Turning 21 a few days before the trip. I love Disney World and all things Disney. I've taken a few solo trips and my last of which involved a dis meet! (If you want to check out my last adventure head over HERE! (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1553866):goodvibes ) Anyway I love to have fun and try anything at least once (within reason). This whole trip is basicly a gift to myself (yes I know shallow) to celebrate my 21'st birthday! It all started last year when I had to get my passport for another trip I was going on. I thought about how much I wanted to do a cruise and since I was turning 21 and had a passport why not book a Disney Cruise! Gotta put that passport to good use! I also love photography so there will be tons and tons of pics. I got an Annual pass for WDW in July so this will most likely be my last trip using it before it expires. :( My fave characters would have to be Tinkerbell of course, Belle, and Stitch.

Anyway so back in March I was looking at the cruises I decided why not book! So thats what I did. May 15-18 2008 sailing on the Disney Wonder with a stop at Nassau and Castaway Cay. I have never been to anywhere tropical like this so I'm very very excited. I booked a cat 12 GTY for the very reason that I wont be in the room except to sleep so I dont need anything fancy.

So anyway after I booked I told my best friend B about it and she went home and looked up the cruise online. Turns out that very same night B and her boy friend K booked for the very same cruise!

So Now I will introduce you to B.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v375/tinkerbell51287/3%20Day%20get%20away%202007/3daygetaway707156.jpg
20 soon to be 21 in March. She loves Disney as well but not nearly as much as myself. Actually she doesn't even know how big of a Disney geek I am. :geek: Her favorite characters would have to be the Princess' with Belle being her fave. Her and her BF recently moved down to FL and I went down in July and we ended up spending the day at the Magic Kindom. She hadn't been since she was little so it was truly a blast! Shes kind of shy but loves to have fun. This will also be her first cruise and she is already counting the days.

Her BF K will be the last one joining us on the cruise.

He will be 21 in a few weeks and is slowly coming around to being a Disney lover. He had a blast in July when we went to the Magic Kingdom and it even suprised B and myself how much fun he was having. This will be his first cruise as well.

We are all so excited to be heading on this cruise together for a nice relaxing vacation. The three of us always have a great time together so we are expecting this cruise to be no different.

Fast forward from March to Today:

Nothing too much has happened between then and now till tonight. I had been planning to fly down the day before the cruise and stay at the Hyatt hotel at MCO air port. When I actually thought about it and looked it up the Hyatt would cost over $200 with my AAA discount. I could stay at a moderate resort for less than that.

After our dis meet the begining of this month we have been talking about another meet in May since we had such a fantastic time. So turns out our meet is going to be a 2 day even May 21 and 22 so that means more time for me at WDW after the cruise!
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7ce00b3127ccebe7cb72553bc00000025100BaMWzNuzcMS
This is 5 out of the 17 Dis'ers that met up that night in all of our Lime green glory!

B and K wont be with me for this half of the trip since going on the cruise is already putting such a hole in their pockets. I wish they could head down for a couple of days but as of right now its not going to happen.

So after reading on the Dis I found out that you can use the magical express to your first resort, get a Disney transfer to and from port back to resort and then magical express back to the airport. Still with me? I wont even need to get any other form of transporation, its all covered by Disney.

So back to tonight, after all my research I decided to finally book my resort reservations. I first called WDW direct and had a very rude CM saying anything done with the cruise has to be done by them, even resort stays. :confused3 So I then called the cruise line and I had a great CM named Nicole. She explained that you should NEVER mention the word cruise because that just shuts them off. She said she would be glad to book my rooms but she can only do that for 7 night cruises. So she told me to call WDW back and dont mention the cruise and that I need to book 2 reservations and to call her back to change the transfers I had already got with my cruise package. So off I went again to call WDW and this time I had a wonderful CM (I wish I got her name). She was a great help and really friendly and in no time at all I had a room at the Carribean beach resort before the cruise and a room at Pop Century for 5 nights after.

I wish I could of gotten Coronado Springs for my night before the cruise but Nicole at the cruise line said they only pick up for port at certain resorts and coronado is the only Moderate resort that isnt included. Oh well I'm very excited to stay at CBR since it will be my first ever stay at a moderate. I've always been a value girl and since I was planning on the Hyatt at $200 this was a cheaper upgraded choice with an extra night of magic added in!

I called the cruise line back and luckly I got Nicole again. :cool1: She then changed my airport/port -port/airport transfers to resort/port - port/resort. She was telling me all about the cruise and all the things that are on it and that just pumped me up even more! :cool1: I hope these next 6+ months go by really fast. 10 days of vacation bliss and I can't wait!

So the dates are:
May 14-15 Carribean Beach Resort
May 15-18 Disney Cruise
May 18-23 Pop Century

I can't wait to read all about your cruise, even though we are not going to be doing the same itinerary I can't wait to hear about your experience.

The dis meet should be a blast as well, hopefully you don't all get rained on this time!:rotfl:

Thanks for following the link Lessa. :goodvibes Aww 15 months isnt early, you have some great stories within your trippie. I just hope I have some exciting things to report as I wait the 6+ months.

The dis meet should be another blast. Most of the girls that stayed behind that night will be coming back for the meet. I wish they were all able to come :( But the over all theme is rain or shine. We are actually going to have 2 days of meets :goodvibes One dinner at a resort and another park day. Hopefully we can beat the rain this time!

It is too bad that your job does not allow travel time in December, we could have had a Dis meet. I wish I could go in May but all the money I am plunking down for the December trip makes it impossible for me to go in May.:sad2:

I know it actually really stinks. I've been trying to figure out a way I could get down there even for 3 or 4 days using a personal day at work. But somehow my boss wouldnt go for the idea of taking time off to head to Disney World. :confused3

Haha you can never go on enough trips! I figure do all this stuff now while I'm young and have the chance.

I wish I could do the week cruise but Disney slams you with a single cruiser charge. B and K are in a different state room but since I'm by myself I have to pay 75% of another cruise price. So basicly I have to pay 175% of the price. So 4 days is all I can afford with that.

I'm very excited for CBR and the beaches. I think I'm going to relax at the resort the day I get there enjoy the beaches, have dinner at Shutters and then head over to MK or something. But I've got time to figure all that out :lmao:. Thats very cool you can see Illuminations from the beach. I may have to stay and watch that.

Glad you came over to join me on this pre trippie!!! Thanks for reading girl!

Ok let me first start out by saying Congrats Red Sox!!!

Next today I get an email from soutwest saying that because my home team won the world series I get 3 bonus credits on my rapid rewards account! I should be pretty close to getting a free flight by now so I have to wait for my credits to post to see if there are. How sweet would that be to get a free flight for May?! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I actually had a dream last night that we were on the cruise. Can you believe it, 6+ months away and I'm already Disney dreaming.

Oh and my 180 day mark is November 20th for the second part of my trip. I'm thinking of doing LE Cellar at Epcot for lunch one day and the night before the cruise eating at Shutters at CBR.

For our Dis meet we are doing 2 days May 21 and 22 one day were thinking of meeting up at Epcot and the other going to Ohana and the polynesian for a Dis dinner.

The park hours should be out soon for May so I can't wait to really start planning. I'm thinking of hanging at CBR the day before the cruise, having dinner at shutters and then heading to MK for the parade and fireworks. But I don't know for sure.

Ohh I just love planning. Thats half the fun of going on a Disney vaca...ok maybe not half the fun but its fun for passing the time. :goodvibes

My bonus credits posted to Southwest and it looks like I only need 1 more credit till my free flight. So I wont have a free flight for my trip in May :(

But...if things are cheap enough I may be taking a short trip next Fall to use up that free flight. Can't let that go to waste right? So there you have it I have officially gone crazy. this trip isnt even close to being planned yet and I'm already thinking about another trip. Just send me to the Disney crazy house now. :lmao:

Alright so the park hours for May 08 were released (well all except for Future World at Epcot) and it's time to really start planning.

And as much as I really hate planning where I'm going to be eating for my table service you really have to think about it if you want a certain place and time. I generally don't do too many of the table service places because I'm totally fine with counter service. But I've read so many great things about some of these restraunts that I just have to try them.

So heres what I'm thinking for restraunts:
Le Cellier Steakhouse -Lunch

Ohana-Dis meet dinner

Grand Floridian Cafe-Dinner
Or
Concourse Steak House-Dinner
Or
Kona Cafe-Dinner

I need your help deciding between those last 3. I want to do one of those the night before the cruise. I'm going to be relaxing at CBR that day and want to go out for a nice dinner and then head over to the MK. So whats your opinions??

I would go to Kona, then you can get a Lapu Lapu in honour of the Dis!:thumbsup2 It could also be your celebratory drink since you are now able to legally drink.

I always hated traveling in the States before I turned 21 because the drinking age in Canada is 19. So I was able to have a drink with dinner up here but not in the States. So annoying.:headache:

Speaking of turning 21 I cant wait to head over to Epcot and finally get to have one of those margaritas!! I'm so excited!

That must of stunk going from Canada to the States. My friend goes to college up in Canada and she said its nice to go out to a restraunt and get to have a drink with dinner.

Ok so it was a very rainy day here in NH so what better way to spend the day off than shopping and a movie?!

I headed out to the mall this morning for some Christmas and B-day shopping for friends and family. There are a lot of Nov, Dec b-days I have to buy for so starting early is a good thing. Specially where the malls are going to be getting crazy in the next couple weeks. :scared1:

Anyway I can't make a trip to the mall without a stop in the Disney store. I ended up walking out of there with this wicked cute ornamant for the tree
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7cf27b3127ccebf1e7aab141a00000026100BaMWzNuzcMS
Its Cinderella's glass slipper! How cute is that? The woman said they have been flying and they already sold 4 more before me. She also said they were going to be getting a Tink ornamant in soon so I will have to check back to see that one.

Also I went into Best Buy and saw the display for the Ratatouille movie and I just had to get the DVD. Now I hadnt even seen the movie but I love all the other Pixar movies, I use to go to school for culinary and I went to Paris a few months ago so thats the whole background of the movie right there and I figured I would love it. I'm kind of an impulse shopper if you can't tell.
So now I'm the proud owner of...
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7cf27b3127ccebf1e7aa1141000000025100BaMWzNuzcMS

Now after my shopping spree at the mall I stopped at the store to get my little brother some juice since he was home from school sick. We spent the afternoon watching ratatouille and it's such a cute movie! Remy is so cute and I just love the whole idea of him being able to cook. And loved the views of Paris in the movie, they were so life like!

So my Disney day didn't end there...
I figured since the hourse are out and my 180 day mark is on Nov 20 I should start planning out my days. Yes I know I'm crazy! But planning is half the fun right?! So anyway heres what I'm thinking so far...

May 14- Arrive at CBR
Relax and explore resort
Dinner at Kona Cafe I took all your advice and I'm excited to try this resturant
Magic Kingdom after Dinner

May 15- Check out of CBR
Take bus to Port for Disney cruise

15-18 Disney Cruise

May 18- Arrive back at WDW check into Pop Century
I don't know What time I will get in from port so I don't have too much planned
If I get in early enough Downtown Disney or the Boardwalk
Concourse Steakhouse- Dinner
Magic Kingdom-PM EMH

May 19-
Epcot
Le Cellier-Lunch
Afternoon break
Animal Kingdom-PM EMH

May 20-
Animal Kingdom or Downtown Disney
Afternoon break
MGM

May 21-
Grand Flordian Spa morning
Ohana Dis Meet Dinner

May 22-
Dis Meet at Epcot

May 23-
Magic Kingdom
Head for home

Now this obviously is going to change about 1 million times but I just wanted to plan it out a bit to see how the week will go.

Almost time to make ADR's!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

You will probably get to WDW between 10-11 after the cruise. You have to leave the ship by 8:30 at the latest I believe and it is 1 1/2 trip from the port so I think you will have plenty of time for DTD or the Boardwalk.

