I can hardly believe this trip was over so soon. It seems with each passing trip they end more rapidly. It feels like we should still be planning and here it is over already. I shouldnt complain, after all this was our 4th trip this year, but it for sure was the quickest!!

Ok so as in my horrible pre-trippie I will once again give warning that I make no claim to being a writer of any sort. AT ALL. I will ramble, jump around and make no sense at least 1 time in every update.

So off we goooooo.....
Trip Date- Oct 6-14th 2007

Cast
Me-Theresa, 33 years old. I am a Disney freak. As a child we went to Disney just about every year or so. Before kids I was a corporate travel agent. Now I am a SAHM to 2 great boys who keep me on my toes.

DH-We will call him "P". He hardly ever vactioned as a child and never thought there was a need to. His 1st trip to Disney was with me when we were dating. He enjoyed it but didnt understand the "big deal" about it.
He is a avid golfer and a work-o-holic. And guess what.....I CONVERTED HIM !!!!Ok so maybe it was the kids who did but who cares....HE NOW LOVES DISNEY

DS5-Lets call him "Happy".Why? Well he is just about the happiest kid out there. He always has a smile on and is very easy going. Dont get me wrong he has his moments, but there are not alot of them. Well I guess what they say is true "the apple doest fall far from the tree" because from the word go he has loved Disney. He asks LOTS of questions and needs to know how everything works. His 1st trip was last October.

DS2-Lets call him "Bashful". Ok, so he is my little devil, but he is shy. He is also funny, sneeky and FULL of personality. One more important fact...he is the troublemaker! Oh, and we cant forget that he knows just how to get under Happys skin. He NEVER stops talking. Loves all things Disney, especially Woody. His 1st trip was also last October(of course)

My parents and brother also came along on this trip with us, they will from time to time appear here as well.
They are Grammie,Poppy, and Uncle C

Ok so some of you may know that last Christmas P surprised us with the most fabulous gift of DVC as an extra "little" gift for the family. We have been to Disney 3 times since then and never stayed at DVC. This would mark the 1st trip to our Home Resort of VWL. We booked 2 studio rooms(I need my alone time from Mom and Dad), and of course requested that they be near each other. We were excited because it is Disney, but also because we had heard such great things about VWL.

Our flight was scheduled for 845am. We woke the kids about 20mins before our car picked us up as we had to just change them out of pj's and get them out the door. My kids are the type who dont eat until after they are up a while, so we had breakfast at the apt. Being the great mom I am it consisted of dry cereal and goldfish crackers:rotfl2: Hey thats what they requested!Ok so maybe they requested McDonalds but they were going to be having enough junk on this trip so I let them have the 2nd request of cereal and goldfish(you know the healthy option:lmao:) oh and dont forget the water!!
We boarded on time and actually the entire plane boarded rather quickly and efficiently. Then the pilot came on to tell us that we were pushing back from the gate early however we would be arriving Orlando approx 30 mins late due to Air Traffic Control.Go figure. The lovely flight crew(ya right) came around and advised everyone that the cabin door was closed and everyone needed to turn off their computers and DVD players. Not a good thing on a flight full of children!!!Thankfully my parents entertained Bashful and Happy was happy looking at his comic books. I have to say I thought there would be some chaos but all the kids on the flight were pretty good.
We finally got the ok to leave the gate area and go and wait some more in the line for take-off. Finally after about 45 mins we were off and on our way to Disney:woohoo: . Thankfully the flight was uneventful and my kids were soooo good. I even closed my eyes for a few mins, that was a 1st for me.

We arrived into MCO only about 10 min later than our originally scheduled time, not to bad at all:thumbsup2 . We had no bags to collect as we shipped them down a few days ahead of time and they were already waiting for us at VWL. We got ourselves on that pathetic monorail and proceeded right past the baggage claim to see our driver waiting right there for us.ON TIME:thumbsup2
The ride to our hotel is always fun. The kids are engrossed in whatever DVD is on and P and I always point out the billboards to the kids to get them excited. This usually works well however this time Happy informed us that he already knew all the stuff we would see and we didnt have to "bother"them by showing them "again".
We pulled up to WL and everyone was excited. It is so much more beautiful in person. It seems so massive. We entered the lobby and just stood there for a minute taking it all in. It is a great site to see.
I got online to check in while P took the kids to watch some more cartoons because they just had not seen enough today:rotfl2:
There was 1 person in from of me and then it was my turn.

UP NEXT:How long to check in and is our room ready??

Ok so as in my horrible pre-trippie ...
Now stop that T. Not only was your pre-trippie not "horrible", it was terrific! You are soooooo much funnier than you claim!

DS5-Lets call him "Happy".
DS2-Lets call him "Bashful".
Hi Happy! Hi Bashful! I'm sorry we didn't get to see you guys again. :guilty:

We have been to Disney 3 times since then and never stayed at DVC. This would mark the 1st trip to our Home Resort of VWL.
I totally didn't know that! Or did I?

Ok so maybe they requested McDonalds but they were going to be having enough junk on this trip so I let them have the 2nd request of cereal and goldfish(you know the healthy option:lmao:)
:lmao: OMG, OMG, I do the same thinking at WDW! It's a bad sign when Goldfish, Yogurt bars and oraganic potato chips start seeming like a "healthy" break form the daily meals. :crazy2:

...Happy informed us that he already knew all the stuff we would see and we didnt have to "bother"them by showing them "again".
Don't you just love the overly-analytical, rational 5 year old? Party poopers. ;)

One of the things that pushed me over the edge with buying DVC, was I figured these feelings would lessen, nope. Just keeps getting worse;)

I let them have the 2nd request of cereal and goldfish(you know the healthy option:lmao:) oh and dont forget the water!!

Seems healthy enough to me!

Ok so with no wait the next available CM calls us over. Right off the bat I can tell we are in trouble as she did everything in S L O W motion including talking. She was apparently new(she told me several times) because everytime she asked me a question she then excused herself to go speak with another CM. When she would come back Suzy Slowpoke would type and then ruffle through some papers , again all in S L O W motion. I asked if she needed to see my conf letter or if she was having trouble finding our res and she would reply"No, these darn computers are just slow today". Suzy then started asking if we were DVC members. Ok, we are getting somewhere. Not really. I tell you this in all seriousness it was a full 20 mins and all she did was ask our names and if we were DVC members, then walk back and forth 3 or so times. YES 20 mins!!!I really wanted to jump over the counter and start typing on that computer myself. I mean I prob could have figured it out before she did.
While this is going on P keeps looking over at me and pointing to his watch. He and the kids are hungry(more on that later). I glance back and give him the"do I look like Im having fun" face. He must not have seen the look as he then gave me the hand signal to speed it up. I dont know what he thought I was doing there but I surely wasnt just shooting the breeze.Men I tell ya!!
So finally a CM comes over to help out Suzy Slowpoke. The new CM asks if we are DVC members and if we are staying in the Villas. I advise her we indeed are. New CM tells Suzy that res for guests staying in the Villas are in another screen. Then she walks away. Oh no!!!
Around this time I tell my Mom who is standing with me this whole time that she should get in line and have someone else check her in or we would be here til tomorrow and the kids were hungry.I honestly said that right in front of Suzy, hoping it would start a fire under her butt.
Well Miss Slowpoke couldnt be any quicker to chime in with"Oh no it will just be another minute and I can check you in". UH no thank you. From the look I shot my Mom she knew she had better high tail it on line and check in with someone else. Which she did. Thankfully.
Suzy tells me that my room is not ready and to call into the hotel after 3pm and they would tell me my room number and what time the room would be ready. I asked her if there was any way that she could get me a room that was ready as I had requested early checkin. Suzy said she would get a room supervisor and see.
This man comes over and asks me what he can do to help. I told him we wanted to see if we could get into our room to change and if our room wasnt avail could he try to get me one that was. He assured me that the hotel was fully booked and that NOONE was getting their rooms prior to 4pm as housekeeping was "backed up". I pushed the issue slightly and he stood his ground so instead of wasting more time I just said ok and lets get this checkin process wrapped up. Just as I was about done the room super came over and said that he did check and NOONE checking in today was getting a room prior to 3pm, not even early check in rqsts. Finally after 50 mins we were checked in:woohoo: !!!It was now just about 2pm and I walked over to the cartoon area to get the gang. My mom was already done with her checkin(what a surprise). I gave P the news that our room wouldnt be ready till at least 4pm and he said "then its a good thing your parents room is ready now, we can change there". WHAT!!!!Can you believe their room was ready??!!!What happened to NOONE gets a room before 4pm today. At this point I was so done that I didnt even go say anything, I just wanted to change and get into the MK.
By the way, after 50 mins and countless times being asked if we were DVC members we NEVER got a welcome home. 2 separate CM and no welcome home. I was soooo disappointed. I had waited a long time to hear those words and nothing.
The room was nice, smaller than what I remembered but my parents had a handicapped room for some reason and I remember that those rooms are usually smaller as they need the extra space for wheelchairs.

After a quick change we headed out the back door to the dock for our boat ride to the MK.We saw this on the way to the dock. P thought it looked like Goofy. It took me several times to see what he meant but I see it now.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_4384.jpg

In about 7-10mins we arrived. I think it took the captain longer to dock that boat than it did to actually get there.

