I was just looking at the airfare for OCt. OUCH!!!
Does anyone know in the past if you gotta a good rate in Oct? and if so when you booked.
I'm okay driving, but I would rather fly, since we have 4 kids it needs to be an okay rate.

Thanks

I'm in the same boat! Hope some good rates come out in the next couple months....I'm not driving, no way...so I'll pay what I have to, but still hoping for some good rates. Maybe someone knows what usually happens for October,...not counting last year of course.

Keep checking here and at Expedia.com and Orbitz.com and at the airline's webistes. Deals come up at a moment's notice for no reason and disappear as quickly as they come.

January 28, I read here that AA.com was having a sale in the New England area to Orlando for Fall travel. I ran over and checked and sure enough it was true! Thanks to this board I bought my tickets for October 26 - Nov 1 for $102.50 including all fees and taxes thru Orbitz.com (they were $30 cheaper than AA.com). That's the times and dates I wanted and non-stop out of Logan. I couldn't believe my eyes! The very next day, those prices were gone and back up to $220.

That being said, I've always read here that it's better to buy about 2 months before, but I can never wait that long! That's when the sale prices come out.

Good luck!

Airfare around here,(Baltimore - BWI), seems to always go down when you get a little closer to your travel dates, (i.e. a couple of months out). I usually panic, and book further in advance, much to my wifes chagrin, and we end up paying a little more. Anything under $200.00 N/S is good enough for me! Does SW fly out of your airport?? Good Luck!
