Non-WDW Resorts and the booking window

So what's been your experiences in trying to secure a reservation at VB and/or HHI at the 7month window during various seasons?

I'd be interested in splitting a WDW and VB stay, but wondering if it was possible to do so without having a small contract with VB as home resort.

We were able to get early Jun for about three nights a couple of years ago at VB. If you want a Beach Cottage or July 4th, you'll need the home resort advantage.

VB is busiest Xmas, Feb to mid April. I'd agree a BC is tough but the rest shouldn't be that difficult 7 months out though I'd always do day by day for anything that's important. HH is tough for summer but people have had success the last few years esp for 2 BR since there are more of them, again, day by day is best. Unless you want to visit either resort routinely, I wouldn't buy points there.

I guess thats why im buying into HHI...i want to go there about every other year...and we travel in June...i want to have the ability to get a GV there...love to golf , relax, and hang out at beach...but still love disney too
