Did I understand correctly....I can use my DC card like an entrtaiinment card for dinners her in my home town???? That would be awesome. Has anyone had experience with this? I know that my EC has numbers on the back for the restaurant to punch, what would they do on the DC card?

Yes, you can, except it is limited in Orlando, monopolized by Disney. However, you could buy your local Entertainment book for $20.00 - $25.00, instead of paying $30 or $40 for the DC card. If you do not shop often at the DS, its savings could be replaced (and often beat) by the use of codes or even other agencies' discounts at the resorts. AAA often matches the DC discount.

Another thing, your DC card as Entertainment will not replace Entertainment book coupons. You only need to show that card at restaurants and hotels where no coupons are listed, but in Orlando NO hotel takes it, because Disney would rather have you stay in their resorts.

If you are a DC member, log on to disneyclub.com and follow the Entertainment link. Search what comes up under Orlando to see for yourself.

Call the hotel if you want to use your DC card for an EC discount in Orlando. Some of the hotels are extending the courtesy. Swan/Dolpin had been accepting it. It doesn't really matter to the hotel, they are not getting paid from EB, Disney doesn't allow the Orlando hotels to be featured/promoted for obvious reasons but nothing stops the hotel from giving you a discount.

Many people don't realize that you can use it in your home town for restaurants. We just used it the other night and got 20% off of our total check. Just go to the DC site, click on the Entertainment icon and select restaurants. I think you can plug in your zip code and it will list the restaurants that participate near you. We don't have a whole lot of them to choose from, but a couple of them are pretty close to us.

ceecee, I don't think Orlando's list is in a different area. Just follow the Entertainment link and do a search. If you searched by location, what you see is what you get.

If you still find it hard to believe, e-mail them and ask that they send you updated information. I did, and it turned to be no different from what the search pulled out.

The DC value as an Entertainment card is too hyped on these boards.
