Has anyone put tents on a preferred site? Would love to try being up by the marina and not rent the golf cart this time. Also, how early can you book camp sites?:cheer2:

We just sold our 33 ft motorhome and so we will be putting a tent on a preferred site. We always do a preferred site, this will be the first time ever camping in a tent.

We've stayed in both prefered and non. I think the only difference is the walking distance to the settlement.
Seems to be a value judgement, your time vs your money. :)
Either way, I love Tent Camping!

I have stayed in prefered sites in both tents and my 35 year old Apache pop up several times and never had anyone act or say anything unfriendly, even with neighbors in top of the line class A's. For me its close to the trading post or marina and I usually have the bathrooms to myself, with the exception of other tenters and pop up owners doing the samething as me.

Thanks. We love tent camping. We do a lot of back country camping with 4 lb. tents also. We usually stay in the 1500 loop and rent a golf cart. Because we are in the parks from open to close every day I think the cart is a waste of money. I would rather spend the extra money on a perfered site.
500 days. Great. I can book for March 2009 now.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
