Travel protection

I hope this is the right place for this question.....

When I recieved my travel confirmation from DVC included was a red brochure for travel protection. Has anyone ever used this service? Is it worth it?

I've bought it once because I have a mom who was infirmed at the time and I never knew for sure if we'd really make the trip. It seems pretty inexpensive but doesn't really cover the replacement costs of the points but something is better than nothing if an unexpected illness occurs and you can't go or reschedule.