Alright let me tell you that we like to always start and end our Disney trips the same way ALL THE TIME. No ifs ands or butts about it.We have lots of silly traditions. We always have our 1st meal at Pecos Bills and our 1st ride is always Pirates. So when P was giving me the hurry signal because they were hungry my mom offered to go get the boys something to eat. Absolutely NOT!!!Being the good parents we are we gave the kids more goldfish and reminded Mom that the first Disney food we eat is always at Pecos, and we didnt want to break tradition:rotfl:

When we entered the MK we noticed that is was decorated so nice.Lot of decoration everywhere, so much more than last year. They really did a great job this year.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3852.jpghttp://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3854.jpg
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3856.jpg

So off we went over the Adventureland Bridge and right to Pecos Bills.
We have LOTS of food allergies and Happy has some real serious ones. I told P to double check the dessert to see if he could get something safe for us. Ok-Happy is allergic to peanuts/treenuts(walnuts,pecans,etc--basically any other nut than a peanut) by contact. I am allergic to them but not by contact. P and Bashful are not allergic but due to the fact that Happy is so highly allergic they cant have anything that Happy cant. Not even grammie, poppy or Uncle C. Make sense??
So P comes back with our food and we all woof it down as we are starving. Happy ate a cheeseburger for the 1st time. Well, a cheeseburger that I didnt make. I dont eat meat(only chicken) and for some reason I dont give it to the boys that much. Any fast food we eat is always chicken nuggets. I know boreing:rotfl2: .
Anyway the boys are done eating and want dessert. P says that the desserts were peanut butter mouse, brownies,or chocolate pudding, all of which are not safe. He said he asked for the Apples as a substitute but they said no.Can you believe that. I was upset but P didnt think it was a big deal because it was just lunch and the boys prob didnt want dessert anyway.
I guess he was right but I annoyed me.

Finally we were off to our 1st ride Pirates. The boys love to sing the song through the whole ride. Its very cute. I do make sure that they dont sing loud though.
After Pirates we went over to the Haunted Mansion. When we were there in July it was closed for renovations so we were eager to see what they had done. The sign said 40 min wait but it was only about 15mins till we met up with Master Gracey. Happy LOVES Master Gracey. Most kids would be scared by him but not Happy. Ducks, now they scare him but thats for another time.
He asked every CM he could were he can meet Master Gracy. I didnt know this but when you are in the stretching room and the lights go out the skeleton hanging from the ceiling is Master Gracey. That is the only time you see him according to the CM.
They made some nice changes and we love that they added the "grinning ghosts" song.
After that P,Happy,Uncle C and Poppy went on Splash Mountain. I felt it was too soon after eating so I passed. Grammy,Bashful and I went shopping and met up with them after the ride.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3864.jpg
sorry its blurry, p and Uncle C then poppy and Happy
Happy was not happy when they got off SM and realized that BTMRR was closed for renovations. That is one of his favorite rides and he was so upset. The whole time we were in MK we never once saw them do anything to that ride. They said they were painting everything. Whatever, my kid was not a happy camper.
Think we grabbed some drinks as it was sooooooo HOT and then went over to Tomorrow land to ride Buzz
By this time I think we had another bite to eat and then got some ice-cream. We watched the parade and then saw our 1st Wishes of the trip.

Let me back up here and say that around 430pm we called and found out our room was ready and got our room number. We were actually on the same floor as my parents:woohoo:
It was late and it was a looooong day so we headed back to the hotel to get some sleep.Of course I forgot to take pics. Our room was bigger than my parents(not big just bigger) and clean. Just not clean enough for me. I have OCD about the cleanliness of things especially in my "house" so I had some cleaning to do.The boys were already asleep when we got back so it made cleaning the room much easier without them running all over.
I wiped all things down with my Clorox wipes several times and gave a good spraying with Lysol to the bathroom after Clorox wiping that as well. Wallah all done and ready for bed. Oh I also took the bedspreads of the bed, folded them nicely and put them in the closet. I have a thing about them too after seeing a dateline report of what they have found on them:eek:

I feel for you having to deal with the S L O W check-in girl, I would have been beyond irritated.:headache:

I love that you have traditions on what you do first when at Disney.

I can't believe that they wouldn't give you apples for the dessert, especially because it was due to an allergy reason. You would think that Disney would want to be accomadating towards issues like that.

It sounds like the rest of your first day went well. I just love the fall decorations on Main Street, it is so pretty!

Okay, soapbox time. This drives me INSANE. As a former corporate trainer, it pains me to no end when I see a new employee left on their own to figure things out while the customer suffers. Day 2 Sunday Oct 7th
Upon changing the boys for bed they both woke up. Yeah---let me get them in the shower now so we don’t have to waste time doing it in the a.m.. So they both got a quick shower and off to sleep for them again. Actually I felt kind of like a mean mommy because as P and I were dressing them for bed Bashful was nodding off and Happy kept saying he wanted to go back to sleep. But I was glad I did it as I know how they can be in the morning.

We(me and P) woke around 630am, got all showered and ready then tried to wake the boys. One would think they would be so excited to be in Disney they would jump right out of bed. No. Each time we would try Happy would just turn his head and Bashful would pull the covers over his head and say “NO” and fall back to sleep. This went on for approx 15 mins. Hey kiddos we are on a schedule, remember?. If I had to give them showers this morning we would have missed our ADR ‘s for breakfast. I guess sometimes mommy does know best.
I pulled back the curtains to let some light in hoping that would help us and fianlly got a look at our view.

THey should be ashamed of themselves for having guests look at such a horrific mess.
Ick. Well at least it didn’t smell.Does anyone ever get a decent view when using points or AP rates??
Anyway, we had to just dress Bashful and throw him in the stroller(not literally of course):rotfl2: . Happy finally gave in and got dressed and then we were out the door at 730am for Breakfast. We had a 810am at CP. After waiting for the boat we got to the MK about 755am. We made our way down Main street with a few stops for some pic then off to CP.

Due to all our food allergies we are limited as to where we can eat so we eat at a lot of the same places quite often. We LOVE CP for breakfast. I may or may not have something to due with the puffed French Toast. The chefs there are great and we have gotten to know all of them over the past year. They walk the buffet with me advising what we need to stay away from and then take our orders for anything they need to make special for us in the back. They do this for anyone with allergies. They are prompt and on the ball with everything.
Its funny but last Oct when we had eaten here for the 1st time with the kids and they had that parade around the room with the characters, well we dropped everything and followed the kids around watching and taking pics. 4 trips later and prob 15 or so meals gone by and we don’t even get out of seats. We just sit and watch the kids from out seats as we enjoy breakfast:rotfl:
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3869.jpghttp://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3867.jpg
Alrighty breakfast done and off to FP Spalsh and begin our plan.Or so I think.

OK this is where it gets scary:scared1: . Happy remembers that we said he and Bashful could plan some days and well he wants to start planning NOW.. I tried to tell him how crowded the park was and how hot it was and that today was not a good day for his plan and that we need to follow our friend Mike’s plan. Well all of a sudden my nice little 5yr turned like 15 and started debating me. P actually said to me “I don’t think you are going to win this so lets just get on with what the kids want to do”. You see, secretly I think that’s what he wanted to do all along. We have definitely converted P to the Disney side but he is not much into the planning everything out. He likes saying to the kids “whats next” and then we just do that. . We are big pushovers I guess, but after all I guess these trips are about the kids.

So seeing as I am fighting a losing battle I abandon the plan:eek: and away we go aimlessly into the park. I surly didn’t think this was going to happen until at least day 4 or so but I guess I was very wrong. And wrong I was. I am a big girl, I can admit it(sometimes).
We went over to the HM and guess what---no line we walked on. Then over to IASW, again no line.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3874.jpg
PP had a 45 min wait so we fast passed that and hopped over to Philharmagic. We waited about 5 or 7 mins and we were let in for the show. We LOVE this show:love: . This was the 1st time Bashful actually wore the glasses and WOW did he really LOVE it this time. He was reaching for everything and when the Aladin part was on and they were flying he held onto me sooo tight. P and I get a kick out of watching Happy sing all the songs. He knows each and every word. By the end of the trip Bashful was singing to the songs too. We had our very on choir.
Pooh had a 40 min wait so we skipped that for know and were told by Happy we had to do Splash. We had our FP’s from earlier so no wait for us.
By then it was about 1200 and VERY HOT so I suggested going back to the pool for a swim and grabbing a quick bite to eat there.. Apparently the boys liked my plan and we headed back.

UP NEXT: Will we make it back to the pool?

Actually I felt kind of like a mean mommy because as P and I were dressing them for bed Bashful was nodding off and Happy kept saying he wanted to go back to sleep. But I was glad I did it as I know how they can be in the morning.

First of all that is just dreadful they even allow that view without out some discounting involved.

Second, I LOVE CP breakfast, that french toast is to die for. It is my all time favorite breakfast, I was so tempted this last trip to go over there my last day just for breakfast and race off to the airport.

WOW it has been a hectic few days. Halloween was great as it was Bashfuls 1st time for real trick or treating. It was so cute to see him follow all the kids up to each house and say "trick or treat". He had a hard time deciding what candy to take at each house though. And when I told him we dont eat any of it he was not happy(I give it to P to take to work, we cant eat it)
Anyway, here is another chapter, hope you enjoy!!

So we headed down Main Street and over to the boat dock to head back to WL for a swim. We could see that the boat was not in so we walked leisurely over and took a seat to wait.
We waited the full 20 mins for the boat. In the HOT sun. We were melting slowly.
Finally the boat came and we got on. I love the boat for the simple reason that you don’t have to fold the stolllers. Very convenient.:thumbsup2 But thats about it.
I had forgotten what time it was so when we sailed off and the captain said 1st stop at FW Campground I could have kicked myself. Before 3pm the boat runs MK/FW/WL after 3pm it is Nonstop MK/WL then FW. It was so HOT out and even HOTTER on this boat. Everyone was opening up the windows for a little breeze but that wasn’t helping. It was almost unbearable. I sweat we almost melted on this the way back.
Our 7-10 minute little ride turned into 40 mins!!
Note to self -- look at time before picking transportation back to WL. Of course P felt the need to comment that we should have taken the bus. I gave him the “stick it” look and then advised everyone that P was in charge of transporation.
We went to our rooms and changed into out swimsuits in record time.
We strolled down to the pool and for the 1st time noticed a lot on construction and rehabbing going on. They were powerwashing the main hotel and had a lot of the paths to the pool closed so you had to walk all over the property to get there. They were also painting the Villas so paths in that area were closed off too.
As we were walking P asked if we wanted to goto the “quiet”pool or the main pool.
I said 'whatever one we come across 1st. "
Well we came across the “quiet” pool first however it was CLOSED for construction.UGGGG!!
Ok main pool it is. After walking some more we finally got to the pool. I tell you it seemed like 2hrs walking around with detour after detour.Time elapsed 20 mins:rotfl2:
I have to say I was a bit frustrated by all the construction going on.
Being the good Dis-er I am I checked several times on the Dis as well as Disney website to see if there was any of this going on at the Lodge and nothing was listed. Not that it would have made a difference but I just would have like to have been prepared..
Oh yeah the pool bar was also getting a rehab(painted and new roof), so they only had one side open for drinks. And of course there was a line.:headache:

I cant remember the last time I was so hot that I just jumped in the pool!!Well I did. I parked the stroller and jumped right in. Boy did that feel good. I was once again a happy camper.
Happy had a blast as did Bashful. Happy would just go down the slide and get right out and go again. He has become a good little swimmer.
Bashful saw all the fun we were having going down the slide and wanted to partake.
I wasn’t so sure if this was a good idea. You have to go down on your own, no lap rides. And even with a life jacket, I was a bit worried. He however is fearless and a daredevil and whined till I gave in.
Even though I knew the answer I did ask the lifeguard if P or I could take Bashful down the slide with us because I was a nervous Nellie to let him go himself. She was sooooo nice. She said we could do it 1 time but when we came out she needed to blow her whistle and tell us we couldn’t do it again. NO Problem.
P took Bashful down the slide and he yelled with excitement and fear(Bashful not P:lmao: :lmao: ). When they came out they were going so fast they both went under!!!!I nearly fainted:faint: . Good thing Poppie was there go catch Bashful just as he went under.
Bashful thought it was great and wanted more but that was enough for us.
P said for some reason with Bashful on his lap he went faster and couldn’t slow up with his hands or feet as he was holding him..
Here are a few pics at the pool
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3876.jpgThat is not me waiting at the bottom for Happy. When he came down he didnt want anyone waiting for him to "catch"him.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3879.jpg
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3882.jpg
That is Happy swimming underwater behind them.
I have to give credit where it is due and tell you that the lifeguards at the pool were soooo good. They made sure noone ran and everyone followed the rules but also made sure everyone had a blast. They played with the kids in the water and had basketball games, duck races and what not. They really kept on top of things. Remember this for another chapter to come.

After grabbing some lunch at the snack bar and swimming for a while longer we took our long walk back to our room changed and head back to the MK for some more fun.
We headed into Tomorrowland and saw Buzz.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3891.jpg
We took a quick picture then decided to ride Buzz as the line was really short. We then hit the WED way people mover(it will always be that to me, sorry)
Then P and Uncle C decided to get fastpasses for SM to “test it out” for Happy. I was very worried about him riding this as he is in his own “ship” by himself, noone next to him. They happily volunteered to test it for me.
We headed over to HM and then over to Pirates before getting dinner.
Tonight was my favorite dinner. Turkey legs and McDonalds fries. I know sad huh!!!
I can seriously eat that every night. The kids love it too and I feel like they aren’t just eating mac and cheese and pizza every night.
We got ice cream from the Plaza Ice cream shop and watched Wishes.
We had a great night and it wasn’t even chaotic leaving after Wishes.
P being the new transportation guide advised us we should try the bus back. I told him the boat was now nonstop to WL but he wanted to try the bus.
GOOD THING.!!!The line for the boat was huge. We walked over to the busstop and it was empty. We were the only ones there. The bus came in a min or two and then the part I hate.....folding the strollers. I asked the driver if we needed to fold the stollers and he said since we were the only ones on the bus and the kids were sleeping we didn’t have to fold them. (this changed with every driver BTW). In 3 mins we were back at WL. I kid you not 3 mins!!!The bus is the way to go.

UP NEXT: Breakfast where??

OMG I can't believe the view from yuor room! That is TERRIBLE!!! I would SOO be complaining! Especially after the fiasco checking in! The last time we stayed at the Movies (December 2006) it took us 45 minutes to check in. And the time before that was just as bad. The CM checking us in was our own Suzy Slowpoke...again BRAND NEW with NO supervision! We were 4 adults and I asked for a roll-away bed for my brother and this twit kept asking if I meant I wanted a crib. I was like LADY DO I LOOK LIKE I NEED A CRIB? Then we asked for a mini fridge and she kept trying to tell me that we couldn't have one unless it was medicine storage. Thankfully another CM walked by and overheard and came pver to help me out but by then we had already been there 40 minutes.

Day 3 Monday
We are all up on time, together and out the door in an orderly fashion.
Where is it you ask we are having breakfast???Crystal Palace!!!Our ADR is for 815am so after a few pics we are having some grub with Pooh and his friends, AGAIN. They are very accommodating to our allergies, not to mention those grits and puffed French toast.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3894.jpghttp://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3909.jpg

After eating we head for some fastpasses to Splash and then head over to Buzz. The boysLOVE this ride and it was walk on. We were able to ride 2 or 3 more times with no wait.
We are a group of 7 so on our 2nd time around we are figuring who will ride with who this time and next thing we know Happy just gets in a car by HIMSELF:eek: and off he goes. P and I got in the next one to keep an eye on him. For some reason I thought they might stop the ride because a 5 yr was riding alone, but the didn’t. Happy did great and had a blast by himself. He even posed for the pic by standing on the seat making a silly face. Well this was his 1st taste of freedom and boy did he like it. From now on he said he only wanted to ride ALONE. So quick to dump us all. Guess who got a perfect score……P of course and he was happy to remind me about it often!
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_0024.jpg
Before heading back for our Splash FP Happy asked if he could ride SM. He was quick to point out that Daddy and Uncle C tested it out.
Let me back up here. The day before they did test it out and said that it was prob ok for him to ride but he is in a car of his own and it is DARK.So what do I think. Well last oct we went on Stitch Great escape he freaked as it was dark and he thought stitch was attacking him. He somehow managed to squeeze himelf out of the over the shoulder harness and made a run for the exit.. So needless to say I was a little concered that the dark would freak him out not knowing what was coming next and he would try to get out of the car. You see he isn’t afraid of the dark or much of anything for that matter but it is the not knowing part that gets him.(at least it did last year)
P said it wasn’t scary and since he loves roller coaster type rides it shouldn’t be a problem. He said he could touch Happys shoulders and we would tell him he cant get up as it was dangerous.
I opted for maybe another day when I worked up enough courage. Happy however wasn’t taking NO for an answer:mad: . He swore up and down he would be ok and would not get up. He said he would not go on if he thought he was going to be scared.. Yes for 5 he is quite the conniver. I reluctantly said “ok” and off they went.
P, Happy, Uncle C, and Poppie that is. I choose to stay with grammie and Bashful and wear a hole in the pavement doing the “worry walk”
I don’t know what happened but all of a sudden I started getting tears in my eyes and crying. Grammie calmed my nerves and before you know it Happy was running over to me jumping up and down and said that it was the best ride ever!!! He LOVED it to say the least. Happy said “see mom, nothing to it, and I even held on with 2 hands just for you”. You gotta love it.
Well, my little guy is growing up too fast for my liking. It breaks my heart.
This would mark the 1st of many firsts this trip.
So we grabbed some SM FP’s for later and headed over to Splash to use our FP from earlier.
We did HM again and that’s when it started to go down the drain. We (everyone but me and P) couldn’t get their acts together. Ok Grammie had to use the bathroom so we took a bathroom break. We all stood around while she went and 2 mins after we left the bathroom, Happy had to go. What is it with the smell of the bathrooms is Disney??They all smell so horrible don’t they? OK we stop again and again we all stood around doing NOTHING. Ok can we make it to HOP?? NO… now poppie needed water. Water!!!??? You mean while we were waiting around he couldn’t have thought of that??!!!
I was hot and beginning to lose my patience, and I may or may not have said “what is wrong with everyone, cant you get your acts together”.:rolleyes1
Ok so we finally made it to HOP and then we headed back to the pool for a much needed swim. We hit Pirates on the way out(no line) and saw Hook and Smee with NO LINE. Happy called Hook a Codfish and he laughed and made the sign for off with your head. They were very playful characters.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3947.jpg
After our swim we headed to WCC for our ADR for dinner.
We loved it there. The food was surprisingly good and they went out of their way to accommodate our allergies. We all got the all you can eat skillet and they replaced the shrimp with something else. I cant remember what. They also didn’t have anything on the desert menu for us but the chef was kind enough to goto the snack shop and get us Mickey bars and nut free cookies and brownies. They couldn’t have been nicer and a good time was had by all. The kids got a kick out of all the antics going in the the restaurant. Happy joined in the “pony race” and got a certif. and pin commemorating the event. Very cute.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3948.jpg
Sorry its blurry he was moving really fast
After dinner we headed to MGM as we wanted to see some shows and have a relaxing night.
We checked with the front desk to make sure Indiana Jones and Light Motor Action was still running at night. They said yes and off we went.
It was EMH at MGM so we got our wristbands as soon as we entered.
P grabbed a map and sched( YES ,we still need a map at MGM!!)
ON NO Indiana Jones was still running but not LMA.Thanks front desk!!:headache:
Happy was disappointed as he really lights this show.
We went on Star Tours 2 times as there was no line and Happy LOVES him some Star Wars.
Grammie met us in the gift shop and I took Bashful to pick out something. While we were shopping a little girl(maybe 2yrs old) wondered over to us and said hi to Bashful. He said Hello back and I thought she left. When I turned around she was climbing on his lap in the stoller. I asked her to get down and she did. WTH is this kid doing!! 2 mins later she did it AGAIN!!! She is sitting on his lap!!!!Well Bashful is not liking this and is pushing her off (with some force, he is a tough cookie) He is saying to her to go away and get off LOUDLY. As I go to pick her up off him this lady comes over and asks why Bashful is hitting her daughter!!??Hitting her daughter!!??
WTH Lady, are you kidding me!!And that is EXACTLY what I said to her.
Other than the obvious reason of Bashful getting hurt, who wants some strange kid putting there germy hands all over your kid.
She mumbled something and walked away……..with me right behind her giving her a piece of my mind. Prob not the best thing to do but I was ticked off.
We did the muppets and Indiana Jones. Backstage tour and GMR had huge lines and since they are take or leave rides for us we decided to head back to WL as it was late.
UP NEXT: Another 1st for Happy.