Me too :goodvibes I think you guys are right, it's really going to get me in the tropical mood.

Oh wow 10 or 11 is a lot earlier than I thought. Thanks so much for the info, I knew you would know. :)

I still got to grab the Cruise passporter. Maybe I'll do that this weekend.
Thanks again Lessa!

Have any of you taken the Keys to the Kingdom tour? I wanted to take it before and actually had it booked but ended up not going due to a post poned trip. I'm thinking of doing it on my last day for the earliest tour. I will have plenty of time since I'm planning on getting the last flight out of Orlando to my home city.

So my question...Have you been on the Keys to the Kingdom tour and what did you think about it?

Thanks!!

I've actually done the tour twice and it's a pretty interesting tour. If you know the history of the MK, then you won't really learn anything you don't already know. You do get to go backstage a little bit and they take you down in the tunnels in one small area. They don't let you do too much exploring. ;) You can also see the parade floats in the back during the tour. You'll have lunch with your group at the Harbor House, so that's what makes the tour a little longer than usual. Plus, you get a cool key keepsake pin. :thumbsup2 It's probably one of the best tours, if not the best. It's worth it if you are a MK fanatic. :wizard:

I'm glad you liked Ratatouille, I'm hoping to get it this weekend. Shoppers has a special on where if I use some points I can get it for $10. That's a good price here.

I'm so jealous that you've been to France! What a traveller you are! It's always been a dream of mine to go to France... maybe one day, I am a French teacher after all! :rotfl:

Hope you got Ratatouille this weekend for the cheap price. I'm such a bargan shopper so $10 is always a good deal.

Thats so cool that you are a French teacher. I took it for 4 years and I wish I did more.

France was amazing! That was actually a dream of mine to go to Paris at some point in my life too. My friend from work is from France (she has only been here 6 years) and I was always asking her what it was like and her stories from back home. (I took French in middle and high school and loved it but nothing can compare to a story from a real Parisian). Anyway so one day she was telling me a story about how she lived in Paris and I was telling her how I've always dreamed of going there etc *like I always did every time*. She shocked me this time by just saying "were gonna go". I kind of brushed it off like "yea right". Well she went home that night after work and had her husband looking up prices (hes from France too) for flights and hotels and before we knew it a trip was booked for us two and another friend from work.

We went in May and it was an amazing experience, one I will never forget. I truly owe her for taking us on that trip and leaving her family for those days for us to go. She gave up her mothers day with her kids to spend it with us in France and I got to spend my 20th birthday over there. We went for 6 days and did a ton in that amount of time. No sleeping for us!

If you ever get the chance to go, do it! It was beautiful and she already wants to take us back to Paris and maybe Italy. The three of us had a ball on our girls trip.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Alright so with all this talk of Ratatouille and France I've decided to post some pictures from my trip to Paris 6 months ago.

Two friends and myself went to Paris May 9-14. (If you want to read how the trip came about check out my last post) It is an amazingly beautiful city, everything I thought it would be.

We landed in Paris at 6am from a long flight from Boston MA. We didn't sleep a wink on the plane or at all the day we got to Paris. Lets just say thats the longest I have ever been up without sleep in my whole life!

Of course the Eiffle tower

http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7cf30b3127ccebff8704f967500000025100BaMWzNuzcMS
We hiked the stairs to the second level. Mind you we had just arrived in Paris with no sleep...man that was a long hike up. (We actually never made it up to the very top that day so we knew we would have to go back)

View from the first level. Our hotel was by that really tall building (Montparnasse). We were about 5 blocks away.

After climbing back down the tower we went over to the Seine and took a Batteau Mouche river cruise seeing all the landmarks by boat.

The best way to see Paris on a short time limit is to use these open air double deckers. They go all over to the different areas of Paris and run all day into the early night. You can get on and off as you please. We had a great time on these busses. There was one time where it started to rain and everyone ended up going down below to where its covered. Not the 3 of us we just got the umbrellas out and kept taking pictures of the city we had the whole top of the bus to ourselves! The people watching the bus go by must of thought we were crazy.

