View Full Version : Report Your General Pulbic Ticket Upgrade Pkg here!
I figured we could use a centralized location for our package rates!
How did you do with the new public codes?
Got right in at 7:00 and spoke to the most pleasant lady! I used the ZVY code for DM and me, 1/6-1/13 at AsMu with 6 day passes + DDP for $1538.18. I saved a little over $200 which equals the ticket upgrades plus a 15% room discount.

Couldn't apply the new general public code to my reservation - AKL coincierge Feb 2-8th (MYW plus dining, 7 day park hopper, NO water parks for $3792.03). CM actually said there weren't ANY rooms at AKL.
So switched to VWL studio for same dates....
VWL studio
MYW with dining
7 day park hopper with water parks & more
TOTAL is $2858.49 vs full price at VWL which would have been $3816.84 (per DisneyWorld website).
Good luck to everyone!

Seriously, I am going to look into it, because he said the savings with an AP are the best...do you passholders agree?

In the past, AP rates have usually been the best. You also have to take into account whether or not you will be returning to WDW within a year, and also consider the other perks of having an AP.
But for our upcoming trip in January to the WL, the AAA room only rate is actually cheaper than the AP rate.

OVERALL = It's like I made a $530.30 payment towards my trip!!!!
I don't know about my in-laws package cause I added 2 more people to their room and also applied the code to their package for the same dates as us at the POLY. Adding 2 more people only increased their cost by $826.84. My father-in-law was impressed. There IS a first time for everything! :dance3:

Ugh, tried to apply the General to my 7 night stay at the poly, but no go. price is still 3400. We're trying a variety of things, removing water parks, removing dining, to try and get that price below 3000. That's the only way DH will agree to it!!! Cross your fingers for me!

Already had a AAA reservation for 2/2-2/10 at POR for 20% off room. Package was avail. but would have dropped room discount to 15% then I would have upgraded the tickets to non-exp but in the end I wound up taking the AP rate which was 33% off and will buy tickets from UT. I just don't think that we would do much hopping or water parks in Feb. Now to just explain to my oldest DD that we are going without her:scared1: (but she has been to WDW several extra times so hopefully she won't be too upset). Good luck to everyone with their plans.

I just got back from my TAs office. We had a pre-paid package Jan 1-7 with dinning and 6 day base tickets. We dropped the AAA code to get the upgraded tickets code. I had to move from POP to Sports and pay $19 but that is a small price to pay for the ticket upgrade.
I did have a good AAA discount already. I just went to Disney to check standard rates for my package and it is $2033.79 so since I paid $1638.00, I saved a total of 395.79
I do hate that I had to leave POP though.

We originally booked through AAA - the code did not save us any money, but it did give us the upgraded park hopper tix and it also saved us the $$ we would have spent renewing our AAA membership, so not too shabby!:thumbsup2
Jan. 17-24
2 adults, 2 kids (2 and 3)
AKL standard view
Dining Plan
Original price through AAA (standard base tix, no hopper): $2817.32
New price w/ code (includes hopper): $2821.01
I was a little worried that the MLK weekend would be blackout days, but the lady who helped me said there was no blackout date, at least not for AKL.
I'm also hoping that by booking directly through Disney we may increase our chances of a room upgrade (don't ask me what my logic is - just wishful thinking, I guess!).
By the way - I did not call until 8am West Coast time and only waited a couple minutes.
So psyched for this trip now!

Hello, well after painfully watching and waiting on the code watch boards, I stayed up till 12AM saw the code come thru for ZVY .I had booked originally Poly cong lagoon for jan 29-feb 6 ,7 day park hopper and added basic dining for aprox $6800. Called at 6.55 am talked to the sweetest CM in a about 12 minutes got my code applied I guess it gave us park hopper water park and possible a small room discount (still trying to figure that one out) my new price was about $6300. I have not yet recieved a new reservation on my email, think I'll have to call and reconfirm what we have and get a print out. Just happy to be a little sleep deprived and save $500.00!!! :goodvibes I tried pricing out my vacation package on disney site but there are no rooms available for the time period so I can't figure out my savings other than a ticket savings of about $200, Has anyone been able to figure out the breakdown on the rooms? Just want to show my DH what I did and maybe get a pat on the back:laughing: Anyone Know the price of a POly lagoon conc. room at value season and I can figure it out from there? Thanks and good luck everyone this has been a lot of fun.:thumbsup2

TA e-mailed today with this great news for our 1/26-2/02 CSR stay--2 adults, 11 y/o, 6 y/o--standard room, DDP:
Your new vacation package total is $2774.26 and includes a free upgrade of your park tickets to include the Water Parks, Fun & More Option. That’s a $349.18 savings over your current reservation total and a $562.26 savings over the non-discounted price of the same reservation with those park ticket options.
I measure our vacation payment in how many days I have to work (I'm a substitute teacher) to pay for our vacation--so now, its a few days less!!

Well I've already switched my reservation four times now LOL!
I started with a room only AAA rate of $212.50/night for woods view at WL.
Then I went with a AAA magic moments package (w/ dining and park hoppers) for woods view at WL for $3280.00.
So the code comes out and I call Disney and get the gen public code this morning but they don't have woods view available for 1/20 - 1/26. They have courtyard view bunk beds though for $3,475 or a standard room for $2,944 (with dining). I go ahead and book the courtyard bunk beds and decide to then cancel the AAA reservation. When I went to call my AAA agent, she questioned why I didn't go with standard and says when she went there she had a great standard view and the great savings on the standard room I should grab.
So she got me thinking, and I went ahead and called Disney back and switched my package to standard view and cancelled the AAA reservation.
I wish I could have had my AAA agent convert my woods view AAA package to a woods view Disney code package but she said she couldn't.
Ah well.