It's terrific that Happy liked Space Mtn. One of my 5 year olds did, but the other didn't. Which he will still tell you, quite definitely. ;)

Congrats to P on the perfect Buzz score! :cool1:

I could understand if it was one of the kids who wanted water AFTER standing around forever, but Poppie??? :rotfl2:

As a mom, I would not have been pleased to see my kid in your kid's stroller, what was this person thinking?

We are a group of 7 so on our 2nd time around we are figuring who will ride with who this time and next thing we know Happy just gets in a car by HIMSELF:eek: and off he goes.
WHOA!! Way to go Happy! :rotfl:
From now on he said he only wanted to ride ALONE.
Uh-oh... popcorn::
Before heading back for our Splash FP Happy asked if he could ride SM.
yeah, I was afraid this was coming up...
Yes for 5 he is quite the conniver.
Aren't they all?!
Oh T!   I understand my friend, I understand.
What is it with the smell of the bathrooms is Disney??They all smell so horrible don’t they?
:rotfl2: I just had this conversation with my mother on Sat. I swear, I remember a time when they were kept clean as a whistle and smelling fresh all day long. What happened since then?! :scared:

She mumbled something and walked away……..with me right behind her giving her a piece of my mind. Prob not the best thing to do but I was ticked off.
Know what, though? Ten-to-one says she'd jump at a chance to sue you if you hadn't done or said anything and her kid fell off YOUR stroller. People are so bizarre. :sad2:

Ok at first I thought this was really cute cuz I thought it was just innocent kid flirting however #1) what was her mother doing that was so much more important than watching her child? #2) what kind of parent doesn't notice that their kid is missing long enough to get in someone else's stroller TWICE?
No, following her and telling her off probably wasn't the best thing to do but I would have done the same thing! Don't yell at me because you feel like and idiot that someone could have walked off with your kid. What would have happened if you never even noticed her get in and just kept going? This makes me so mad because they could have been arresting you for abduction or something when it was this lady's fault for not watching her own kid!

Ok so photobucket is driving me crazy trying to upload pics. I am waiting for another day to try photobucket. Sooooooooo
I was just reading on another TR that this family encountered some trouble getting into EP and it reminded me of our trouble in July at the MK.
I thought I would share this as we were really taken aback that this happened in Disney and it happened to US. Hold on to your hats.

Ok so it was a Saturday night this past July that we were going the MK. P being the work-a-holic he is was on a conference call(I know on a Sat:confused3 ). I packed my bag with what we needed and put our rain ponchos in a bag and threw them under Happys stroller and off we went. We got off the monorail and headed into the park,. I go 1st and open my bag for the security guard and he lets me through. P was behind me with Happy and walked through as he didn’t have a bag to check.(at least he didn’t think he did) We are at the gate to put in our passes and I hear yelling in a not so nice tone to "Stop”, “ come back here” “Where are you going” ,”hey Im talking to you", "you didn’t check your bag” . I turned around to see what all this commotion was and this security guard is pointing towards us.I pointed to myself and he motioned at the bag in the stroller. I gave him the bag(I heard him yelling about it), he checked it, it was OK(P and the kids were still in line at the gates) and that should have been it-NOT the case instead this guy started going on LOUDLY about how P should pay attention when someone is speaking him. He also commented why he didn’t hang up the phone and why “your wife is doing your dirty work”
Well P heard all of this and was not happy. He asked the call to hold on and he approached the guard and told him not to speak to “his wife” in that tone. That if he had a problem or we did something wrong that there is a proper way to speak to someone especially in front of lots of children. He asked the guard what we did wrong..He said this nicely and very calm as Happy was in the stroller right there. He said who do we think we are to question authority. HUH???!!!We asked a question. I mean the park was packed and we had no idea he was talking to us, he was just yelling to stop and check the bag He could have said people with the 2 strollers, man with the red hat.(which P was wearing) something so we knew he was talking to us. Im sure most of you with kids know that you get involved with them and sometimes block others out especially when your not expecting someone to be YELLING at you. He was sooo nasty and downright rude.
P had no idea that the bag was under the stroller as he was on the phone when I got everything ready back at the hotel. When I realized he was talking to us I ran the bag to him AGAIN that should have been that.
NOPE. This guy had a bug up his butt and started YELLING that we were not above getting checked and”who do we think we are, rules are for EVERYONE to follow”.Well P was now not happy at all. He started telling the guard that he had no right to speak to us that way, we did nothing wrong , we had the bag checked and to “just drop it” as he wasn’t going to argue in front of his kids. Then we started to walk away to enter the park and P went back to his call. This crazy man followed us and said we could not enter. WHAT??!! WHY NOT.P ended his call and asked why we couldn’t go in he said we were “causing a disturbance” and he wasn’t letting us in:eek: . During this time a sheriff officer(I think that’s what he was) came over to see what the problem He was standing next to us like we might bolt or something(in fareness to him he didn’t have a clue as to what was going on so he may have thought we commited some crime)I took the kids a bit to the side to they weren’t seeing/hearing what was going on. Happy knew something wasn’t right and ran over to P holding onto him very tightly. P demanded that the head of security come over to let us in, and this guard get new training or fired.
Very quicky an older lady who was like 4 feet tall comes over(I expected some big burly man with authority to come over, apparently not:rotfl2: :rotfl2: ) and asked what the problem is. P explains about accidentally going through without checking a bag and when we realized ,we had the bag checked and this guy is yelling and carrying on for no reason and wont let us into the park. Happy is hearing all of this, mind you.
This guard starts telling the head of security that it was not that cut and dry and we were yelling AT HIM !!Again the whole ‘we are not above the law” and need to follow directions(maybe he thought we were a celebrity or something:confused3 ). P did raise his voice as we did nothing wrong and he told the guard not to speak to us like we were garbage and to watch his language in front of our kids.P asked her where the magic went and what happened to “be our guest” and is this the way they treat guests because if it is then we would rethink vacationing here again.
The head of security said they would speak to the guard about his actions and we could go into the park. No aology nothing. We were so relieved to just be “allowed” in that we didn’t pursue it any longer(p would be writing a letter of course)
I have to say that I have never been spoken to in such a manner before. I was shaking and really taken aback by the whole situation. This is Disney for gosh sakes. The happiest place on earth.
I also have to say how proud I was of my husband for the way he conducted himself in front of our kids and in this situation. I KNOW he wanted to REALLY give it to this guy and I wanted him to blast him,( I did think at one point he was going to lose it) he certainly deserved it. But he was the better person and tried to stay calm the best he could.(he deals with heated situations at work all the time)
Well we did go into the MK and tried to make the best of it for the kids but it just wasn’t the same.

Up Next: Does Disney have any magic left??

I know I am slacking with this TR but I have been busy planning our next rip to DISNEY!!!!!

I just booked Apr 27-May3rd at the POLY!!!!The boys are super excited as they got to pick where we should stay this time. They are intrigued by the Volcano Pool. We are happy to as we stayed there in July and loved it. The rooms were soooo nice.

Also I think we might be giving the gift of Disney this year. We usually buy someone that works for us a plane ticket home to Europe for vacation but this year she wants to travel here in the US. The boys are always telling her she should go and she said maybe she wants to give it a try. I gave her lots of info and she is going to see if she can get someone to go with her. She will let me know soon.

Ok I will get a new installment up soon-ish

Apparently, it is not his job to specify which "Hey, you" he was talking to. Nope, that's definitely NOT in the job description! :sad2:

”who do we think we are, rules are for EVERYONE to follow”.Well P was now not happy at all.

Where was this guy when we saw the following:
-children wearing and using heelys (flame me if you wish, but the rules clearly state nothing with wheels and besides, they wouldn't allow rollerskates or rollerblades in)
-people taking flash pictures on rides that specifically state "no flash photography"
-people cutting in line
Apparently there are SOME people who ARE above the rules....Sorry T, you're just not one of them ;)
And P handled it much better than I would have! I would have decked the guy, for sure!

Tues Day 4

SO let me start off by telling you that Bashful LOVES Woody, he has wanted to be Woody for Halloween since the summer. We did MNSSHP last year and I purchased the kids costumes in MGM with no problem. For some reason this year Happy decided that if Bashful was going to be Woody then he had to be Buzz. Something he was not too happy about. I tried explaining to him that just because his brother was Woody he didn’t have to b e Buzz. But, he insisted that they must be something that “goes together”. So being the good big brother he is he took one for team so his brother could be Woody. He complained a few times that he didn’t really want to be Buzz, that he was just doing it for his brother.
So this year I was planning on doing the same thing(buying costumes there). When we were in tommorrowland one of the previous days we got Happy his Buzz costume. Up until this point we had not seen a Woody costume anywhere. I inquired with guest services as to where I can find a Woody costume and they did some research and gave me the dreaded news. NO WOODY COSTUMES IN THE ENTIRE WDW COMPLEX:mad: . They said Woody was not that popular! I ‘m not sure why they have a Woody’s Roundup Parade then! I was beside myself. How could there be no Woody costume??!!.
So this morning before our breakfast I stopped at the concierge desk to see if they could order me a costume from Disney shopping online. I told them I needed to have it overnighted to me as we had tickets to Thursdays MNSSHP. I gave them all the info they needed and they were going to call my cell phone if they had any problems.
Hopped on the bus to MK and before we could even get seated we were there.
Breakfast again was at….you guessed it CP!!!I’ll never turn down that puffed French toast I tell ya. Oh and not sure if I mentioned this before but the cheese grits are pretty amazing too.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s85/boysmom5150/IMG_3955.jpg
After breakfast we digested while watching Monsters Inc. We love that show, so corny. Every time we go to this show Happy wants to be picked. Well guess who was picked this time………MOMMY!!!!I was so embarrassed but it was so much fun. Happy stuck his head next to mine so he was on screen too and they made the comment about me sprouting a new head. He got a big kick out of that but wanted to have more camera time. He is such a shy kid!!!!:lmao:
We this saw this lovely lady what are these people thinking
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2377/2088430807_583ea35e5c.jpg
Again we did BUZZ and then Happy and the other men troops did SM. Grammie Bashful and I hung out in the SM arcade playing some game. When they got off happy wanted to try his hand at some too. He was playing the bowling game in the back and I turned to see how Bashful was doing at his ski ball. When turned around Happy was GONE!:scared1: !I called over to P to see if he was with him and NO!!! Poppie and grammie were on a bathroom run and Uncle c was playing his own games. We called him and no answer we were FRANTIC!!!!All of us were calling and looking for him for . I went outside to see if maybe he went out because he couldn’t find us and I didn’t see him in the immediate area. Just as I went in and was going to alert a CM I saw him standing by the exit hall to SM. I didn’t know if I wanted to hug him or scream at him. OK hug 1st scream 2nd. I can’t believe he had done this. This is something he has NEVER done. If it was Bashful I could understand but not Happy. He said he wanted to see everyone’s faces after they got off the ride. After a long talk he understood why he could never do this again.
Well after this scare I decided that I need to just sit and chill for a bit so we hit COP. Oh how I love this. But not this time around. There were 2 teens about 14-15 yr old sitting behind us. They were so loud and obnoxious. Making silly stupid comments about people and such. I guess being just teenagers except they were really loud. When the CM made the announcement before leaving so the show could begin they yelled out “rock on”
Ok –so the show begins. Well the comments don’t stop, as a matter of fact they just get worse. Commenting on how lame this show is, and how people could never have really lived like this. I turned around and gave them the evil eye and noticed something I hadn’t before…….they had parents with them!!!Thats right they were supervised and behaving like this!!!I was appalled. When act one changed into act two they were talking so loud that we (happy and me) could hardly concentrate on singing the song, you know the one we ALL love” It’s a great big beautiful tomorrow , shining at the end of everyday…”
It’s an addicting song for us. Happy knows each and every word and Bashful knows the chorus too.
Anyway act two over and they are still at it. People were yelling at them to shut up and everything. The parents did NOTHING. I really couldn’t believe it. Even Happy turned around and told them to “BEHAVE” .
When COP was over P noticed he had a vmail. It was the front desk advising us that Disney shopping could only do 2 day shipping and it would not get to us in time for MNSSHP. I felt sick to my stomach. Bashful had his heart set on being Woody. If I even mentioned being another character he said “NO, me Woody’. So I called the concierge and asked them to call the Disney Store to see if they could overnight me a costume. Someone was going to get back to me.
We went on a few more rides, pretty uneventful and then headed back for our afternoon swim.
On the way out we saw these guys----with NO LINE!!

Happy participated in the Duck races and played basketball. They really have a lot of planned activities for the kids at the pool and everyone was super nice.

Our plans for this evening were to go to Epcot.
Before heading over I went to the concierge desk and they told me the Disney store won’t take a credit card over the phone so they can’t send the package. I told P and he asked them to get a messenger service for us to get the costume. She made a call and told me that it was aprrox $120 for them to do this. P said to go ahead and “just do it so he can have his costume”
They said we would have the costume tomorrow. Finally.
Off toEpcot we go and straight to TT. Who doesn’t like TT. We sure do. Because we have to use the baby swap(Bashful is too small yet) Happy would get to ride 2 times. He was so excited. !st time around we all ride except for grammie and Bashful. Then P, Happy and I rode the second time. Grammie chickened out.
P ran to get FP for Soarin and we got some drinks at the Cooling station. Love the frozen Cokes.
We did Ellen’s Energy Adventure Next. Like everyone else does Bashful and I fell asleep and we woke to Happy telling P he was tired of sitting for so long.:confused3
We headed to Nemo. Not to jinx anything for the future but this ride has no line EVER. We walked right on. Cute but not great. The kids like it.

By this time out Soarin FP were ready. Again we can baby swap. Grammie and I were going to sit it out, she is terrified of heights and I’m not a fan of them either. Happy looked at me and said” mommy please come with us, I like when you ride with us”
Let me back up here for just a minute. I think it was last May when we did this for the 1st time. P and Happy went 1st while I stayed with Bashful. Then it was my turn with Happy. I asked P if he thought I could do it as he knows I don’t love heights and he said just close your eyes during take off and landing and you will be fine. Well ok that didn’t sound so bad. Let me just tell you I don’t know how I made it through this ride. I got Happy strapped in and then me. There was a boy next to me who was maybe 12 or 13. I joked that if he felt anything strange it was just me holding on. He was so cute and said no problem to hold onto him. Not too many of those people around. So off we go and I close my eyes. Wait a second, if my eyes are closed how can I watch Happy. So I open them and freak out. I grab this kids arm and Happys arm and am frozen. Happy is swinging the glider and having a blast and I am in a cold sweat. I said I would never to this ride again unless P was with me.
Ok so now how do I tell my 5yr old that I am a scardey cat.
So what a mom to do…..Off I go Soarin. It wasn’t as bad this time with P as I could hold onto him and close my eyes if I needed. I have to say that I did enjoy it more the second time around.
We swapped and P,Happy and Uncle C went gliding this time.
We grabbed a quick bite to eat and Happy wanted to try Mission Space. The “big” side. We compromised and let him do the non-spinning side. Again. another 1st and he LOVED this too. There was no line so they rode 3 times in a row. He loved being Commander.
We grabbed a snack and a spot for IROE and the boys fell asleep. We got a head start leaving the park just at the end of the show and took a taxi back to WL. While walking through the lobby a CM came over to me and said the manager needed to speak with me.
He came out and told me that they worked a bit of Disney magic and he had an employee got the mall and get the Woody costume for Bashful and that there was no charge other than the cost of the costume. WOW!!How nice was that. Just when I thought that Disney might be losing a bit of the magic they pull through with this:cloud9: . I almost cried. How nice was that.. I asked who I need to reimburse and they said they charged it to my room. The manager was so nice and we thanked them so much. WOOOHOOOO we have a Woody costume. The next day I sent something down for the CM who went to get it for us. She said it was her pleasure to do so. Now thats service at its best.

I don't know if it's just me, but I swear I see this a lot more than I used to. And not just at WDW. Last weekend at our city's holiday parade, we stood behind a family with 6 kids ranging from about 4-12 and the parents encouraged the kids to shout not-so-nice things every time a cop car or motocycle came by in the parade. :headache:

its funny you say that. They sure do know us and remember us from trip to trip too. There are 2 servers and 1 chef that we have had consistantly since last Oct(06). I chef cut his hand really badly in May and we checked in on him in July and he was all better when we saw him again in Oct:rotfl2:

Hey T! Sorry it has taken me so long to catch up! I'm finally bouncing back from Christmas!

I tried explaining to him that just because his brother was Woody he didn’t have to b e Buzz. But, he insisted that they must be something that “goes together”. So being the good big brother he is he took one for team so his brother could be Woody.

SOO cute! You have such good kids, I swear! I HATED it when my sister wanted to do costumes that "go together." Like one year, I was the green fairy (Fauna, naturally:thumbsup2 ) for Halloween and she wanted to be Merriweather, the blue one. Well I threw such a hissy-fit that my mom had to convince her to be Minnie Mouse instead. I was such a mean child :rotfl2:

NO WOODY COSTUMES IN THE ENTIRE WDW COMPLEX:mad: . They said Woody was not that popular! I ‘m not sure why they have a Woody’s Roundup Parade then! I was beside myself. How could there be no Woody costume??!!

Yeah I hate it when they do this! My niece wanted to have a Belle birthday party so I spent the first half of my October trip looking for Belle party supplies or SOMETHING and they had NOTHING! Apparently, you can either get ALL the princesses together, or nothing at all. I guess they don't want it to be a popularity contest :confused3

Breakfast again was at….you guessed it CP!!! I’ll never turn down that puffed French toast I tell ya.
::yes:: We love it too!

Every time we go to this show Happy wants to be picked. Well guess who was picked this time………MOMMY!!!!
My brother's girlfriend sent in some lame joke via text message and put MY NAME so when they read it outloud during the show I felt so stupid, even though they have no idea who I am. I was embarassed for myself!

We this saw this lovely lady what are these people thinking
yikes :scared: is that a Mom or that kids sister or what? Why in the name of all that is holy would you dress like that to WDW? I understand that some people feel they have an image and a reputation to uphold, but come on. One day, when she grows out of that phase, she is going to feel pretty dumb for wearing that get-up in 85 degree weather in WDW.

When turned around Happy was GONE!:scared1: !

Ironically, my brother did the same thing at the Disney Store when he was about 4 years old. You know how kids like to hide in the clothing racks (the ones no one uses anymore, specifically for this reason)? Well, he was in there hiding and when he came out he didn't see us as we had moved to the back of the store and he LEFT THE STORE and was wandering around the mall by himself. Thankfully a security guard found him but the doors to the mall are right next to the Disney Store...he easily could have walked out to the parking lot on his own, or worse...escorted by some creep!

Well after this scare I decided that I need to just sit and chill for a bit so we hit COP. Oh how I love this. But not this time around. There were 2 teens about 14-15 yr old sitting behind us. They were so loud and obnoxious. Making silly stupid comments about people and such.

What is wrong with people? If it's so lame and stupid, then take a nap and never ride it again! When we went in October, we had a few people in one of the other rooms that didn't understand the instructions "please remain seated." They had to keep stopping our rotation so we ended up listening to act 1 and 2 one full time each, and then halfway through a second time and then we missed the first half of act 3. I was so mad.

We did Ellen’s Energy Adventure Next. Like everyone else does Bashful and I fell asleep and we woke to Happy telling P he was tired of sitting for so long.:confused3

Aww! I've never done it and everyone always says it so great! I was really looking forward to it on my March trip!

We headed to Nemo. Not to jinx anything for the future but this ride has no line EVER.
::yes:: :thumbsup2

By this time out Soarin FP were ready. Again we can baby swap. Grammie and I were going to sit it out, she is terrified of heights and I’m not a fan of them either.

This is my favorite ride in all of WDW! I feel so sad for people that are afraid of heights because I want everyone to feel like I do when I ride it! It's very similiar to seeing the Castle for the first time on your trip...you know that tingly, goosebumps feeling?? I wish everyone could experience Soarin' this way!

