Hi again everyone! We have booked the dining plan for our trip in January. Basically that means we will only need money for souvenirs and little snacks. There is my DH and I and our DD, who is 4. We will be gone for 8 nights and the entire trip is paid for. Any suggestions or thoughts on how much I should bring in cash and travellor's cheques? I have been buying US cash, but I don't want to buy too much.

Any thoughts would be great. TIA

Suz

Don't forget you will also need money for tips. The DDP no longer includes this.
Amounts really depend on what you think you will probably buy in souvies - that is the $ we usually go over budget.
We usually bring 1/2 our budget in cash (with plenty of small bills to tip mousekeeping) and 1/2 in TCs - easy to cash at check-in desk or guest services. Whatever we go over goes on the CC so we try hard not to do that and make sure to pay it off as soon as we get back.
Take a look at the restaurants you will be eating at to get an idea of how much you'll need to bring for tips.
HTH!

Thanks for the "tip" on looking at restaurants to figure out the tip! That never occurred to me. Last time we used the room card to charge everything, but we did not have the dining plan. We then put our left over cash and TC's on the bill before we left. In light of the tips I think I will be safe in purchasing a bit more cash. If we don't use it I can always save it for the next trip!! In ten years or so!!

Thanks again, Suz

There's mousekeeping too. I'm planning to have envelopes ready for mousekeeping so that I don't have to look for $ each morning and just be ready to head out to the parks.

Good tip on the tips Nelly!! I had not really thought about preparing the envelopes ahead of time, but now I will. Emily can cover them in stickers since she loves them so much!!

Are you enjoying your rainy day off?? I am leaving now to get Emily from school and take her to lunch.

See ya tomorrow, Suz
