Pop up on partial or full hook up?

We have decided against the motorhome we were looking at but have now bought a newer pop up. We have stayed on a partial hookup site before for 12 days but I was just curious what the thoughts are on full hookups or partial advantages or not necessary? There will be 2 kids and 5 adults in it. It does have a screen room and air conditioning shower and toilet as a last resort....lol. We will be using the comfort stations though. What do you do?

One thing I found with my PUP is when I stay in a perferred loop I usually have the shower houses pretty much to myself. Most of the people with Motor Homes or larger Travel Trailers tend to use their own facilities.

We find the same thing in the full hookup sites. Showers are not as busy as a partial hookup site. We like just the full hookup, not preferred.

We like to stay preferred (1400 loop) to be closer to all the activities and we like the cable TV. Plus as others have said, the comfort stations tend to be less busy.

Would only stay at the prefered sites as I love to watch the resort channels to see whats going on in the world of Disney!

Well, we changed our reservation to a preferred. After hearing from the CSR that not only was the cable included but also the internet is included in the price, we figured why not? Hoping for loop 100 or 200. We requested those but no guarantees of course. We wanted to be nearer the beach area too. The difference between the partial hookup and the preferred with the sewer,cable, and internet was only $16 and change per day with the AAA discount.

Well.....thats partially true...internet hardwiring is available at the preferred site....but you STILL have to pay 10bucks a day for actuall access...without access, you just have a wire hooked to your computer with a deadend webpage informing you that 24hrs of access will cost you 10 bucks.

That's what I thought too. That's why I asked the CSR. I sent an email question to disney asking that again. May be a training issue.

One other thing might consider is Grey water:
FW does not have a dump station(s) (It didn't the last time I went so I could be wrong now). If you produce grey water at your site you would not have anywhere to put it at a partial hookup (pouring it on the ground is against the rules). If you use the water in your pop-up you will produce grey water. At least with a full or preferred hookup you can put it into the sewer. I think you made the right choice going with a preferred.

I have now learned that the best place for correct information is the disboards and not the reservations people. The information they gave me was totally wrong 3 times. I was told in regards to the internet at the preferred sites that the internet was included in the preferred price, then there was but they didn't know how much it cost, then there wasn't any internet available, then there was dial up at the sites, then finally from a csm at the campground that it is available by cable modem with a $125 deposit and $9.95 per 24 hour charge. Free dial up is available, just not at the site, using your own provider. I couldn't believe all the inaccuracies I was given. Next time I won't listen to what they say....lol.:rotfl2: I am sticking with the preferred for the reasons mentioned here. Thanks

I just spent 14 nights at Ft. Wilderness on a partial hookup site. I have a 5-gallon collapsible grey water container that I just carried to the comfort station to empty, (also emptied my portable toilet canister there also.)

I just haven't found the need for cable or sewer yet with my little camper. I installed an XM Radio Cradle in my camper and would rather fall asleep listening to the radio instead of watching TV. (I have internet wherever I need with a Verizon air card.)
