Distance from shuttle dropoff to 1/2 start?

We will be staying at Pop. If we took the shuttle to the start area, does it get you close or do you have to walk a ways or ?? If a person were to DRIVE to the start, what's parking like?

Just planning ahead to conserve my energy, you know...

There are two staging areas. I would say that to get to the start you have to make two half mile trips from the bus drop off. Last year I brought a stool for the full and sat on that. No one ever objected so I had it until the start of the race. I have not driven but it looked tough to me.

you can not drive to the actual start line, it's walking only from the bus drop off area. i was thinking it was like 1/2 mile there too.....you'll be fine....you'll be pumped and excited and think of it was warming up your legs. it's very casual strolling to the start line

i thought about driving from the resort to the drop off area and was discouraged by experienced WISHers and the headache of traffic i don't think would be worth the time, if any, saved

I agree it is about 1/2 mile to the staging area. I remember getting off the bus in a sea of people and just following the crowd. It was quite intimidating at first until I found other WISHers. Then walking to the "corrals" (if you can call them that, they were pretty loosely managed), it was about another 1/2 to mile.
