February 2008 Pre Trip Report [Archive] - The DIS Discussion Forums

Hi , This will be my first pretrip report so bear with me.
Let me introduce the caste .. Me Myself & I, Yup I,m going solo and so excited. I went earlier this year with DD & GKS and fell in love with Disney.
Let's say I am a mature lady ( but a kid at heart) well here goes...
Feb 8th Leave snowy(I'm sure) Buffalo NY on SWA at 7:15 am
arrive Orlando around 10am. With luck I'll be at Pop by noon. Plan to eat lunch at Pop. We loved the hotel and the foodcourtthere! Can taste the Twinkie Tiramusu already. Oh yes I have DDP !! Have supper ressies at Capt Jack's for 5pm, then am heading to MK for Spectra and my first Dis meet!!

Day 2 Saturday.. This is shaping up to be a FUN packed day. I plan to sleep in a little then head over to MGM to see a couple of shows then I will goto MK for a while before heading to Contemporary to start the Fireworks cruise with Peter Pan followed by my first ever P&PP at MK I can't wait. I just got my P&P& tickets which makes it sooo real!! Stay tuned!!

In the Doing the Happy Dance forum there is a list that Yearbook 50 has put together of everyone going in February. I think there's one in the Countdown forum as well, but the Happy Dance Forum one is more complete. So check it out. Alot of people going in February.

Day 6 Wed. 13th No parks Hang out at Pop .. Do I hear DIS MEET !! Dinner ressies in DTD at Raglan Road at 7pm Then on to Pleasure Island and AC to meet up with Mr & Mrs Yearbook!! Sorry Melli!! Anyone else care to join us!!

Haha. Its ok. I'm sure Shan would laugh at that "Mr. & Mrs. Yearbook."

I'm hoping as we get closer more Disers will care to join us.

I haven't seen the parade with kids either I did it solo, they all pooped out on me and since seeing the pix on these boards are sorry!! I am so undecided what to eat at Raglan, I like the sound of the stuffed pork, and am so tempted by the Sole & chips but afraid it comes with head on or something similar!! Then of course I get misty eyed over Bangers & mash agreat fav. of mine growing up (Engish Rose) Everyone raves about Gers bread pudding so I have to try that Oh these decisions !!!:lmao:

SusieQ - I've done the Rose & Crown thing a number of times. This usually works for us.

Show up early (like 20 minutes) before your ADR time, and ask to be seated near the water. They will try to accomodate you but cannot be bought (I tried to slip them a $20 but they won't take it). Sometimes, you'll be seated right away and other times it might take 30 minutes. Once you're at your table, take your time ordering. Drink first... then an appetizer... then the main course... then coffee or desert. In other words, stall! You don't want to be sitting there with the meal done at 8:15 and the waiter looking at you like "when are you leaving?".

Let's set it up!!
Day 8 my last day ,sniff !! Up early do a little laundry pack up and check out by 11am then head for DTD for something to eat maybe PH with c/o or Earl of Sandwich not sure!! then back to Pop in time for ME sniff sniff
Now as I am such a Disney addict I will be thinking about my next trip in 2009 which I think will be for the F&W .!!

yup yup to both! i'm in disney right now. well, not this second. i'm at my friend's parents' house, just wasting time till we go over their friend's house for thanksgiving dinner. can't wait! this is my first day off from the parks since i've been here. it's been great! but very crowded the past 2 days.

Yes Jo I plan to get the filet ,dessert is up in the air ! I don't like maple flavor,and am not a big choc dessert eater. I do like vanilla creme brulee though!! Oh these decisions!!:lmao: I just picked up my laptop from Walmart now I have to get help gettin it hooked up. DD's friend has said she will so hopefully this week I'll be up and running! I can't wait. Also got the DGDs laptops from all of us for Xmas !!:banana:

I don't think much has changed. I am meeting upwith lots of Dissers during my stay or at least that's the plan! We have a GG booked thru these boards and then some of us are going to P&PP on the 9th. Trying new restaurants and will be getting the filet at Le Cellier Jo!! It is a month today I can't wait. I have a photopas share, a coffee pot swap,and a fridge swap . The Dis is the best!!Hopefully some of the Dissers I meet will take pix and then you can see an English Rose:rotfl2:

Day 3 Sun 10th Epcot in am Eat lunch or snack around the world I've been eyeing a cheese plate in France1 Pop in the afternoon .Hoping to meet up with Dissers!! Mk for supper at CP with Marshand then we will watch Spectra & Wishes!!
Day 4Mon 11thAK for EMH in am Lunch at Pizzafari Supper at Boma 5pm then Spectra at 8pm I can't get enough of Spectra!!
More to come!!

Your day three will be our last day:( :( We are checking out of AKL on the 10 and heading over to epcot until lunch. Then we have to head back to AKL to catch magical express back to the airport. I might see you in epcot.:thumbsup2 I hope you have a wonderful trip:banana:

You'll find me at Soarin as close to 9 as I canmake it from the front gate, then heading to the land we sort of skipped that other than GG last time. At 11 I will be heading for the world I will have on my trusty TF lanyard so will be easy to spot , the old lady with a lime green lanyard and an english accent, that's me:rotfl2:
