One of my favorite things about the Polynesian is the music that is played on the grounds. In fact I was very disappointed that they didn't have it on all of the time during our stay in January:( I had to hear the speedway instead:eek: There is something about walking on the grounds listening to the songs of the South Seas'.
I think I remember African music being played at the AKL? Can you hear it from your balcony?

I agree. I love the music at the Polynesian that is played by the quiet pool and along the paths. Does anyone know where I might obtain a list of the songs and artists, or even better yet, a web site with a recording of the music?

OKW has Disney songs played on steel drums, as well as some classic Key West fav's (Margaritaville). I don't know if it plays resort wide..I think just at Hospitality and Turtle Pond pools.

POFQ used to have jazz music playing. Loved it. Really added to the theming.

I believe most of the resorts have some sort of music....
AKL had African music, I especially loved hearing it at the pool and the bus stop. There is music playing at Arusha rock, so if your balcony is close, you may be able to hear it. We couldn't.
CBR plays Calypso. I remember hearing it at OPR and the bus stops.
CSR plays 'mexican.' music. We were at CSR at Christmastime, so I heard "Feliz Navidad" more times than I care to remember!!!
I heard classic Disney Songs at the Contemporary.

I can remember years ago we stayed at the YC. It had not been open very long. They played music in the lobby that stuck with you ALL day. I remember my sister and I talked to the CMs at the front desk about it. They told us everyone either loved it or hated it. They were having a contest trying to find where the music was coming from and how to shut it off. We liked the music, but there weren't enough songs. It would repeat very quickly through the same music.
We have been back many times to the Epcot resorts but we have never heard this music again.

CBR had steelband music playing - calypso style - on Parrot Cay. We stayed in the Aruba section, so our walk to OPR included a trip across the bridge and over Parrot Cay... and the stroll was always made nicer by the music playing.
Port Orleans Riverside had DixieLand banjos playing in the food court area and the shops. I did not notice it on the grounds though.

Wilderness Lodge plays music throughout the lobby. I'm quite sure there is music playing outside by the pool area also.
There is music playing at the BW area.

Wilderness Lodge had music at the pool & in the lobby & at the bus stop. It was cowboy music ...it reminded me of "BEEF ...it's what's for dinner". I thought it was pretty funny & cool:)

The music at the WL (lobby, pool, & bus stops) reminded us of that old commercial for the Beef Industry. "BEEF....it's what's for dinner"! I had to laugh, but it was pretty cool just the same!

We liked the music at WL so much we tried to by a copy. Not available:(
BUT we did get a list of the songs from a CM in the gift shop and had a lot of fun tracking down some of the songs.

One of the WL songs that loops is the music from "Dances With Wolves." The Beef song is called Baroque Hoedown I think.....something like that!
I was under the impression that all the resorts played theme music in their lobbies and some outdoor areas.

I too have a list of all the songs from WL, the "beef, it's whats for dinner song" is "Hoedown, Buckaroo Holiday from Rodeo by Aaron Copeland:) and they do play a lot of his music....
if you want to hear it, just go to amazon.com and enter into the search menu box classical music, second box Billy the kid ,submit and click on the first title -Copeland :Rodeo/Billy the kid, scroll down and you will see a list of clips to listen to ... #4 is Hoedown

Ah, I love the music at Wilderness Lodge - I always remember hearing it at the bus stop. :)
Joanne M - You brought back some memories ... the Baroque Hoedown is the name of the song used in the Main Street Electrical Parade theme - I love that music! :)
