I would like to toss this out here...

If your coming, or in the area, would you be interested in spending a few hours volunteering at Give Kids the World as a group?

I know it would be easy to look it up... but I am at work and kinda a slacker... so... exactly what weekend is it this year? Not sure if I will be there for it or not yet... but a better chance this year then normal :)

We're trying to secure a 2 BR at AKV June 5-9. We're meeting up with friends from Chicago and bringing some NY area friends, too.

We haven't been to Gay Days since 2004, so we're really looking forward to it!

Another stupid question... what exactly is "Give Kids the World "?

Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) is a 70-acre, non-profit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. GKTW provides accommodations at its whimsical resort, donated attractions tickets, meals and more for a week-long, cost-free fantasy vacation. With the help of many generous individuals, corporations and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids The World has welcomed more than 75,000 families from all 50 states and over 50 countries.

When I have volunteered in the past its usually in Food Service. You basically just help in the "cafeteria" for either Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. Serving food, wiping down tables, stuff like that.

I want to go and have fun with others (ok, ALOT of others) of our own type.... Gay Days would be perfect for that... we'll have to see if I can convince him to go :)

Behind the Walmart on 192 near Medevil Times. It usually only takes a few hours to setup, serve, and clean up after dinner.
