A few pointers. The first one is the hardest on us, I've been told. If you're there in the room for the delivery, stay at least an arms length away at all times, and don't have anything on the table near her she can whip at your head. Labor can be a very long process the first time. I don't know what it's like in your country, but if you can shop around to find a hospital with a nice cable package in the room it makes the time go a lot easier.
Joey.....first you call me Yoda then you make me Snow white! Make up your mind! ;)We'll just call you Snoda.

Uh.... who is this us??
And here is some real advice:
1. The person actually in labor gets to control the remote.
2. The next day, don't complain how hard your hand hurts from being squeezed during labor.
3. Don't ever say you wish the labor had lasted longer because you didn't get time to (watch ESPNtheOcho, try all the snacks in the vending machine, use all the techniques you learned in Lamaze, etc etc etc.)

You know, you didn't say which direction she should run;)
Why? are you tired? too excited to sleep? weight gain? weight loss? food cravings? food aversions?
Most of the time
Sometimes

We've had no trick-or-treaters here tonight. Not one. Zilch. First time ever! Meanwhile the next neighborhood over is a frenzy ....

Uh.... who is this us??
And here is some real advice:
1. The person actually in labor gets to control the remote.
2. The next day, don't complain how hard your hand hurts from being squeezed during labor.
3. Don't ever say you wish the labor had lasted longer because you didn't get time to (watch ESPNtheOcho, try all the snacks in the vending machine, use all the techniques you learned in Lamaze, etc etc etc.)I was talking to the future father, and handing on words of wisdom...that's the 'us'.
1. If the person in labor gets the right drugs, most of the labor this doesn't come up. My wife didn't even feel most of her contractions once they pumped her full of the magic juice. That stuff can only do so much, though...once the baby starts coming that leads to point 2...
2. I told him to stay out of arms reach, so there isn't any complaining about a hand hurting.
3. The in-room cable was nice but the TV at home is bigger so who'd want to stay there any longer than possible? Plus there's no internet.

I can't leave this thread for a minute without missing a hooty!
I was too busy reading a certain thread and getting upset at parents of college kids for butting into their kid's personal life... :rolleyes1

Let's get this party started!!

And suddenly I have "The Monster Mash" stuck in my head...
I was leaning toward ConcKahuna. Oh wait... you were quoting me but talking to Scouse-n-Sparky:goodvibes
What can I say, I have the uncanny ability to chime in on conversations 2 weeks old at times. It often leads to confused people, but it's good for gossip and at parties.
