We have been going to WDW every year, at least once a year if not twice, since 2001. We won a trip to Universal for 3 nights and 4 days and are going there next month. I have a very big trip planned for June of 2008 at HH. We are taking my parents and my brohter and his family. We actually borrowed some points from 2009 to do it. At the time I knew we would not be doing our annual trip to WDW in 2008 and was OK with that....or so I thought. Now I'm realizing I'll have to wait until 2009 for my next Disney trip! I'm not sure I'll make it til then!

Have you considered staying on cash? Sometimes I have to take my summer trip using cash. Depending on if you have an AP, at times they have great rates!

I DO have an annual pass. Hmmmmm:idea: Sounds like something I need to look into!!

I probably would go on at least one WDW trip during the year, especially with an AP. Congratulations on winning the Universal trip!

I feel for you.

We did 4 trips on our AP last year and then Did Vero in Aug. We won't be going back until July 08 and we are doing a Split stay for 12 -14 days over the July 4th timeframe.

If you have the APs I would look into extending your US/IOA Trip and staying even if just a few extra days.

We are in the same :boat: as you. We have a big family trip coming up in December, and we also used all of our upcoming points... so we won't be going until 2009.

At first I thought I was OK with it. But now, I am going into panic mode! :scared1:

What the heck am I going to do without DVC next year?

When we don't have the points, and need a disney fix--- we go on cash (we used all of our points in January to take family in a 2br for 10 days, but couldn't go without a summer trip, so we stayed at POFQ). We use our AP (that we are lucky to have because of the dvc discount) and have been lucky getting AP discounts. I don't mind at all going non-dvc sometimes, it's the best of both worlds if you ask me.

We're in the same situation, too. We're going twice in 2007 (our next visit in less than 2 weeks :santa: ), but I think we're taking a break in '08 as our oldest son is beginning high school, and I don't think it's wise to take him out. Of course, we could always go in the summer, but not sure it my ds's would experience "mouse house" burnout if we go again 6 months from now. Me and DH, however, would love to come back. We'll see.........

I started with this great plan for next year. Stay offiste in April and dedicate my entire October trip to onsite Disney. That idea lasted about a month. Then I returned to SSR, fell in love all over again, and found myself reserving for April.

I've opted to get a smaller unit for more time at the Mouse House. I wonder if this is what addicts are like. "Ok I'll quit. Ok, maybe I'll just go for a little bit. Oh heck, give it ALL to me."

I think I'd stay as far away from these boards and WDW discussions as possible. You can't miss something not constantly on your mind. There's a lot to learn and enjoy in Hilton Head. All that Low Country culture is fascinating.

I feel your pain....I've been to WDW 5 times since may 2006.....

I'm trying to get pregnant....so everything is on hold.....of course I
knew this....which is why I went so much....

But now I'm in serious withdrawal.....I hope I get pregnant this month
so I can have a due date....and plan my next trip:rolleyes:

Stay away from Disney for over a year :scared1: !

We keep finding ways to slip a weekend in here or there. A month ago our Disney plans were go in Dec 07, April 08 and Dec 08. We were going to just bank our extra points.

We had a slow weekend, just sitting around talking about our upcoming trips, talking about our past trips. We quickly decided that we needed to go back again, sooner. So as of this weekend, its Dec 07, April 08, May 08, Oct 08 and Dec 08.

Man we can burn thru our points, no wonder our guide loves us so much!

It has been since July 14, 2006 that I've been to WDW, and I have had some SERIOUS withdrawal pains!!!!!! However in 35 days, our entire family will be converging on BWV at a GV for 9 days running!!!!!!!!!

I definitely feel your pain. We did a two week trip in September/October of this year. The first week was a Western cruise on DCL and the second week was at BCV for the Food and Wine Festival. Well, I hope I got my fill because we are planning a trip to Italy through ABD for next September. And at first we were planning to also spend a week in WDW the first week of December 08. But then we found out that our nephew is getting married in Las Vegas in April. Now I am stuck using my vacation time for a trip for the wedding. So now there will be no trip to WDW in 2008. :sad1: I just do not have the vacation time with the trip to Las Vegas and Italy. But we are planning a family bash in May 2009. We are going to reserve a week in a GV at AKV and a week in a GV at OKW. The first week is for our kids and grandkids. The second week is for the adults in DH's family. I just hope that I can hold on that long. Yikes! 19 months between WDW trips!

