It was suggested on pic of the day thread that we start this. I know that a bunch of you are going in the weeks ahead, and thought this might be a good time to get it started.

how does the first picture have a mickey and a balloon?

Is that the hidden mickey of the day?

Colson, did you steal the original sign? Or is there another one of these signs?

Colson39

No, it was edited in the picture of the day thread. The sign that is actually at the fort doesn't have the mickey and a balloon, unfortunately :(

You know someone with a little time and some black tape 'could' probably add the Mickey and ballon to the actual sign. I believe that it would not be vandism, but 'enhancement' of FW road sign. Not that I would encourage anyone(Colson) to do such a thing.:rolleyes1

A good "sharpie" would do the trick, too....I'd be willing to bet that there's a mickey & balloon by the end of the month.....BEFORE I arrive, thats BEFORE I arrive, meaning that when it happens, it will not have been done by me!!!! There are in fact 2 of these signs on the service road running to WL. One each way right behind the Tri- Circle D barn.

Those Disney workers need to understand that we are all on a mission much bigger than their rules!
Maybe, by the time the mob of us all going in the next few weeks make our pilgrimage, they will understand. They may even put one of those Kodak Picture Spot signs up there.:earboy2:

I have to admit...I saw the sign on our way to MGM the day before we left, even told my kid we needed to take a pic for the boards in the a.m., but dropped the ball with the packing and trying to get out by 11am....to be honest, I didnt get alot of things done that I had planned.....too many park days, too little energy, not enough Fort time....I need to go back for an actual vacation this time, not to include all the crazy "get up, lets go" commotion that the parks put you into.

Since it seems that "Colson" is no longer with us, it has been suggested that it may be time to rename the crossing. Whether we find some clever new name or not, I would like to see us keep this going. If we need to find a new location that is not off the beaten path, maybe we could improve participation???? What do ya'll think?????

I'm up for it. We could use the lawnmower tree....but it would be hard to see in pictures now :sad2: There are many good places for photo ops...the wagon outside of the settlement trading post, the marina dock, on the porch of T.E, the bridge to the bike barn...I think it would be fun to have a post with member pictures taken in the same place with their families :thumbsup2

I agree that the tradition should continue. I like the spot, but if the folks want to move it, that's fine as well. Personally, I'd pick crocket's tavern porch, in the rockingchairs in honor of Burl Ives.

I agree with making the porch our new Kodak spot. How about the first one of us to make it there and get a pictue starts a new thread. The "Picture on the Porch" thread, or whatever!!!! Maybe a photo from each trip??? Try something different each time, new pose, some theme, whatever???? All of the other folks sitting there holding onto their pagers waiting to get in will be looking and wondering what's wrong with them???

Even as it has been spoken, so shall it be done. :yay:

I am going over on the 25th for a couple of nights, but I hope someone else beats me to it!!!!

All I can say is that you guys are real wimps if you can't go out of your way to get to Colson's Crossing! That was the fun of it all. I vote to keep the picture spot there and for you guys to get off your duffs to get to this silly and unique location. Here, I took a picture of my daughter there last week. You can't have my scooter, don't ask....it makes it from the front desk of FW to the WL and back on one charge....and can carry both me and my daughter.

The scooter is a ZAP by www.zapworld.com

It would be too big for a 4yr old though. It is really an adult sized scooter. My 7 year old can ride it but just barely keep it under safe control. My 4 year old is not big enough to handle it.

I have a dress for Poly Pixie to wear for the scene; my wedding dress. If you can look back at the video again without vomiting; love struck's dress is a peach version of mine, married in the 80's what can I say?

Hey, I know I don't post all that often, but ya'll totally forgot about me. Since one of ya'll called me a cool gramma once, doesn't that make ME the old lady in the red dress?

I will actually have enough people in our group to do that picture. Now, if I could track down Miss Sundee, I will be the envy of the whole board. I need to print that pic and take it with me in 19 days and do a little reenactment for ya'll.

Only prob is my printer is not working. Apparently it said something fresh to the desktop and the desktop is no longer talking to it. Ya know the whole "communication" thing and all. I have been trying to take the firewall down between the 2 of them, but the desktop just keeps putting it back up. Don't know what the printer said, but it must have been bad. Maybe he told her that her new software made her CPU look big or something. Can never get those printers to quit when they are ahead. I have spent numerous times doing restores and recoveries :surfweb: only to have the printer work that night, but by morning the desktop is not talking to it anymore. I think I see a new CPU in my future.

Believe it or not I had that song sung to me in my youth at a formal dance that I happened to have on a red dress at. Well, the bible does say that "beauty is fleeting". At least I have a boat load of kids who don't care what I look like when I am baking them a pie. ;)

And yes, I will bake you guys pies if you want. My husband has put on so much weight since we got married he barely passes army standards. :yay: He plans on dropping some weight while in Iraq. I am hoping to be half the woman he left behind. I once told him that I did not see where I had put on that much weight. He told me to turn around. Then he disappeared. Never saw the man run so fast. :lmao: Lucky for him my JLo boody kept me from catching him. :scared1:

Seriously, I am hoping to set my group up for that pic.

Do I really come off as a gay know-it-all? I'm straight as an arrow, and as far as being a know-it-all...to be honest....I dont know much of anything. Im about as sharp as a bowling ball. I have no life and spend waaay too much time on the computer, but it keeps me out of trouble and keeps me sober. Thats funny, back in "the day", me and my buddy greg hit about every club from Miami, to NYC. We travelled alot. But my roommate dated a "dancer" from one of the BIG clubs in Atlanta. And the stories she would tell us about customers, the other girls etc. We knew what the real story was, but when you are 23 with HUGE wads of cash in your pocket, and you are in a different town every week what else are you supposed to do. Also gregs best freind from HS was the manager of a little club in Cocoa beach Fl, and he told us all the stories from his view point.

P.S. before I traveled, my job was bouncing in a night club in Athens, we had about 700+ every night (no strippers tho) I think a combo of the two is why I haven't been to a real bar in years, I got it out of my system.

P.S. I've been checking every day for the new Google Earth 3D Disney updates, but they still only have the Swan and Dolphin up, plus yesterday I noticed they had put up the main Italian building in Epcot.

Really looking forward to seeing their street views, right now they only have the parking lot outside the ticket and transportation center modelled on Google Maps.
