I have a neighbor who is willing to transfer some of his unused points to my account for an upcoming trip in June 2008. He has an April use year and these are from his Apr 2007 points. Does his use year have any affect as to when I must schedule the trip by? In other words, he is concerned that since his points would expire in Apr 2008, that I wouldn't be able to use them for a June 2008 trip.

Thanks in advance for your help.

He can transfer his Apr 07 points to you. You can then bank them into 2008 and use them for a June 2008 reservation. After you bank them, any poitnsnot used will expire if not used in March 2009.

Be careful, because you cannot do it the other way. If your neighbor banks his points, he cannot then transfer them to you. At that point, he would have to make the june 2008 reservation in your name using his points.

Best of luck -- Suzanne

Technically, they are supposed to expire in March 2008, but you could bank them.

However, Member Services software doesn't seem capable of tracking more than one use year month per member account. Assuming you are both in your 2007 use years, there shouldn't be a problem...but I would call Member Services prior to the transfer to be certain.

Are you talking about pistonfan32? He posted a message about his points. See Doc's answer to him.
