I haven't read or heard of or seen alot of changes lately. Has anyone experienced any lately? I have been watching our flight, when do they usually make their changes? We are going in May and I am curious. I have my fingers crossed that they don't cancel our flight or make to dramatic of a change. Thanks for any information.

We had booked our April 2002 flight back in July 2001. After 09/11/01 a lot of changes were made in flight schedules, including the cancellation of one leg of our flight in each direction. I simply called the airlines (Midwest Express) in November and they rebooked us onto other flights (and they are providing $100 each way to put us up in a hotel since there's no reasonable layover).

If your flight still exists and hasn't changed, you might be okay. I'd check every couple of weeks, and if you notice any significant changes then call your airline. As you get closer to your flight date (i.e. sometime in April) I'd start checking more frequently.

The airlines typically will let you know about changes, but I wouldn't hang my hat on that.

The only changes lately for us have been two flights (one in Jan. and one in Feb.) that were bumped to about 20 mins. later. Both were on American Airlines (same flight number, different months). In Nov. we encountered United cancellations with our Thanksgiving trip, but I think things have settled down a lot now.

We booked our package for November 2002 through DTC in January. Yesterday, I noticed on the USAir website our flights were no longer listed. Called DTC and they said that flights were changed (luckily no more than 20 minutes) and they would be sending us a flight schedule confirmation. Apparently USAir notified them on February 9, and I just got my notice in the mail today.

That's just my experience.

booked april flights in june and come to find out after 9/11 the flight was cancelled. Only other flight was 8 hours later so we refused. They offered us money back or first class direct out of boston. As boston is only 1 hour further away we opted for that as all flights are now triple the price. This was american airlines, very accomodating.