He came out and told me that they worked a bit of Disney magic and he had an employee got the mall and get the Woody costume for Bashful and that there was no charge other than the cost of the costume. OK so Ill admit I am slowing becoming a SLACKER. Im not sure how this is happening. I was once good at juggling many things and somehow I am slowing losing my touch.
Between homework/projects(kindergarten),being a taxi for my kids and other kids, hockey and we certainly cant for DIS-ing and keeping up with all my favorite TR’s and threads this poor TR of mine has had to take a back seat. A really really back of the bus seat.:rotfl2:

But since SCOTTNY offered to come take over my duties I have found time to post about our trip within a trip. Thanks Scott:goodvibes

Sat Jan26th

We woke at 5am to get things ready for our 725am flt. As usually Happy gets up with no problem but Bashful is throwing a fit telling us he doesn’t want to goto Disney he wants to SLEEP!!!
Off to the airport and a fairly uneventful flt until the last 45 mins. We went through some real carpy turbulance. Even the flt attendants took their seats and strapped in. I was not a happy camper. I hate to fly and this was not up my ally at all. Lots of holding onto P like a baby and some good old praying and we landed safely in TPA.
Yes Tampa. We couldn’t get flts into MCO that were less than $700 per person and NO that was not 1st class!!!
I check the flts to tampa and they were $128 per person so I got a Premium car(SUV) for $110 for the 4 days and we still saved money:woohoo: . It always makes P happy when I tell him I saved him money.:rotfl2:
Oh I forgot to mention the people who sat across from us on the plane. They had a 8 month old little girl who when she fell asleep they laid on the FLOOR between his legs:eek: (they did pick her up when we hit the turbulance)!!!I was trying to figure out how to get a pic of this but I was making P nervous as it was very obvious I was trying to get a pic of this baby sleeping on the floor.

As some of you may remember we were going to stay at CBR this trip. We let the kids pic where to stay and of course it was POLY. Ok. Not really, it was sold out.:confused3
GF was $545 per nite and I was hesitant to spend that for a short trip. Normally no problem as we use the resort to swim or P uses the business center/concierge for business and we send stuff to be dry cleaned but this time there was going to be none of that. We asked Happy to pick another hotel and he chose CBR. Ok. I got us an AP rate of $105 per nite:cool1:

We decided since we were going to arrive at Disney aprrox 12NOON that we would head straight for MK and check in later that nite.
We pulled into PLUTO and off to TTC to catch the monorail into MK.
This was a 1st for us. We have never done this. Park at MK that is. It was a pain on this day as we were parked so far and had to take the tram to TTC but on the other days we got to the park early enough that we were in the 1st lot and didn’t have to take the tram.. If we didn’t have 2 strollers that needed to be folded to get on the tram Im sure it would have been easier.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2354/2235001288_0d9b78ea52.jpg

We had tickets to the P and PP tonite. This was the thing that started this whole trip(REMEMBER THIS). We are heading back to the World in Apr and had planned P and PP then. But they suddenly cancelled those dates and I was told they were not going to re-instate them. When I mentioned this to P he said we should try to get away for the Jan dates so the kids could see this as they really wanted to.

NO sooner did we get into MK did it start raining. HARD. Oh and did I mention it was COLD. Ok we headed for Pirates as this is always our 1st ride and take cover there. We then head across to Pecos Bill for a quick bite to eat.

The park was not crowded but at the same time there were lines for everything. We did our usual rotation of rides and then got the kids ready for P and PP. I had Capt Jack costumes for the boys. Happy was excited to get into his gear but not Bashful. He wanted nothing to do with that costume. It was not Woody and he wasn’t having any part of it. Ok then.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2414/2235041700_fa9a4c64f4.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2091/2235039936_72b8be504a.jpg

We toured around collecting booty and watched the Parade. The whole time is is raining and misting. We got a spot for the parade by CBJ and we had a bit of an overhang that protected us somewhat of the rain. We draped the ponchos over the boys in the stollers.(which we had to buy). We have no pics of this a P decided for some reason to video the parade and not take pics:confused3
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2167/2235038086_33d26d691d.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2009/2234250157_1459ac412c.jpg
After the parade were going to get ice cream and get a spot to watch the fireworks. Problem with that was Ice Cream Parlor was CLOSED as were most vending carts:headache:
So with this the wining began. After a bit Bashful fell asleep and Happy was so tired and wanted to goto bed. It started to rain hard at this point and we decided to just leave and head to CBR. So much for the party huh???:rotfl2:
And I hear that the party may be back in Apr after all:rotfl2:

Happy fell asleep in the car and well Bashfull was still sleeping. P ran into CBR to check in and was out in record time. It prob took him less than 5 mins to check in.Seriously.

We were in Aruba village, building 55 room 5515. It was ground floor with lagoon view. All this for the bargain price of $105, I felt like I won the lottery or something. :lmao:
We open the door and I was pleasantly surprised at the room. It was slightly larger than I remembered POR to be and it wasn’t tacky looking and appeared clean. After further inspection it was pretty clean except for the dust (just a little) on the nightstand between the beds. I Clorox wiped everything then lysol sprayed everthing and we were good to go. Except I forgot when I made my res to rqst bed-rails. I called for them and it took almost ˝ hr for them to get there. Not happy. Do these things gross anyone else out? They always look dirty and grimey to me. So I sprayed them down and put towels over them so the boys weret leaning against them. Problem solved. Nite Nite.

GF was $545 per nite and I was hesitant to spend that for a short trip. Normally no problem as we use the resort to swim or P uses the business center/concierge for business and we send stuff to be dry cleaned but this time there was going to be none of that.
I totally understand this logic! It's why I'm so hesitant to use my DVC points - you know, that I've already paid for?! - on single night stays. I always figure, if I'm only sleeping there, why "waste" the points on a nice hotel, right? Seems a bit Fuzzy. ;)
We pulled into PLUTO
PLUTO! I've had many pleasnt parking experiences in PLUTO. ::yes::
NO sooner did we get into MK did it start raining. HARD.
DOH! :headache:
Oh and did I mention it was COLD.
Okay, this is funny... that was my Bday and my friends from PA had just gotten in for a visit. We went to the beach for lunch and I had on jeans and a wool jacket. My PA friends were wearing Tshirts and shorts! :rotfl:

I'm sorry P&PP wasn't so good for you guys. But I'm glad CBR turned out well! So far... popcorn::

I got us an AP rate of $105 per nite:cool1: Woohooo :thumbsup2

This was the thing that started this whole trip(REMEMBER THIS). OK will do :rotfl2:

So much for the party huh???:rotfl2: So you got your moneys worth :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

It prob took him less than 5 mins to check in.Seriously.:thumbsup2

We woke at 5am to get things ready for our 725am flt. As usually Happy gets up with no problem but Bashful is throwing a fit telling us he doesn’t want to goto Disney he wants to SLEEP!!!

OMG this is SOO me! I love to sleep!

Apparently, to some people, children are just carry-on luggage that can be conveniently stored under your seat :sad2: What's so hard about laying her down in one of their laps? Let me guess: she was in the way of their tray with their laptop on it? ;)

NO sooner did we get into MK did it start raining. HARD. Oh and did I mention it was COLD.

That sucks! When we went last December it didn't rain but it was quote cold. It started off in the 80's but by day 3 it was in the 50's. We were totally unprepared!

Happy was excited to get into his gear but not Bashful. He wanted nothing to do with that costume. It was not Woody and he wasn’t having any part of it.

Aww, poor kid! Can't say I blame him - Captain Jack is SOOO overrated! :rotfl2:

After the parade were going to get ice cream and get a spot to watch the fireworks. Problem with that was Ice Cream Parlor was CLOSED as were most vending carts:headache:

:scared1: NO ICE CREAM??? WTH?? I would be whining too!

We really liked CBR, except that we were in Barbados and it was like a 10 minute walk to Old Port Royale. And in July, it was like 90 degrees by 8am so going to breakfast in the morning was a workout all on it's own. The sheer size of the resort is what makes us NOT go back.

Sunday Jan 27th

I woke up early as usual and wanted some coffee. After all the reports and debates about the cups in hotel rooms I was taking no chances making a cup in the room. P woke up just as I was done getting ready and I told him I was going to run to get a cup of coffee while he got ready. I took the map and boy it looked far to the snack shop but nothing terrible. As I opened the door the boys woke up so I decided not to go and just get them together so we could get to our CP ADR.
We got together in a timely manner and out the door we were. As we drove out of the complex I noticed how spread out everything is. WOW. The snack bar was far. It would have taken me forever to get there and back. If we didnt have a car I would have HATED this place. Way to spread out for us. Thank goodness we were only there for 3 nights and we didnt need to get around the resort. By the way the entire time we were there we didnt hear any noise of any construction. The only noise we heard the whole time was birds in the a.m. We didnt even hear a peep from any neighbor next to us or from above.
Ok we get to MK and head to CP for our ADR and most importantly, my fav puffy french toast and cheese grits.YUMMO.

When we were done with breakfast I told P that we needed to get some sweatshirts or something as it was freezing. I packed us long sleeve shirts and fleece jackets but it was still cold. Actually all of us were cold as there was no sun out and it was due to be overcast and no sun today mid 60s said the weather. 3 fleece pullovers later we were off to Neverland. I love this ride and wish it were longer. No sooner do you get in the "ship" and its over.
We again did our usual rotation of attractions. Happy was not happy that Splash was closed but we sure were:rotfl2: way to chilly to get wet.
Again the streets were not crowded but there were lines for all attractions. Thank goodness for Baby Swap as that does help for some rides. Not sure what we are going to do when Bashful starts to actually grow:rotfl: .

We had ADR tonite at WCC. We took the boat over and had a nice dinner we didnt have dessert as we wanted to have the ice cream we didnt have the night before. We took the bus back to MK and went on CoP and we were the only ones in the theatre. We all sang or hearts out. All 4 of us LOVE this.
We got our ice cream as the boys couldnt wait any longer and ya know what. They took a few bites and said it was "too cold for ice cream"
Now as I said I am always cold but I have never heard a kid complain its to cold for ice cream. I guess my kids are strange.
I have to say that even though it was a bit on the nippy side, I enjoyed walking around with my crappy cup of coffee to keep me warm. In all my times to the World I have never been when I had to wear a jacket.:confused3 . I enjoyed it.
We watched Wishes and then headed back to CBR for some sleep.

