If there is not price difference, go with 6. Adobe added some really good organizing features. It looks like it has borrowed a little from Lightroom.

Whichever one you get, be sure to take a class! Elements is tough to teach yourself from a book.

I see you're from the Pittsburgh area - whereabouts? I live in Monroeville, and CCAC usually has a Photoshop Elements class, but they might be a version behind. I took an Elements 4 class thru CCAC back in Feb. of this year, and Elements 5 came out right before the class started. The folks in the class who had Elements 5 didn't have much trouble following along, just some of the commands were in diff. places.

thanks for the info - I'm from the irwin area-sewickley twp. to be exact..my dd goes to wccc so maybe i'll join her and take a photo class. best buy has the photoshop elements for 99.00 so I"m putting that on my christmas list.
