I finally registered here at the DIS boards - I've been a lurker for many many years and have learned so much from all the boards. Thanks to many of you I finally bought the Cricut and was playing with it for the first time yesterday. SO COOL!! But I have a problem and I don't know what I am doing wrong if anything. I was using the Mickey and Friends Cart and cutting out at diffierent sizes to get the feel of it. I had it set for 1 1/4 -:scared: it said so on the screen too but it was cutting out at 2 in. Itried resetting it and turning it off and on. What am I doing wrong?? Thanks for all your help!!

No I'm not cutting using the shadow feature. I cut some earlier at 1 1/4 and at 2 in so I know what they should look like and they are not the right size. I even measured them. When I changed to 2in just now it cut it our at about 3 1/4 when i measured it. The machine is brnad new could it have a glitch?? Again thanks for your help

Okay, try this. Take the size dial and turn all the way up and then all the way back. While the machine is on. And then try to cut something at 3 inches and see what it does.

I think I got it . I cut out a bunch of other things all are ok , I had my husband look at it and he said that it was right I was making Mickey's shoe and measuring across instead of up and down. I forgot his feet are bigger than his hands. Sorry to bother you what an idiot I am. Thanks for your help.

not all the measurements are top to bottom, it took me a while to get used to that feature too. IT will all fit though.