Monday Jan 28th

We got ourselves together and headed to CP for breakfast again. We NEVER tire of it here and we have gotten to know the waiter/waitresses and chefs very well here so its almost like visiting old friends:rotfl2:
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2273/2242282225_70ef8a77be_m.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2085/2243073844_311ea10a74_m.jpg
Today was our Epcot day. So we got ourselves over there and were pleasantly surprised at how empty it was. It was early still so we werent doing a dance yet. We saw that SE was open and I said to P to take the boys and get in line and I would park the strollers and catch up. Well there was NO line:cool1: . I couldnt believe it. I knew the park seemed empty but SE has been closed so long I figured there would be a line....NOPE a walk on:confused3
They kids enjoyed the interactive part of the journey and so did we. It was a bit weird to hear a different narrator but I think we enjoyed it just as much.
We def enjoyed the interactive stations after you get off the ride. P and I a very competitive so we had a good time seeing who was better at what.(he whipped my butt in everything)

We headed to get a FP for Soarin then rode the Land. When we got off the Land I noticed that Bashful felt warm and asked P if he felt warm to him. He said he did and that when he was holding him on SE he felt warm and didnt seem himself(thanks for tellin' me P, way to go)
We headed to Nemo and then back to Soarin.

I love the jellyfish!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2227/2242282679_ba7c539bbd_b.jpg
By this time Bashful was a bit clingy and was def feeling like he had a fever. I was really torn as to what to do a this point. Do I take Bashful back to CBR and just chill with him and let P and Happy stay and enjoy the day or do I stay and see how Bashful is holding up as he isnt crying or carrying on he jusst wants to be held. Happy kind of made up my mind as he wanted me to stay so I could ride stuff with him too. He melted my heart as he said"I will miss you if you go, it wont be as much fun without you too mommy".
So go ahead flame away.....
I stayed. Bashful had fallen asleep in the stoller and I figured if he wasnt going on any rides and contaminating anything then I guess it was ok. I mean if he was going to sleep it didnt really matter if we were back at CBR or not. And that is just what he did the rest of the day from like 1230 on. Sleep. We went to the baby care center to get Tylenol but when he did wake up he wanted no part of taking it. He is very stubborn when it come to taking medication. It is almost comical the things we need do to get him to take something. You cant even disguise it in a drink or ice-cream as the bugger can tell.
Anyway we did our faves(TT,Soarin and Mission Space) a few times and then Happy wanted to go on Figment as he calles it(Journey into Imagination). I remembered it was closed for some reason so we headed into WS for a while.
We had a nice leisurely stroll around WS all the while Basfull is sound asleep. We grabbed a quick bite at the American Pavillion cs and then decided to call it an early night. It was about 830pm and IROE was due to start soon and we thought the noise might bother him and we just wanted to get back so he could rest better.
In no time we were back in the room with both kids sound asleep.
We were leaving the next day so I took this time to pack up and take a shower.
While I was in the shower I heard that Bashful had woken up. WHen I got out P was trying to get him to take some Tylenol as he still felt really warm(great mom I am I didnt bring a thermometer:confused3 )
You thought we were trying t give this kid poison or something as he was taking it for anything.
I got situated for bed and P was holding Bashful and that when it happened. What you might ask???
He throw up all over the bed and P nicely handed him to me to carry him over to the sink and he got me too.Another shower for me. Oh what a mess. What do we do now.
As you know CBR has 2 dbl beds and one of them was now ruined. Do we call housekeeping it was 11pm and I wasnt sure if they would come and make noise or what. I took the sheets of the bed immediately and threw them away(sorry but I wasnt saving them, Disney can afford a new pair of cheap sheets)they mattress was slightly wet so I lysoled everything down then clorox wiped it. He only got it in the bed and a bit on the side of the bed and then the sink, sorry TMI:rotfl2: The rug was spared. We decided not to call housekeeping and just try to wing it in 1 bed. Thats right. 4 people in 1 double bed. It wasnt fun..
He said he felt much better but still felt hot.
We finally got to sleep about 1230a and somehow we tried to sleep all bunched up.

Ok so we TRIED to sleep all together like 1 big happy family in 1 VERY SMALL bed but that really wasnt happening for P or I. We kind of just rested our eyes and let the boys get a good night sleep while we lay there crunched up. Isnt it amazing how long the night is when your not sleeping??
So it was finally late enough (630a) for me to get up and start getting our things together AGAIN as today was the day we are going home.
I got showered and ready and packed up. P then did the same before we woke the boys. We decided it was ok if we got a late start today, even though it was our last day. We are coming back in Apr and no sense rushing the boys if Bashful was ill. Bashful woke on his own and had the most pathetic look on his face and his cheeks were bright red. He was holding his ear and saying that it hurt. UT OH!!!Was he getting an ear infection???I hope not as I heard it is very painful to fly with one. I was VERY nervous. P told me to calm down and lets not jump to conclusions just yet.
We were all ready to leave so I placed a call to Housekeeping to let them know what went on in our room last night. I told her i threw the sheets out and lysoled the bed/mattress etc but the mattress pad did get slightly wet .
She said she would tell someone and then said "oh, you threw the sheets out, good idea". You could hear that she liked the idea but also that maybe they havent done this before. EWWWWW I might be sleeping on sheets that someone barfed on before.....Note to self. Lysol sheets down real good next time:rotfl2: .
We were out the door and took our time getting to MK. We had ADR at where else....CP. We figured if we dont make our ADR no big deal but surprisingly we did kind of. We were 10 mins late but they took us with no problem.
The boys didnt eat anything but toast but P and I filled up on our last day of Puffy french toast and cheese grits.
After a L O N G and relaxing breakfast Bashful looked much better. He said he had no more"boo-boos" and wanted to see Mickey Mouse.

We headed to Toon Town and we walked right into the character room at the Fair.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2202/2246574691_511e7fc2fa.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2382/2246574865_b14f55434b.jpg
Then straight into the judges tent to see the big cheese himself!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2064/2246574971_896e3a25a7.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2290/2247369862_aa05aa6886.jpg

We did a few more rides but I couldnt get the thought of Bashful holding his ear out of my head and by now even though he felt fine he kept grabbing at his ear alot all morning. P now agreed with me that maybe he was getting an ear infection as he saw him pulling at it and his ear was red too.
I called our Dr. to see what he thought about us flying home toda and he advised that it takes usually a good 24 hrs for the antibiotics to "kick in" so unless we were planning on staying a day or 2 that we should just bite the bullet and come home today. He advised to take motrin for pain and benedryl to make him sleep about 1/2 hr before flt. He also said to get warm packs to help as well.
We went back and forth over what to do. Would P and Happy go home and I stay with Bashful. Would we all goto Tampa and stay over there and fly home in day or so(P has an office in Tampa so he could work from there) but we really didnt want Happy to miss anymore school.
Well we decided to just wing it and see how he felt later in the day. Our flt wasnt until 615 our of Tpa. P called our Tampa office and asked if they could go to Pharmacy for us and get what we needed and meet us at airport and they were kind enough to do that for us. There are some great people there, we are very lucky.
So we kind of just went about our day and had a good time. No fever all day for Basful:banana:
TOday of course being the day we leave was the day with the best weather. We actually go to take off jackets and fleece pullovers:cool1: . It was a gorgeous day.
We hit Pirates one last time(remember we have rituals:rotfl2: ) and then headed for the airport.
We met Susan at the airport to collect our medicine and headed to our gate. Did you know that in TPA they have a special line for strollers at the security checkpoint???Well I sure didnt. We got there and there was a huge line, not biggie we gave ourselves time. But when Mr. Security man saw us stroll over he opened up a new line for us. Im not sure if this is the norm but thank you Mr Security man.
We got to our gate to see the dreaded"delayed" up on the board.
The gate agent said it was a 1/2 hr delay. Ok. we took a quick walk around and tried to get Bashful to take the motrin and benedryl. No such luck. He wasnt having any of it. The flight was now 1hr delayed. We tried to get on another flt they said it was not leaving either as Newark ATC stopped all inbound flights(what else is new:rotfl2: ) Our delay was now up to 2 hrs and we didnt know what to do. We went over to Delta Crown room(no Continental Lounge) for a few then got nervous that if Newark ATC resumed flts we would miss ours.
WHen we got back to our gate I saw another flt to Newark boarding and it was after ours. Whats with that. They are letting a later flt go off before ours:confused3 .Well thats what they said. I asked if we could get on this one and they said ok. We hopped on and as luck would have it --it was empty.. There were 29 rows on this flt and we were in row 19. There were exactly 3 people behind us. We had the whole back of the aircraft to ourselves:woohoo: In front of us maybe 15-20 passengers.
We of course were delayed but the kids were handling it pretty well, even Bashful. THank goodness for DVD players and Ipods:rotfl2: .
We took off soon enough and we had the best crew.Continental usually has some sketchy characters but these were the cream of the crop or whatever it is they say:rotfl2: I had informed them that I thought maybe Bashful was getting an ear infection and if they heard any screaming it was just him. They were so kind and helpful. They kept checking on us. Bashful was ok for take off but about 10 mins or so in he was not happy and everyone knew it. Surprisingly everyone was so nice. He finally fell asleep after about 10-15 mins. I think the warm pack helped. He and Happy slept the entire way home. Thank God!!!
Well that about sums it up for this very quick trip to the World. We are planning our next trip for Apr 27-May4th and the boys already cant wait.
So I will finish up the Oct TR next.

AWW poor Bashful, I was always getting ear infections as a kid, and I always woke the day we were leaving for vacation with one. Many times Mom was racing me to the DR. while Dad stayed home and made sure the car service waited in the driveway for us to get back.

SO how many pieces of puffy french toast did you have on this quick little trip, I'm jealous!!!!! THough I will have some Tuesday morning! And I will be thinking of you T!

Oh and after reading this, I want to bring my own sheets:eek:

I'm glad the day went well enough, but poor Bashful. I flew with my best friend at spring break, age 13 or so, when she had an ear infection, and she was miserable - and a lot older than Bashful!

