Well lucky me, I convinced DH to stay another night during marathon weekend, but I still want to cut costs so we are considering giving up the rental vehicle.
Anyone know...and I am sorry but I can't seem to find this info even though it is probably staring me right in the face....lol
Is there disney transportation from POP to WWos and to the race start and finish????
Thanks
Kim

Kim, yes there is transportation to these events. The busses are not the WDW busses, rather special ones that you get at the location you will be staying. (They do not stop at the WDW bus stops.) When you p/u your bus to go to WWoS from Pop, that will be the spot you catch it to your event in the wee hours of the morning.
There will be other WISH Team members on those busses from there too I believe.
We rarely will have a car while on property.

Kim: Let Magical Express, Marathon and WDW transport move you around. We haven't rented a car in over 11 years of visiting WDW.

Thanks everyone. not exactly sure what we are doing yet. We have now decided to come in Thursday morning and leave Tuesday morning.....but Mike wants to keep the rental from Thursday till Sunday afternoon and return it before we head to PI, i figure no sense taking the car there as neither of us will want to be the DD and we will just take disney trans to Epcot on Monday?????
of decisions, decisions....lol
but thanks for the info

Along the same lines...does anyone recall if there is transportation to the 5K at AK? I recall seeing early morning Disney busses last year shuttling peeps to MGM for the 5K on Friday morning.

We are only in WDW till Tues morning. But we arrive Thursday night so we are basically free any night but the WISH meet on Friday. Even Sat night would be fine, just need time after the 1/2 for a quick nap and a shower....maybe shower, quick nap then another shower and we would be good to go, but has to be a early night for all the marathoners and us volunteers.

I will be staying at the Dolphin during the 5K-I think that race is at the beginning of EPCOT. I am wondering if i can walk through EPCOT at either the beginning or end of the race to get back to the Dolphin. If not, is there transportation form this hotel or would I have to walk over to the Boardwalk?
KIM- We usually have a car w/us because i like to be able to go other places-like to the beach or I visit my mom. I also do not like to have to rely on the WDW transportation. I have rented mid way when I was staying at OKW. I went to DTD then walked to one of the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd. to rent a car.(They will also pick you up at your hotel). I have also rented at the Dolphin (or swan) in the lobby there is a car rental desk. That was also very easy.

According to the 07 Marathon Weekend Program(page 34) , the 5K(which was at MGM in 07) will have shuttle buses begin departures from WDW Resorts at 5:00 am and will continue throughout the morning. They also state plan to be there 1 hr before the 7:00am race start. Shuttle busses will also be available for all spectators.

Maybe that's where the confusion is coming from!!
Thank you so much. We just booked our room at All Star Sports for the Marathon weekend, and I was really worried that we would have to find our own transportation to the race (ala TOT!).

We took a taxi from BWV to DTD for $10(including tip). The race has no trasport setup so you are on your own. I would say find a fellow WISH'er or take a taxi.
