We are!!
It will be our 14th anniversary and our family's first cruise (2 boys ages 7 & 10)
Since discovering this forum, my nights have been filled with dreams of secret portholes, dinner rotations, snorkeling, midnight desserts, and on and on....
It just can't get here fast enough!:bounce:
Maybe we'll see you on board - we'll be the ones in awe of it all!

Hi all fellow cruisers on Magic's April 6th cruise.
My Mother, Daughter 17 and I will also be cruising on that date and would love to meet up with all of you. I had posted a 'whose sailing' a couple of weeks ago but I guess it was still early yet, though we did hear from JIll ( Two4ruff). Is any one interested in a Dis meet on board? I would love to have a meet if any one is interested.

Hi -
I'm not on your cruise, but I made this countdown timer for my friend, Wenabre and her family, and they're on your cruise.
The Countdown Timer is a java applet and will dynamically count down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds to your cruise.
It's set for 5pm on April 6, 2002, the official embarkation time, and when the Magic usually pulls out of port.
Let me know if there are any problems with the timer.
<APPLET CODEBASE="http://www27.brinkster.com/allanbiats/" CODE="BeanCounterDate.class" WIDTH=262 HEIGHT=200>
<param name="date" value="6 Apr 2002 17:00:00">
<param name="display" value="days, seconds">
<param name="imagefont" value="http://www27.brinkster.com/allanbiats/7segSmallRed.gif">
<param name="background" value="http://www27.brinkster.com/allanbiats/magicmodk.jpg, 1, 172, 224, 25">
</applet>
Enjoy your cruise! There are a lot of us that wish we could join you. My personal timer has a much higher count than this one!

none of you guys have answered if you are interested in a DIS meet on board, anyone interested? I will look really silly sitting somewhere like Deck 7 aft, or in a lounge talking to myself, by myself. :crazy: So how about a DIS meet!!:D

Only 6 weeks to go, anyone starting to get excited yet?
I thought for the DIS meet we should make it on Sunday morning around 11am or in the afternoon around 2pm. I thought the first day might be a bit too crazy with people running around getting their bearings and booking things or the usual heads bent in all directions saying " OOOH and AAAHH and WOW"!! :bounce: :D :bounce:
So if anyone has any ideas of another time, please post them here and we can all decide together.
Hope to hear from you soon!

I'm jealous...haven't seen ours yet!

You're jealous?.....a whole week at WDW before the cruise....I'm jealous! Where will you be staying? We will have one night at the Swan and Dolphin before ours. I didn't want to take my DD out of school for too long a time as she is in a semestered system and missing a day is like missing a week. The only reason we are even coming down a day before is our airline couldn't get us into Orlando till 4pm on the Saturday. Are you planning on any excursions? I believe you said that this was your first cruise? Its our second, we did the Wonder in Dec 2000 and loved it so much that we deceided to do another only longer! I know you are going to love it!

Hi, this will be our family's first cruise! We are a big group with DDs 12, 7, 4, and DS 11. Love to find out who has kids our ages. Our pre-teen daughter especially! We're counting the days until we set sail to the beautiful carribean!

Wenabre-
We are staying "econo" at the Comfort Suites...saving all the money for the cruise! (Actually, my husband is in the Air Force and Disney has been very generous to the military right now with some great discounts)
No real excursions planned...just some beach combing on each island, my kids have never seen the ocean! They have been covered up all winter with hockey gear so they will probally go into sun shock the first day!;)
Still no documents yet...
Can we speed up that countdown clock??

First answer, no you can't speed up the countdown clock, because even though this trip has been booked since Jan 3/01, I am still not organized...and to boot, we are under construction bathroom wise one should be finished this week and the powder room gets started next week, oh the joys of dry wall dust everywhere!!
Hi bweppner, I think this is the first time you have posted on this thread. I have been trying to talk everyone into a Dis meet onboard for the Sunday, are you interested? As everyone is mentioning their kids and ages, I will as well. The first Disney Nut Kid is over 70, oops thats my Mom....my Disney ( Tigger Nut Supreme ) Daughter is 17 ( 18 in June ) and I am a Disney Mom who is.....happy to meet you all!!

on Deck 7 aft ( back end of the ship ) on the outside deck. Is that OK with everyone? I checked the navigators and it looks like one of the best times, when not too many other things are going on.
Does anyone have any ideas for ' an ice breaker '?
I'll start with one idea-- How about once we find out how many families are going to come we get that many postcards of our home town and write our names, Dis names, ages?, favourite characters and cabin #'s on them and then it might help to put names to faces etc. I think that there is only about 5 or 6 families that have expressed any interest in a meet, so the postcards shouldn't cost more than a couple of dollars and its something we can do on our trip(s) down to Florida. What do you all think or how about another idea?
So we can now start the count :
1) wenabre, DD and Mom
Who's next?
Can't wait to hear from you all, 15 days to go.....