I'm in the same situation, I think. We just got back about a month ago from a great trip with friends. We are going to do the Southwest Splendors trip with ABD at the end of May. DH gets a little 'burned out' :scared1: :scared1: of WDW so I'm thinking we may do a trip to HH in September. And that's not a bad thing. In fact we really enjoy HH.

So me-thinks I may plan a solo trip for Dec. 08 and stay at AKL. If DH thinks that sounds like fun, then I'll change the dates so he can go also. The "threat" of going solo may change his mind. :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I'm going through the same situation. We are going in Jan 2008 and had originally planned to go back either Nov/Dec 2008 because I promised my DH that the next trip we took would be during the Christmas holidays. Well after our upcoming trip we will have been there 5 times in 2 years and oldest DS 8 and DH said they would rather take a vacation elsewhere:scared1: So we decided that in summer 2008 we would go either go on a driving trip to the Pacific NW to see relatives or take a beach vacation to somewhere like the US Virgin Island or Hawaii. Of course after the Jan and Summer trips my DH will be out of vacation days so no trip for Christmas 2008. So I guess Christmas 2009 it is. I do not know how I will survive almost 2 years without my fix. Although, I have been planning on taking each one of my 3 DS on an individual trip with just me in the future, so I guess I may have to take a trip with each one of them during that time frame. Then I can get my fix and spend quality one on one time with each one of them:goodvibes

Our extended family trip has been pushed back from Oct 2008 to 2009 and now my sister is wanting us to wait until 2010. Even with regular trips to DL I'm not sure I can wait that long.

I couldn't do it. I HAVE to go a FEW times a year. It helps relax me for real life. But as soon as I get back I want to go again a couple of weeks later. :confused3 I think there is something wrong with us;)

I feel your pain, I have plans for 2008 (with ds) and 2009 (with dd-got to give equal time), but have promised I won't go in 2010. I'm already dreading it, but I have a plan:

1. Stay away from the disboards-limit myself to once a week :scared1: (...not for the entire week!), I just don't think I can go cold turkey.
2. Do not call my guide!!!!!!
3. Put the planning dvd in a place where I can't see it so I won't watch it so much.
4. Get a hobby
5. Take long walks
6. Find someone who needs help and volunteer.

I'm figuring I will only have to make it through half the year since I will have to start planning my 2011 vacation then. Do I sound like a maniac?;)

Hang tough, you'll get through it. Good luck!

Yes there is something wrong w/ us. People tell me that everytime I tell them I'm going to WDW "again."

Actually been asking myself the same question "How will I make it w/o a trip in 2008?" My last real trip was in Jan07, and not sure if I'm going to be able to swing a trip in 2008. I'm finding myself more and more on Dis trying to live thru other ppl's trips. So while I hate all you ppl going to Disney ( - sick w/ jealousy), esp over the holidays keep the TR's coming cuz for some of us, that's all we got!

Maybe if Disney has that free dining special again in late summer, you can finally take advantage of that instead!! :cool1:

I feel your pain except our Disney drought will be in 2009.

Of course, we were suppose to have started our drought last year when our APs ran out and DH was all out of vacation days. But DH was silly enough to Tivo all these Disney World specials. :rolleyes1

As the girls and I were watching them, we all turned to DH and said, "WE CAN"T WAIT OVER A YEAR TO GO AGAIN!!!!!" He looked at us, shook his head, and told me to start booking the next trip. Since then we've been back 3 times all without DH! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

After 3 straight January trips to the world, we planned a non WDW Disney trip. Going to HHI, VBR, and then a 3 night DCL this coming January. I was dealing with not going to WDW very well until this week. Thats when pictures of the castle with the new lights appeared here on the DIS.:headache: Now I'm not so sure I can wait until Jan '09 to go again.:sad2:

10 days for us before 1 day @ Universal/RPR; then driving down to Tampa for our cruise...

cannot believe we'll be driving past WDW and not stopping:sad1: trying to convince DH to sneak over to the MK-open until midnight on Saturday; Universal closes @ 6 pm:eek: :rotfl: so close, yet so far.

Would be hard to do here. Been going at least 3 times a year since joining DVC. Good luck.
