first post...going to disney on 12/5 [Archive] - The DIS Discussion Forums

I am taking my cheer team to Orlando for a cheer competition. I have 15 girls...all 8 years old.

We arrive in FL on Wed, the 5th. We will probably just relax at our hotel, hang at the pool, and have a pizza party that night. I figure everyone will be tired from travelling.

Thursday is a free day but I don't want to be out late at night since we compete the next day. I'm thinking of MGM since they have HS Musical there and my girls LOVE that.

Friday is competition. We should be done around 2pm so we have the rest of the day. I was contemplating EPCOT to see the fireworks...and I think they are open until 9:30pm.

Saturday is Magic Kingdom Day.

Sunday we leave.

Should we forget EPCOT on Friday...will it be too much?

Any advice at all is appreciated.

Epcot would be a fun idea as long as they are open late and you have the money for another ticket.

So my original plan doesn't account for the Mickey Christmas thing at the MK.

Should I change my plans to:

Thursday: kids choice of MGM/Epcot/AK
Friday: Mickey's Christmas
Saturday: Magic Kingdom

I have 3 minivans so the team can split up and each girl can go to her park of choice on Thursday...I'm picking Epcot :) That's my absolute favorite.

Another question....we are staying at Calypso Cay. Any recommendations on food nearby? Where is the best place to get groceries?

I am not familiar with Calypso Cay, but I know where there are several dining locations very near to WDW. Outback, Olive Garden, KFC, Golden Corral, Pizza Delivery, McDonalds, Grocery store, etc. if interested in any of these.:thumbsup2 I would definately consider the MVMCP following your competition on Friday. The timing would be perfect, since you cannot enter the MK park until 4:00 with the party ticket.
