Tired Of Lurking! Finally Joined-my 1st Pre-trip Report.

This is my first shot at a pre-trip report so be gentle!

The cast:
Me: 36 Loves everything Mickey mouse
Mom: ?? Hasn't been to Disney since I was little
DD: 14 (going on 21)
DS: 13 Loves the rides

I took my kids to Disney for their 1st time Spring Break of 2006. We had a ball. My mom always wanted to go with them their 1st time but couldn't make it because she was in the middle of chemo at the time. She is now in remission and I couldn't think of a better gift to her than taking her for Christmas this year. My treat!! I was going to tell her on her birthday back in April but couldn't wait. As soon as I booked the trip I spilled it to her. She is very excited.

We will be leaving on Dec. 18th, 2007 staying at Port Orleans French Quarter.

Back to my pre-trip report:

12/19 Animal Kingdom with lunch at Rainforest Cafe
12/20 Magic Kingdom-Breakfast at Crystal Palace-leaving and having dinner at 50's Prime Time in MGM then back to MK for MVMCP
12/21 Epcot with lunch at Coral Reef (the one place my mom requested)
12/22 MGM with lunch at Sci-Fi (kids request)
12/23 Leave to come home but not before breakfast at Chef Mickey's with my favorite mouse

My kids think I am crazy because I love Mickey Mouse. When we saw him for the first time during our Spring Break trip I started tearing up. What can I say....I am a big kid at heart.

Any suggestions for what we shouldn't miss this year would be greatly appreciated.

Your mom will have a blast as will the family.

POFQ is one of our favorites...really pretty and not as big as the other hotels.

We love Crystal Palace..great character interaction.

I have readers!! :yay: I scheduled a call from Mickey the morning of our trip for my mom. I also sent in pictures of my kids and a special message for her on our menu at Coral Reef. I have learned so much from this message board that I didn't know. Glad I found it.

I would love to do a custom menu for my daughters is there a number you have to call to set this up? Also if you don't mind me asking is there a cost for doing this and how far in advance do you have to plan it?

All you have to do is call the Coral Reef and tell them what you want to do. They will get you to the right person. They will give you an email address to send any pictures you want included and also what you want the menu to say. The best thing is it is FREE!!!!!:banana: I'm not sure how far in advance you have to do it. I called about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Good luck!

I'm looking forward to a great trip. I am very lucky to have such a great relationship with my mom. She is like my best friend.

I figured I would be sad the day we were leaving so I thought breakfast with my favorite mouse was the best way to start the day home.

I've been reading the thread on decorating windows and now I am getting excited. I'm going to try and come up with some ideas for our window! I have 2 strands of mickey lights and plenty of disney ornaments in my christmas stash. My husband will be thrilled when he hears I'll be taking the decorations with me instead of putting them up at the house. LOL I drive him crazy with all of the mickey stuff I have around. But he does tolerate it. I'm so jealous of the posts I read where couples enjoy going to Disney. My husband said he did his fatherly duty once and never wants to go back. Good thing he said I can go whenever I want to or else.............LOL

Just wanted to subscribe to your TR.. Wow.. how nice for you to take your mom.. I bet she and your kiddos are excited...

Me and DD16 (also going on 21 :rotfl: ) went to WDW in August/September to celebrate her 16th b'day and stayed at POFQ and loved it.. Now DH wants to see that resort too.. so we'll have to schedule a short trip in somewhere so he can experience it..when he said that he didnt recv any arguement from me :lmao:

I like all your food choices.. Ive been to all except Coral Reef and Chef Mickeys which CM is on my list to do on our upcoming trip.. :banana:

How do you schedule a call from Mickey? I havent seen that one before but boy would I be interested...

Is the special message on the menu only for Coral Reef? I guess Im out of the loop yet again.. :lmao:

I feel like a true DIS'er now. I went to HD and got my alien green mickey

heads for my window decorating. :banana: I also got green and red ones to

decorate with. My trip is sooooo close now. I can hardly stand it. I took

my neice princess: to Disney on Ice yesterday and we had a ball.
