When we spend a week at the Fort, we usually "hang out" around the campground, resort hop, or go shopping a couple of the days while we're there. In other words, we don't feel the need to go to the parks commando style the whole seven days.

Anyway, there are days when we don't feel like cooking or eating the buffet at TE, so one evening we rode up to Port Orleans Riverside and ate at the food court there. Well, I think this is my new favorite eating spot. The building is absolutely gorgeous and very relaxing. There are 4 or 5 different food "stations" from which to choose from. There is a "design your own" pasta and pizza area, a bakery, a "choose your own" salad area" and burger area, and a carving station.

When we went, my DD (11) ordered a pizza, DW ordered shrimp alfredo, which was cooked while she watched, and I ordered carved roast beef with mashed potatoes, green beans and cornbread. All of this including drinks cost me around $25.

The dining area was clean, it was relaxing, and as Disney standards go, it was cheap. The atmosphere was also top notch (as food courts go)

So if you're at the Fort and don't want to cook, don't want a lot of food from the buffet at TE, give Port Orleans Riverside Food Court a try.

As you leave FW, turn left out of the campground, go to the traffic light, turn right. It will be the first resort on your left.

Thanks for the thumbs-up. Port Orleans is the only Disney resort I've never been too, now I have a reason to go :thumbsup2

I was wondering what the new food court would be like. We used to go there frequently but in the past few years the choices have gone down. Glad to hear that the new one is better.

We stumbled on it by eating breakfast one morning at Boatwrights and decided to take a look around afterwards. Next trip I going to give Boatwrights a try for dinner.

We enjoy the food courts at Riverside & Dixie Landings. With the new re-fillable drink mugs being the same for all the resorts - take yours with you the next time!:thumbsup2

The food court at Pop Century & the courts at the All-Star resorts are just as good... and each one offers something a little different. They offer a killer taco salad at AS Movies - - - you can even eat the dish!!

Coronado Springs has an open ala carte food court/buffet with different stations. You pay per item selected. It is pricy-er than the other food courts, but has a tremendous selection!!

We will arrive at the Fort on Sunday and have treated ourselves with the dining plan. I have been researching counter service that has variety and will check this one out. Thanks!