The flight delays sound maddening - once we are on the road home I just want to get there - but how lucky to have a mostly empty plane and a great flight crew! :thumbsup2

LOL! :lmao: I didn't realize that you went a couple of weeks ago! Sorry Bashful got sick. I just hate this time of year. I'm not quite halfway through this but I wanted to make sure I was subbed. Again, I'm sorry I didn't sub earlier but it's all your fault that you don't know the fine art of pimping our TR ... ;)

Of note:

1. I totally saw the Pluto in the trees! :thumbsup2
2. Your view was horrendous. I don't believe they should allow a view like that no matter what.
3. I didn't realize all your allergies. It has to be very hard on all of you. I would have traveled with you and eaten the peanut butter mousse from Pecos Bill! ;)

Day 5
Wednesday

So this morning was not much different than the others. We woke and got ready then peeled the boys out of bed.

We took the boat over to the CR as we were having breakfast at CM.
We love the character interaction here. They seem to spend just a little more time with you.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3117/2290400190_609754e302.jpghttp://farm4.static.flickr.com/3070/2289651317_0e23f074cf.jpg
Happy took a few pics while waiting--OMG my arms and legs look HUGE:eek:
Anyway, we got there about 10 mins early only to have to wait 20 mins.
about the whole meal went by with no characters then when we asked for the check they all started coming.

Goofy saw that P was wearing a golf hat and motioned that he played golf. They somehow got into a conversation of sorts using sign language and Goofy asked P to play golf. P said “right here” and Goofy nodded yes.
P might have been a bit embarrassed as the entire room was watching them pretend to play golf The kids got a big kick out of it. Goofy even suggested that they pose for a pic at the end.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3105/2290452902_943c5ff833.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2069/2289667459_c025325184.jpg
After all the characters made there rounds we walked over and got on the monorail to head to MK. We rode just a few rides and then headed back to spend most of the day at the pool. Just after lunch I put Bashful in the stroller and went for a walk to get him to fall asleep for a nap. When I returned I saw all this commotion going on at the pool.
Upon closer inspection I saw a man lying on the side of the pool and he was getting CPR. OMG what happened. Everyone was in the water gathered round watching this. I started looking for P and Happy and I spotted them in the water watching this. I yelled out that this was not the type of thing Happy should see and to “get out of the water with him” . P got out of the water and said “don’t you read signs” WHAT???What does that mean. He pointed to all the staff standing around the pool holding signs saying “lifeguard Training in Progress. PHEW this was not real. P said they explained to everyone especially the kids that this was NOT REAL and not to be worried that they were just practicing.
I felt like an idiot for not reading the signs.
We went back to the room to change and get ready for Dinner. Tonight we were going to celebrate Grammies B-day.( Tomorrow is her B-day but we have MNSSHP ).
Once all together we headed to Mk for dinner at CP.
Due to our allergies most of the items on the buffet were off limits to Happy,Basful, Poppy, and me due to cross contamination issues. The chef had walked the buffet with me and anything we wanted he brought to our table family style.. has anyone tried their Mediterranean pasta salad???It was yummy I think that was a major portion of my dinner. Again they were super accommodating for us. No dessert as there was nothing for us there.
After dinner I cant remember what we did but I do remember that Poppy and Grammie left us early as they were tired. we decided to get ice cream at Plaza Ice Cream. P went in to get our usual and while he was in ther(in a huge line) Happy informed me he didn’t want ice cream he wanted a frozen coke. Ok I tell P and then head over to the Lunching Pad to get a frozen coke. Ok so know Happy is happy and when I get back P is just walking out of the store. He hands Bashful his chocolate ice cream and he starts to eat it and says he doesn’t like it. WTH….You don’t like it, you practically eat it everyday we are here.Side note: I know this sounds silly but there isn’t much in the way of ice cream that we can eat. Most or all of it is made in facilities that uses shared equipment, so due to cross contamination it is off limits to us. Disney is one of the few places that my kids can actually have ice cream as Edys made chocolate and vanilla specifically for Disney on separate equip. We eat lots of ice cream when in Disney.)
So I take the ice cream from him and we decide to head back to the hotel early.
As we are waiting for the bus I am cleaning out the stroller and for some reason I taste the ice cream an it tastes funny, kind of like hazelnut and looks very dark in color. I tell P to taste this as I don’t think they gave us choc. He takes a bite and says it tastes nutty to him and we begin to P A N I C. Just then the bus pull in and we rush back to the resort and head straight to the front desk. We tell them we have severe nut allergies and we think they gave us the wrong ice cream. She asks if we need medical attention and we said no as Bashful was having no signs of a reaction and I had Epi-Pens with me just in case. The front desk called the Plaza and they said they don’t have hazelnut ice cream..Phew…Ok but what did we get as it was NOT regular choc ice cream. We asked if was possibly tofutti as the server asked P several time if he wanted that and he said no as Happy is allergic to soy(its soy ice cream). They actually told us they don’t carry Tofutti. P said well take a look at the sign on the wall it says “Tofutti”. With that a manager got on the phone and asked for the server number/.name on receipt and they got that person on the phone. Turned out she did give us Tofutti in error. That goodness Bashful ate it and not Happy(Bashful isn’t allergic to soy just Happy). Needless to day we were a bit ticked by this error as P clearly told them no Tofutti. The front desk handled it well and advised us to write to customer relations and inform them of this.

Well after all this we were drained and just couldn’t wait to get some sleep. Back to the room for some much needed rest.

UP NEXT: WILL HAPPY MAKE IT ON EE??

And that soy mixup is scary. I wonder about when they are scooping ice cream do you say anything to them? I think that they do the "rinse in warm water" thing with the scoop and there could be some cross contamination there?

Their procedure is to use a new sterilized scoop for each allergy order. THey also must use a new unopened container of ice cream and must scoop it in the back room away from all the nuts and stuff up front.

When I called they told me to order and flag order with allergy information --then goto counter to p/u ice cream and ask for manager to fill the order. We did this in Jan and had no problem:thumbsup2

This just adds to a theory I have about WDW... if you say "no" or "not" about anything, you're almost guaranteed to get exactly what you didn't want. :headache: I though it only applied to rooms, (as in, "NOT ground-floor" and I'm placed in a ground-floor room), but it clearly traverses all arenas. I'm just glad nothing bad happened as a result. :sad2:

Obviously I dont want either of my kids to have a problem but..I am glad that Bashful was the one who ate it and not Happy. Happy is super sensitive and we would have had a problem.
We didnt write customer relations as I thought the letter might get lost in the mail shuffle. Day 6
Thursday

Up bright and early as we have a 810 am res at Donalds Breakfastosaurus(or whatever its called:rotfl2: ).
We are out the door on time and have the dreaded wait for the bus. Every bus that came by was for everywhere else but AK.
Finally it arrives and we are off…..to Fort Wilderness..UGGG
On our way there this bus driver was driving like a lunatic. There was our family and 2 others on the bus. Well when this driver got to the gate house at FW I guess he thought the gate would stay up from the bus that was in front of us but it didn’t and C R A S H right into the arm thingy:scared1: . OMG he slammed on those brakes sooo hard. The little boy in front o us smashed his face on the bar in front of him and was bleeding a bit and Grammy hit her wrist on the bar in front of her. Thank goodness Poppy was holding Bashful on his lap or he would have flew right to the front of the bus.
This guy didn’t even see if anyone was hurt. He just got out and lifted the arm thing up and drove right in.
After 2 more stops(BB and TL) we finally arrived AK at 805am.
We headed straight for our ADR and they had the table decorated for Grammie as today was her b-day.
Breakfast seemed a bit rushed but they did have the entire room sing Happy Birthday to Grammie. I think she wanted to crawl under the table:lmao: . She also got a b-day card from all the characters.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3089/2329833214_fc6419ee3d.jpg
1st Stop was Dinosaur. There was no line so we walked right on and it was a bit scary:eek: . I closed my eyes on a few parts.
Then P took the boys on Tricerattop Spin.
Happy wanted to ride PW but after readin DisneyLand Mamas TR about smelly armbars NO CAN DO:rotfl: . NO WAY HAPPY, sorry.
P ran to get us FP at EE and they told him it was closed. WTH, Happy was going to be devastated. He was able to get the FP but they said they could not guarantee it would be up later.
Kali had a 10 min wait so everyone went I stayed with Bashful,

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3132/2329823686_7387eb7903_b.jpg

then we did the baby swap and I rode with P and Bashful. Leet me tell ya We were soaked like never before. It was like we all just jumped in a pool with our clothes on. We have never gotten this wet EVER on a ride before. We ALL need to go buy new clothing that’s how wet we were. People were in the bathroom drying their underwear and clothing under the hand dryers, it was some sight to see.:scared: SOme people were in there underwear trying to get themselves positioned just right others were holding there undies in there hands.OMG CRAZY!!
We all got changed and then we saw Devine. She is beautiful.

We then hit the safari and had fun relaxing for a bit whilst animal watching.

We heard EE was going to start up very soon..

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2187/2329016025_1c2021b97b.jpg
Happy giving thumbs up that he is ready to ride!!
Soon enough it opened and I said I wanted to watch a few trains go by and check it out. Before I know it the boys are gone….OMG I was having another panic attack. I wanted to check this out before I turned my 5yo over to the YETI.... Next thing I know see them getting on the train. I think I almost fell over as I just saw up close how fast this thing goes. I was talking to a few moms who were just as nervous as I. OH MY I see them going up the big mountain. My little fearless man came running off the ride yelling how he LOVED IT. We had gotten a baby swap and Happy wanted me to go on with him but P didn’t think I could handle it. He said the backwards part might do me in. So Happy, P and Uncle C went again. P somehow videoed this time and Happy still watches it ALL the time. As a matter of fact he has become OBSESSED with MT Everest and the YETI. He has us searching all over the internet for Yeti/Bigfoot sightings and we got him Harry and the Hendersons movie and he watches that thing several times a week.
By this time it was 1pm or so and it was HOT, really HOT so we decided to call it a day and head back to swim before MNSSHP tonight.
