My family will be on the April 20th cruise on the Magic and I have more questions. If my granddaughters 4th birthday is April 21st
can I wait till I get on board to tell someone and possibly get a
cake for her? Also someone mentioned a pin which I have no idea what that is but can I get her one of them? Her birthday falls on a formal night will this be a problem? Last question, we have late seating and wanted early. I understand that means we go to the shows before dinner. Do you dress for dinner and go immediately after the show?
Thanks for any help!
I guess I am just a confused Grandma

Hi Jan!
Tell your servers the first night at dinner about your GD birthday. They will have a cake for her brought out after dinner. Also ask your servers if they have the birthday pin available. It will NOT be a problem to celebrate the birthday on a formal night.

It is my understanding that we will go to the show at 6:00pm which lasts about an hour. This should leave us plently of time to dress for dinner AFTER the show --- at least this is what my family is planning on doing.

How do you already "know" that you have late seating?

It was my understanding that you request a particular seating, but don't know what you actually "get" until you get your cruise documents. When I look at my Disney confirmation on the official DCL site, it lists the seating I requested (late). I'm sailing on 4/20 too and don't have any documents yet - so I'm confused.

If you requested late seating, and that is what is showing up on your ressie -- then that is what you have been scheduled for.

I believe that Jan's family's ressie is also showing 'late', however they are waitlisted for 'early'.

It is a long story but we were already sailing on March 2nd and
due to a medical problem we had to re-schedule for April 20th.
We initially at early seating and already had our documents. Then
when we got our new reservations through Disney as great as
they were the only thng they told us they couldn't give us was
early seating. It was already booked. So that is how we know we have late seating. It has me really concerned because we have three little girls 2,4, and 6 in our group. But with the other
problems we had this is a minor one that we will deal with.
