Do all cruises have a special celebrity on board? If so - what were some of their names?

Ours had Joe Namath.

No, this is an occasional thing. WebmasterMichelle occasionally posts lists of upcoming celebrity guests. Haven't seen a list recently though.

Personally, I prefer to have a Disney "insider" as the guest on my cruise, rather than a run-of-the-mill celebrity. We had Disney artist Don Williams on our 7-day cruise last year, and he was great! I am hoping we will have another Disney guest speaker on our Western Caribbean trip this year. I like learning about art, Imagineering, Disney trivia, etc.

Not much of a schedule on the Disney Magic...

I saw schedules last year where there was a different guest speaker each week for several months, including Disney artists and Imagineers.

I can only hope that the official DCL site is not up-to-date, and that there will be a Disney Imagineer or some other great Disney guest speaker on the March 23 Disney Magic cruise.

There wasn't anything at disneycruise.com for our cruise and we had an imagineer on board. So hopefully there will be someone there for you!

How do you know, when you get onboard, who's "there"? Is it like a special meet and greet sesion, or what if it's a celebrity having a "normal" vacation with his family?

As far as I know, there is always a "Guest Speaker" on the 7 day Magic cruises. It is usually a regular part of the "Disney Behind-the-Scenes" series on the Magic. On the Dec. 1 Magic, we had Kevin Neary, who is the author of "The Ultimate Disney Trivia" Books. (He also writes all of the questions for "Who wants to be a Mousketeer?" on the ship) These guest speakers usually have presentations on a couple of the "at sea" days.

We were on a 3 day cruise a couple of years ago and Gary Sheffield of the LA Dodgers at the time was on the ship. He did 1hr question and answer. I am a baseball fan and there were only 15 people other than him in the room so it was nice to sit down and talk to him for an hour.

I would have loved to have been on the cruise with Joe Namath. If Disney is reading maybe they could invite him to sail again on Oct 26, 2002. What a real trick- or- treat surprise that would be.:bounce: :D

Joe was GREAT!

I went to one of his presentations one afternoon when we were at sea. After he was done and most were leaving I walked up to the stage to shake his hand. There were several in front of me and they were asking if I would take their pictures with Joe. After taking about 10 pictures - I returned a camera and thought I was too late because Joe was beginning to walk away. Bur then he stopped and walked over to me and kinda laughed as he commented on all the pictures I had taken. We talked for a little more and then we walked over to a table and he talked to me as if we were old friends.

I saw him several more times during the cruise with a young girl who I assumed was his daughter
