Timing for adding on dining plan?

We are arriving on Monday and are pretty sure we want to add the meal plan as DVC members to our stay. Does anybody REALLY know what the timeframe is to add this to our reservation? It seems you get a different answer depending on who you ask. I understand it must be done before check-in. Would Friday be too late? Can we add it over the weekend if desired? We call the DVC 800 number, correct?

I was told by MS this morning that you can add DDP up to 48 hours prior to your check-in date.

I was told yesterday by MS that it must be added at least 48 hrs prior to check in day.

I too was told "at least 48 hours". I made a reservation for DS and myself for SS for Easter with DDP. DH will be staying at our friend in Orlando's house doing several home repairs for her, but I have thought about adding him to our reservation/DDP depending on his schedule.

I, too, am waiting to add it, because I don't have a final head count. My in-laws are supposed to be going with us but my fil has a medical problem. :( We really want them to come.
