Hi!

DH & I will be flying down to FL for the 1st time in a long time. We usually drive but with the price of gas and wear and tear on the minivan we decided to fly for our January trip. Wondering which grocery delivery service everyone likes best? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!

Cyndi

We have used Marge at wegoshop once before and will be using her again in December. She provided very good service when we used her in Sep06. We had a huge order (over $300) and she even called me on my cell phone to ask about something that was on our grocery list.

Does wegoshop deliver beer or wine?

Does Wegoshop and/or the other one deliver directly to the room? I am a bit confused. If say we arrive at 1pm check in (room may or may not be ready)and head to the parks till 9pm, it appears that they stop delivering at 7pm, how does the groceries get into the room? More important how does the milk get into the fridge?

We have used GardenGrocer.com 4 or 5 times now and have had good service with them each time. They will deliver directly to your room if you are there. Otherwise, they will leave it with bell services.

GG does deliver beer and wine. You have to put what you want in their comments section. It doesn't count toward their minimum order amount.

I usually pay by CC so I actually have two CC charges--one for the groceries and delivery fee at the time we order and then another for any alcoholic beverages we order. I usually call GG the day before we arrive and get the amount I owe for the alcoholic beverages and give them my CC # for it.

I really like GG!!!!!!

Yes, Marge will deliver beer or wine. On our last trip, we ordered a couple of bottles of wine which was delivered. Our daughter was there a day ahead of us (delivery day) and Marge wanted to be sure that she was 21.

To the other poster... yes they deliver directly to the room. I believe that you need to be there to accept delivery.

Since they are cheap ($5 fee) and can put it directly in the room, why not use Disney's service? Are they not good? (I'm new to DVC)

I don't think the selection is that good and the food seems really expensive to me.

I agree..her service has been exceptional. She called and told us when the items were dropped off, since we were at the parks

Wegoshop has no problems buying liquor....I tend to not be in the room when the groceries arrive...so bell services refrigerates everything and then delivers it all when you call

Back in Sep06, we were at MK all day and Marge delivered our groceries to VWL and left them with bell services/front desk. Since I had a CC on file, the front desk paid Marge and then charged my room. Also, the cold items were stored in a refrigerator. Once we returned from MK (very late, around 11PM I think), I called the front desk to have the groceries delivered to our room.

For smaller orders, I would consider using the Disney grocery service, but as someone else posted, the prices are quite high, so for bigger orders I prefer using WeGoShop service. The selection is much better and the lower prices help offset the delivery fee and tip (depending on your order size). Remember, they are actually going to the store of your choice (walmart, winn dixie, etc.) and shopping for the items that you request. The prices are exactly what you would pay if you went to the store yourself. The extra costs you have to pay are the delivery fee and tip.

We used Garden Grocer in June and were very happy with their service/selection. We had a 2 BR at OKW that we were sharing with DH's brother's family. His two DDs have milk allergies and they were very happy with the soy alternatives that GG offered. They called before they delivered, but we were at Epcot so they left everything with Bell Services.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I'll check the 2 different web sites to compare prices. It's nice to hear I can't go wrong with the service I pick. Thanks for all the insite.

Marge at wegoshop and I talked a few days before and we discussed the delivery time. Around 8:40pm Marge and her husband delivered to our room. (We had just checked in around 15 mins prior). We were in constant contact with her via cell phone so she knew our room number and when we would be there etc... We're using her again in January!

Oh, and yes- they delivered beer to us. DH requested at least one 6 pack to be cold when delivered and it was! He was happy to have a cold one in our room to start our trip with my family (his in-laws). By the way... it ended up being a wonderful trip with everyone still loving everyone!!! (Maybe the beer helped??? - just kidding!):rotfl:

:thumbsup2 Marge from WeGoShop!

I originally picked Garden Grocer because their website is easier to use. It's a long story but I ended up canceling my Garden Grocer order and using WeGoShop. Marge is great. She always responded promptly to me when I called or emailed :)

We have used Garden Grocer on our last two trips and have been very happy with their service. I ordered fresh fruit on our last trip and the quality was great. We are getting ready to place our third order with them for our December trip. Twice I have requested an item that I didn't see on their list and both times the items were added to their webpage. I have always received same-day and sometimes immediate responses from them whenever I have contacted them via email. I hope this information helps. Happy shopping!

We have used Garden Grocer at least 4 times now and we have referred friends to use them also at least 2 other times.

We have all had nothing but SUPERB service from this company. I know somewhere here there are comments about GG that are negative and I just don't get it. Honest to god, they were one of the nicest companies I've ever dealt with, otherwise I would not waste my vacation time (nor my families)by using them.

I highly recommend GG to anyone traveling to Disney. They are a 10 out of 10.

have a great time,
Esmerelda

just my 2cents....DVC groceries are limited and are very expensive. We have never used them for that reason.

some examples:

2 liter Coke thru DVC $3.50
2 liter Coke thru GG 1.69

american cheese slice/6 oz thru DVC $3.30
american cheest slice/12 oz thru GG 4.19 (that's for double the cheese)

Oscar Meyer beef franks thru DVC $4.70 (1 lb)
Oscar Meyer beef franks thru GG 3.99 (1 lb)

I picked some random items above and these were all taken straight from the 2 websites. As you can see DVC items are higher priced and the selection is much more limited than thru GG.

Yes DVC has a $5.00 service charge and I think GG was $12.00 last I checked it but the difference in groceries prices far surpass the $12 for us as far as DVC goes. (GG does not charge if you spend $200 or more I think but we did not spend that much)

hope this helps some,
Esmerelda :)

We used www.gardengrocer.com for the first time this past June and I was very pleased with their service. We arrived at our resort at 1pm. I gave a requested time for delivery between 1 and 2 pm. We when checked in, our room was available and so were our groceries.

We just used Garden Grocer for our trip last week and we could not have been happier. They were on time, everything was there and we even had to add a last minute item and they were incredibly accomodating. We will be using them again in June. :thumbsup2

We have had good luck with GG. Last time I asked to substitute Lipton white tea with raspberry for the Lipton green tea with citrus that they had on the order form. They replied back that it was no problem as long as it was available in the store. When the order showed up, I had my white tea.
