I just used a digital camera for the first time on a trip to New York and I took my 10 year old niece. I want to post the photos somewhere so that her mom can see them. I'd also like a place where I could put a little narrative with the picture. I'm also interested in the online scrapbooking stuff that is becoming more popular. I've never done the the other scrapbooking but am wanting to start. Should I start now with online scrapbooking? What sites do you recommend? Also I've heard of snapfish, shutterfly, walgreens etc. where I can post my pictures. What do you all recommend for my pictures? I'm truly a novice and need your help badly. Thanks in advance.

For showing your family pictures and writing a small bit about them, I'd suggest a blog. They will host the images for you and it's very easy to use.

For digital scrapping, I wrote a long FAQ, and it's stickied in this area, that might be of help to you.

If you want your pics private you can also open a free account with snapfish, shutterfly, or photobucket. I have mine with photobucket and you can give your mom the user ID and password info so she can look them up. I don't know if you can write up a description though.

Fran's the one to talk to about digital too! She knows a lot!