I'm gonna jump in here for some clarification, if I may...
I have had an AP for years, and used to get the Disney Dining Experience Card. However, I didn't renew my AP this year. I want to book an October 2008 trip with the dining plan. I've never booked a package before, so I'm a little out of my element.
The only way to get a AAA discount AND the dining plan is to book through a AAA travel agent-- is this correct?
If a general code comes out, can/will the AAA travel agent apply the code automatically rather than use the AAA discount (which I am assuming would be less)? I think there was a poster who said that their AAA TA couldn't convert their AAA package to a Disney code package. Am I better off just booking a package on my own and waiting (hoping) for a general code to come out?
Thanks!

I had my AAA agent tell me they couldn't convert my AAA package to a code package. But now as I'm reading more posts it seems someone else may have gotten this to happen. Maybe it was just my AAA agent? In which case I'm none too happy!
Anyway, I'd still book a AAA package and you can always do what I did, which is book your code package separately and then cancel the AAA package. That way you're assured a discount no matter what. Sometimes AAA package rates sell out.

Actually, that's my other concern. I've heard some horror stories about some pretty uninformed AAA agents (and in all fairness, I have heard about some really good ones!). I'm the anal planner of the family and have booked my trips on my own for the past 12 years. I think I would hate someone else handling my reservation! :lmao: I'll probably drive the agent crazy...

Yes, your AAA TA can apply the code on your package. In August, I booked two rooms at Pop for Jan. 23-26, with basic dining and 7-day park hoppers. Total $2930. When the Disney Visa code came out this week, I went in and had her apply the code, and the new price is $2778, a savings of $152.

Here's my story - sorry it's sooo long but I promise it's worth reading if you believe in magic!! DF and I have been booked at POR for our honeymoon for about 6 months. FINALLY the general public code came out and I sent it to our TA on the 31st (it came out about 11pm) and haven't heard from her. No email no phone call. She won't answer my emails of phone calls.... SHE FELL OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH. So last night I'm thinking GREAT this code is gonna be all gone and i'm gonna be stuck :guilty: SO  BRIGHT IDEA thanks to lollipopsmom (who helped me TONS last night). I priced a package last night online and NO ROOMS LEFT AT POR or POFQ with the code.... But low and behold AKL was coming up as having rooms avail with the code and to upgrade wouldn't cost a dime according to the quote online!!!! WHAT?!?!?!? COULD THIS BE?!?!?! We are only 19 and 21 years old and could only DREAM of affording a Deluxe resort such as AKL at this point in time.... At this point I'm shaking..... Nerves on edge.... I decide to print the quote and get up at 6:30 am to start trying to get through -- My goal was to be on the phone with a CM at 6:59am. It's now 2am and I can get 5 hours of sleep. I get up, sign on to the DISboard to request pixie dust, and then begin calling. 6:58 and I'm online with CM. I tell him it's our first time and our honeymoon and he says "Lets see what we can do, I'm sure you deserve some extra magic" :) Finally he tells me what I already know, POR and the code will not work... I timidly ask about AKL and he puts me on hold for about 15 minutes :scared1: AHHHHHHH..... Then he comes back. "Well the future Mrs. Plyler (my soon to be name) it looks like I can book your honeymoon at the AKL using the discount code and actually still save you $60". OMG i'm dying at this point. 5 day hopper
dining plan
POLY
was $2669.69
now $2359.45
SAVINGS $310.24:banana:

Why don't you get a 9 day hopper and a 1 day hopper? Aren't two 5 day hooper are more expensive....
Still trying to get a handle on these tickets, been using up old tickets for awhile. :)

6 Nights...Jan 24th-30th
Port Orleans Riverside - standard view
6 day ticket (plus the free park hopper/water parks) for 2 adults
$1469.14
Without the discount it would have been $1672.62. A savings of $203.48
But if we wouldn't have gotten the discount we would not have added the water parks. We just would have added the park hopper...so we would actually have paid $1566.08. So really only a savings of $96.94 for us.

Code didn't work for me, but the CM almost talked me into getting an AP!!:lmao:
Seriously, I am going to look into it, because he said the savings with an AP are the best...do you passholders agree?
Normally AP rates are the best. This year it was not for me. We actually saved more with AAA discount. But we get 2 10 day trips and often sneak in a 3rd shorter trip with each AP so that makes it worth it to us even if the room discount isn't what we hoped it would be.

Just saw this update. Congratulations!!!
I think I mentioned in another thread that we honeymooned last May at Disney. Are you going to sign up for the Disney Honeymoon Registry? For us it worked out great. It had just started up when we were planning our trip and a lot of our wedding guests loved that they could give us a dinner or a gift towards our room.

No, we don't plan on using the honeymoon registry because we REALLY need as many items on our gift registry as possible. We are 19 and 21 and still living at home so we basically are starting from scratch!!

Gotcha! We had been living together for 11 years, so we were pretty much all set on that front. We obviously don't rush into anything. :lmao:
