* OKW big balcony (any unit) for breakfast and at sunrise and sunset
* OKW Jacuzzi for a relaxing early morning start to my day (just like at home)
* Watching the animals on the Savanna....Haven't done this with DVC yet (even though we have at the regular lodge), but will be doing this on our first AKV trip in March!
* Taking the pontoon boat to DTD OR the walkway from OKW.
* Sitting at the outdoor tables outside Beaches and Cream eating a double cone!
* Relaxing in the big OKW living room at night with videos and games.
* teasing the golfers from the balcony when I have one of the OKW units overlooking a green!

At BCV (when I'm solo), my favorite is sitting in a swing on the beach at night, either looking at the Boardwalk all lit up or watching a beach movie (I really enjoy them!)
If I'm at OKW(with DH), my favorite is the benches between Olivia's and Gurgling Suitcase, with an adult beverage, waiting for Illuminations or WIshes to begin, then I run over to the bridge (after looking both ways) over the golf course water to watch the fireworks.

The walkway from MGM back to the Boardwalk at night
A pool view room being able to watch the little kids have the time of their lives on the Keister Coaster
A savanah-view room at AKV
Sitting in the Wilderness Lodge (or Animal Kingdom Lodge) and feeling so small as you look up -- and the wonderful view of looking up when decorated for Christmas

Just casually walking back from epcot to Boardwalk at the end of a great day.
OKW
At OKW I love sitting at the bar at the Gurgling Suitcase with DH and joking around with the bartender. The walkway between OKW and DD is great for an early morning stroll. And of course the balcony of 1-3 bedrooms most anytime of the day with a nice glass of wine. Almost forgot the pontoon boat to DD, definitely a relaxing way to get there too.
BCV & BWV
Relaxing on the verandah of the Bellvue Room late at night with an after dinner drink. Watching the entertainment go by while sitting at a table at Big River Grille for a snack and drink. Sipping a martini at Martha's Vineyard. Watching the Epcot fireworks from an upper balcony in the Ariel Courtyard.
AKL
Having a drink at the lounge above Boma's. Just sitting and relaxing in the lobby. And having a wonderful dinner at Jiko.
WLV
Dinner at Artist Point! Relaxing on the swing at the end of the dock. Walking the trail to Fort Wilderness. Sitting in the lobby with a hot chocolate by the fire.

Yeah, we had our DVC member get together in the Iron Spike room a few years ago.
We have two - one sitting on the porch (one bedroom or larger) at OKW when the sun is just coming up and drinking OJ or hot chocolate while I'm still in my PJs watching the groundskeepers mowing the lawn. Other one is sitting outside at Olivia's, eating breakfast, again, early in the morning with a plate of bacon and eggs in front of me.

We have special memories from all the WDW/DVC resorts. Some of our favorites are:
* a boardwalk view villa --is wonderful. At night it is truely beautiful and magical!!!
*a villa at BCV which then allows access to Stormalong Bay. Absolutely love this pool. For us, it is worth paying the extra points.
* a BCV or BWV villa for the wonderful and convenient location to Epcot and MGM and Illuminations, Fantasmic, etc.
*a VWL villa for it's wonderful location to MK and all it's extras; such as the electrical light parade, MK fireworks, etc.
*a OKW villa for the larger villas and outside porches-- that are to die for!
* a villa at Saratoga with a DTD view!
They are all great! Enjoy!!!

I have to agree about the outdoor dining a Olivia's too! Many times we have sat out there stretching a meal into a couple of hours just to enjoy the visit and the iced tea refills!

The gazebo at SSR.
Sitting on the balcony at SSR (Congress Park) in the morning or evening, looking at DTD across the lake, watching the ducks go by, and drinking either coffee or wine (depending on the time of day).
Sitting in rocking chairs on the big porch at BWV watching a storm... amazing and beautiful view!

We often arrive at MCO late on Saturday evening (from the UK) and with a 5-hour time difference, find it very easy to be up really early on Sunday morning, so ..........
I just love the low-lying mist around Community Drive and going over the small bridge before the entrance to OKW, looking at the Spanish moss hanging from the trees. Then, checking in (before 7 am) and walking around HH, knowing 'I'm back' and watch the resort come to life. Aaaah :cloud9:

BWV - boardwalk view room and watching Illuminations from the balcony. Activity on the boardwalk at night, it's like a carnival.
OKW - sitting on porch early in the morning and watching the rabbits & ducks (this was a favorite of my late mom).

Exactly. I think that I have as much fun at these great resorts as I do at the parks. They are all so beautiful.
I just love all the different places in this thread, I want to experience them all. For most of us, we have been to many of these places and can remember how it felt.

I like eating there also! My husband and I ate there the first time we went to WDW alone...a fond memory. I think my favorite though is quite simple. I love sitting on the balcony, at BWV or BCV, having coffee just as the sun is rising. And I'm not a morning person! There's just something to the simple joy of watching the "World" come alive. I haven't stayed at AK, but I imagine it's pretty special there too.

Aah yes! I can't wait to experience that "home" feeling. Some people just don't understand what going to Disney means to me. It's much more than the parks. Where I stay is a significant part of my vacation.

While we're very fond of the balconies at OKW, the porches at HH with rockers and the fishing pier over the marsh, the balcony of the Green Cabin room at Vero, we realized how much one spot at OKW means to our family.
Several times over the past few years we have gone to OKW over New Years. The parks are really fun on New Years Eve Day but very crowded. Our children were younger, so we would leave the parks around 9 and go back to our villa. Around 11:30 we would head for the bridge over Trumbo Canal up by the HH. From there you can see fireworks from several locations all going off... there are usually other revelers there and outside of the Gurgling Suitcase.
My now teenage sons still like to leave the parks early and go back to that spot. We realized what a connection we had made when one of them read about it in Sports Illustrated. He came to me all excited about how some big-deal college recruiting prospect said in an interview that he had proposed to his fiance on that very bridge!
And the often surly teenager that came to me wide eyed and excited about that story reminded me of a little boy I first took to that bridge several years ago....

Sitting in the hot tub at Congress Park after a long, hot day in the Parks and enjoying the sights and sounds of Downtown Disney without being among the crowds!
Especially nice in the early morning hours too, prior to the start of another busy day.

1. Love sitting on the balcony of a boardwalk view room, sipping some spirits, people-watching and seeing the fireworks.
2. Sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch just outside the BWV lobby (actually fell asleep in one in Aug. while killing time waiting to go to airport.)
3. The spa at SSR (can't wait to get another hydrotherapy massage)
4. The arcade at WL (Love the Pac-Man/Galaga machine!)
5. Walking around the frounds at SSR, just taking a leisurely stroll.
6. No matter which DVC I stay at, going to DtD and getting a chocolate shake from Ghirardelli's!

Since I'm a dedicated WLV groupie my favorites tend to be there.
1) Standing right at the doors of the main lobby. No matter how many times I walk in, the sheer size of the lobby is breathe taking.
2) On the boat going from WL to the MK. Right when it makes that turn around the bend and you get the glorious view of the Grand Floridian.
3) Lastly, in the big leather chair in the WL lobby right around 6:00 am. It is so peaceful. I have a cup of coffee and read the newspaper. It's fun watching the lobby come alive as people start their day.

Oh yes. We often visit this area of our beloved Villas of Wilderness Lodge. I hear that there is a secret handshake to be able to get in? I have never had a problem, but have heard that some have.:confused3
Other places at WL/VWL are:
The library area overlooking the lobby (WL). We sit there and read the newspaper (well, I read the paper, husband reads the funnies:lmao: ). Also we love to get the chairs in front of the various fireplaces and just sit and absorb our surroundings. The rocking chair in front of the big fireplace is a good place to sit. The walk from VWL to WL. I can't help it, I just love that walk! I think that is my main reason for having a refillable mug- an excuse to go there!
The area out on the porches at WL overlooking the courtyard. The various nooks and crannies at VWL. Too numerous to mention!!!:yay: :yay:

VWL has been our home since 2001, and I've never seen this! I've spent many a rainy afternoon in the Carolwood Pacific Room reading a good book, but would love to search out this spot when I'm there next week. Can you tell me exactly where it is?
I'd have to say my favorite things are:
Sitting near a speaker by the Hidden Springs pool listening to the awesome WL music while reading a book.
Walking back from the boat dock at night, listening to the crickets and watching the flickering lights.
That first whoosh that you hear when you go through the doors into VWL. To me, that says "Welcome Home!"

do I have to pick???
* OKW at sunset & the beautiful balcony views
* OKW & SSR paths
* DD view at night from SSR & movies at night!
* The amazing views (theme pool or boardwalk views) at BWV
* Wilderness Lodge lobby. I don't care how many times I go in there, I'm in amazement.
* The sand between my toes and the sheer beauty of BCV
* Christmas at any resort!!!
Honestly, I know people have their favorite resorts, but the more I visit, the more I fall in love with each one for very different reasons. :cloud9:

I think there is a grace period for now!