Does anyone else want to come out and play?
Its SNOWING here again and I am begining to show signs of extreme cabin fever. I need someone to boost my morale, so come on people, write in and say you'll come to a DIS meet and don't forget to think of an ice breaker.
PS: If you think I am a little over the edge, your right!!:eek:

My DD and I are very much into Disney Pins ( we are not quite at the addiction phase yet....) and would love to trade pins. We are no sure how many we'll bring with us as I don't know how security at the airports will react to many pins and I am leary about putting them in my luggage.
But looking forward to seeing you on board!

My wife & I are celebrating our 35th Anniversary on the 4/6 Cruise
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
We kinda hang around the Collectors Board.
My wife's handle is Shirley 38, and my handle is john59. My wife is a big time Pin Collector and Trader (and Cast Member).
I am not a trader (pins), but I do have a special collection.
All of our Collection is DIS, and we have been collecting since 1976.
We (except me, 1 year) have been to WDW every year at least once, and up to 5X in one year, since 1976. We live in Philly.
Hope to bump into y'all on the Cruise----Suggestions welcome

Hi
I know several of you have been reading my posts, and wanted to update that we'll be able to go on the cruise, but sadly b/c my mom has passed away. It was a very peaceful passing, and for that we are grateful. She wanted us to go "no matter what," and of course, we wouldn't have if she was still around, but she provided us with our answer.
My girls are 7 and 5 plus 1 day on the boarding day (we're celebrating the 2nd night at dinner).
Any other young girls for pals for the Oceaneer's lab? My girls are really excited about a club for "kids only!"

The weather in Central Florida has been in the low to mid 80s this past week, and we have LOTS of the white stuff, but it's just the sand on the beaches. :D Bring lots of the SPF stuff too.

Yes we too have lots of the ' white stuff ' only ours is cold and tomorrow morning when all the 25 cms is down on the ground I shall be facing it with the help of my trusty snowblower.
I love a white Christmas but these white Easters' are not my idea of a fun time, especially when my Easter Bonnet is a wooly togue!:(

How about everyone who wants to come and trade postcards email me and I will post how many families on Sunday.
I suggested that earlier we buy postcard that show something of our home towns. On the backs we could write our Dis names, real names, ages and cabin numbers. That way if one or two people find they have something in common, ages of children etc and wish to get together on their own after, they know which cabins to find each other. How does that sound?

Hi Everyone...
re the Dis meet:
Date and Time: Sunday April 7th 13:30 ( 1.30pm )
Place : Deck 7 Aft ( back end) of the Ship
there is an outside deck which is
usually quiet ( so I have been told)
Bring to meet : 7-8 postcards from your home town or state
( to let people know where you are from)
write on them your names and Dis names
ages especially children for making friends,
cabin numbers so people can look up people
later on.
So far the response is 7 families have said that they would be interested in doing this. So plan for at least that many and if you can get inexpensive postcards maybe do one extra...just in case. Usually dollar stores have inexpensive ones.
Another suggestion is we do an informal Dis pin trade at the same time. Also a great idea as it gets people talking.
If anyone is interested we could also do a Mystery pin swap, where you bring a pin already wrapped in paper and its put into a bag, those that put a pin in can take one out. You don't know what you are going to get but it can be fun.
I hope to see you all there and I hope I don't come accross as being pushy, I just thought it would be fun for a group of people who have something in common like the Dis boards to meet.:D
We will be leaving on Friday the 5th but if anyone wants to contact me before just email me. If when you get onboard you want to contact me on the first day if you can't come or your are going to be bit late, I will be in Cabin 8028 ( oh so close and yet so far...check the deck plan!? )
One last thing, ANYONE GETTING EXCITED YET?
