We will be staying at the VWL at the end of March/beginning of April 2008. It will be our first time staying there and I was wondering what type of views are available for a studio?

I don't mind which view we have as long as it's not a parking lot. Do they have views of parking lots?

Thanks for the help!

There are no parking lots close to the VWL. In other words, it's a rather long hike to your car.

Nearly all the rooms at VWL have a woods view, some more woodsy than others. A few can see the bus stop through the woods. A few can see the lake through the woods. A few can see the leisure pool from the room.

There is one studio that has no balcony because of the design of the building. I think it was supposed to be a second bedoom of a two bedroom, but got made into a lock off instead.

Thanks!

I'm glad most of the views of the woods, because that's what I wanted :thumbsup2 .

I just didn't want to be stuck with a view of the parking lot :headache: .

I hope I don't get the room with no balcony & with my luck, I probably will  .

I just got back from a stay at VWL and we had a view of the bus stop.

Thanks! Maybe I'll just add a request for a woods view. But the bus stop view may still be considered a woods view :confused3

You can always request "dumpster view".

We stayed at VWL last December and learned the people across from us had dumpster view. If you want to try and avoid it, ask for lake view.

4533 is the studio without the balcony.

Here's a listing (http://members.aol.com/**********/wildernesslodge.pdf)of what you can expect.

:rotfl: I never even thought about a dumpster view :rotfl: . I think I'll go ahead and just request a lake view.

By the Way, thanks for the list :thumbsup2

Do remember that with DVC a request is a request. We've had very poor luck with DVC in getting any view request met.

My DSis had 2560, it was a dumpster view, but limited dumpster and it was ready at 11 AM. She says she would take the "dumpster" over waiting any day, it really wasn't bad, and there was no noise waking her up as some have reported. Now, that also was the studio that had the frog in her shower!

here is a map

would ask for lake view near the elevators - would also ask for a dedicated studio - they are quieter

Honestly, I think the front side of VWL is underrated. It's peaceful and of course it's a Disney resort.....landscaping hides most unwanted views. Remember I said most, dumpster pushers! :lmao:

Gosh, they do that so well. The landscaping. Also, in general, better chance of getting a suite with more light on the front side. Because most units do not have trees right up against them.

Have a wonderful time. It's so beautiful.

In all honesty, I don't mind which room we stay in, but it can't hurt to make a requests. The Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful place & I'm happy to be staying there

Here's a view of VWL from the bus stop:

As you can see, it's not like it's just a view of the driveway and bus stop area.

Here's another picture taken of the front of VWL, on the side away from the lake.

I agree with lisaviolet...this side of VWL is an underrated part of the villa. :)

Thanks Granny!

That's actually not bad. I think I'm going to love the forest feeling of VWL  .

I guess I'll just make a request for any view except the dumpster  .
