Just curious if previous cruisers leave a gratuity when eating at the sit down Lumier's for Breakfast or Lunch? What about Parrot Cay, Topsiders?
We DIDN"T as I was under the assumption that the gratuity that is left at the main meal, actually covers the servers for their service the entire day. Even though you probably don't have the SAME server during the day, as the evening, SOMEONE would have paid the gratuity for that server?
Now, I am second guessing myself -- and hoping that I wasn't assuming incorrectly?
Thanks

We were on the 12-8 Magic and I agree with your take on this subject. We only ate breakfast at a restaurant other than Topsiders once, and that was disembarkation morning. I often saw our server and assistant server working Topsiders during the day so I would assume the sit-down restaurants are staffed similarly.

One of the days that we had lunch at Lumieres, the service was excellent and we decided to tip each of our servers accordingly. They seemed most appreciative and they deserved a little extra since they had done a fine job making our lunchtime dining experience so wonderful.
I guess that it's up to the individual.

We operated under the same assumption as you, Jody.

The only time we left a gratuity at lunch (we have yet to eat in the dining room for breakfast, except on the final day) was if we ordered a beverage that was not free. With that you get a charge slip you can sign. Since I carry no cash on the ship and since with the regular breakfast and lunch (with no extra beverages) there is no charge slip to sign, I don't believe any extra gratuity is expected. :)
