We went last year for Easter Week and had an absolute BLAST! :cheer2:

And that trip was planned THREE weeks before easter! :wizard:

We can't wait to do it again! Even with the crowds, as long as you are up early and moving, it really is a GREAT time to go. I don't think the lines are too bad because Disney is operating at FULL Staff and ready for the crowds.

Checking in March 29th. For the annual Fort Wilderness Easter trip. Except DD school changed the week of vacation this year so it is a bit after Easter.

We did get away over New Years for 4 nights - first time with the baby! Could have been easier, I have to confess. :rolleyes1 Hoping he'll do better come March!

DD2, Cousin Donald and myself (DW has to work, she and I will be there in May and Oct). We get there on Sunday, March 16 and then leave that Friday. Want to spend Easter with DW so we have to leave a bit early. And yes it will be good to get the 5'er back on the road. We have not quite had it a year and love it. Been to FW once for the F & W Festival and had a great time. Looking forward to years of trips down there.

For those of you who have been to FW in March previously...how is the weather that month.:confused3 I'm curious about the temps particularly the earlier part of the month? Is it warm enough to swim? Shorts?...or is it longsleeves and pants? Thanks.

Average High 79'F. average Low 56'F with 3.54" rain. So shorts for the daytime with long pants and sweaters for evenings if outside! I think layers are the answer :goodvibes .

THank goodness my boys have those zip-off pants which convert to shorts! :laundy:

We will be there the first two weeks of April but generally we are there in late March. In all the years we have been going it can be a little cooler in early March, but still shorts weather. By late March and early April it will be in the 80's during the day and sometimes sweatshirt weather at night.

Small world, DH is from that area too - a tiny village called Frinton On Sea - 20 miles south of Ispwich! I'm from just north of Birmingham. Do you get to visit "the old country" much?

Mom and family from Framlingham, near woodbridge I think, She met Dad when he was there in USAF in 60's. She lives there now, I think in Ipswich. We don't talk much (long story). The last time I was there, was 18, I think it 1988, but I would love to go back.

We will have to try to see each other at ftw to say hi.

Darlington is about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh, And I swear, we never go the same way twice, I used to live in Athens Ga, so most times we swing through there either 1 direction or the other, we also have friends in Knoxville Tn, and the same thing there.

Coming back last time, we stopped at Jekyll Island in Ga for a night, then near Charrlotte, and then home. This time we leave on Sat, plan on getting to N of Charrlotte sat night, then into FL. sunday night and then into the fort early on Mon, Trip home will be reverse, leave fort late thursday afternoon, stay in south Ga thurs night, and then VA or WV fri then home early afternoon Sat, that way we have sunday to unpack etc and DW has to work night shift Sun night.

We arriving at the Fort on the 22nd and staying till the 27th!! :banana: Not long enough! LOL!! We are leaving MI on the 20th and heading south. The drive will be long, but well worth it!! Soooooo excited for our first trip!! :yay:

Arriving three weeks from this evening for a 6-nighter (3/21-3/27)!!! Just got back from Disney Store in Virginia Beach where we bought our Park Hoppers!!! Set-up our "new" tent in the backyard for the first time, just to make sure everything is there...Getting all fired up now!!!