The Louvre was Beautiful and my favorite thing we got to see. The museum's close so early so we didn't have too much time to explore. It's huge anyway so you would need at least 2 or 3 days to see it all. The museum guard said that only 1/3 of the museum collection is on display and the rest is in holding because there isnt enough room to display.

We spent my birthday night climbing stairs up to Monmontre where Van Gogh and other artists use to live. It was so cool to see the artists up there now. I actually bought a painting of Paris from one of them.

Sacré-Coeur (Sacred Heart Basilica) is also up there and it was beautiful to see at night.

Our last day came pretty fast and we knew we had to go back to the Eiffle tower. We decided this time to take the elevator up.

I couldn't believe how amazing our trip was and this was such a perfect ending to the trip. The beautiful sunset over all of Paris. *Mind you that this sunset is at like 9:30pm* The sun stays out late over there in the spring. That really screwed us up with the time difference then not having the sun go down at a normal time.

Anyway we made it back down to the ground right at 10 and the tower started to twinkle. We ran (and I mean ran) far enough away where we could look and enjoy the lights. They only go off for a short period of time on the hour every hour after sunset.

In other news my 180 day mark till my trip came and went. I called and made a reservation for Kona the night before the cruise but no other reservations. I'm still up in the air if I want to just do the CS.

Oh and the night before the cruise I also decided to see the show La Nouba. I saw it in October and it was fantastic! I will head to the Magic Kingdom during the day then over to Downtown Disney for the show later.

Ok so I'm just so excited I just had to share with you guys.

I work at a retail store and last october ('06) I found a gold bracelet on the floor. I turned it in hoping someone would claim it. Well the store held it for over a year and they gave it to me yesterday saying it was now mine. I told them I didn't need the mens braclet and they suggested that I go somewhere and sell it.

So I took their advice and today I went to a coin store which buys gold. The man weighed it and said it was a nice bracelet (too bad the clasp was broken) and told me the price it would buy it for. I about droped to the floor when he told me $540 dollars! :scared1: I couldn't believe it! I ended up selling it and I'm going to put the money towards Christmas presents for my family.

I just couldn't believe the luck I had! :woohoo:

:woohoo:

Wow! That's fantastic!

What goes around, comes around!

And...right in time for Christmas! :santa:

Wow! That is really lucky, what a great unexpected treat.

It was totally unexpected! I was thinking maybe $50 if that. So when he told me $540 I just about passed out! :rotfl:

Oh my GOSH girl, that is awesome! Good for you, being honest...apparently it paid off, and quite well!!!
I have been reading and keeping up btw, even if I haven't been writing comments. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
What store do you work in anyway? I worked retail for yeeears, and I'm just being nosy. :)

Thanks!!! I guess karma really does come around.

Ohh no problem with the comments. I've been the same way lately. I've been reading your TR and others but just not commenting. I gotta keep up with my comments now. But I've been reading your TR as well so I'm still there :bride: .

My Thanksgiving was great! How was yours? I actually work at TJ Maxx. I've been there for years. I left for a little bit to go to school. I decided to come back and work and travel. Then go back to school in a couple of years. I have a lot of traveling I want to do. :goodvibes

Thanks!!!!

Haha I always wondered why we couldnt delete them.

Thanks for reading Scott! How lucky that you are going to Paris! It's such a beautiful city and I hope to get back there someday. I really wish we had made it to Disneyland Paris but there just wasnt enough hours in the day. Hope you have a great time when you go!!! :goodvibes

Finally made my way over here and just had to join in!
You and Lindsay are such a bad influence on me. I had so much fun with you that I decided to join you again in May. Then I heard there may be a Pirate/Princess party just before I was going to go so I somehow have ended up with an 8 night reservation!
I've made some dining reservations but like you I don't know if I will keep them. So many places to try, so little time.
I'm thinking about getting the annual pass, since I'll be down again in October before my Disney Cruise but trying to figure out if it's worth it is giving me a headache. How much did you use your pass (and how much did you think you were going to use it)?

Thanks for joining in Megan! Can you believe another meet is in the works?! I loved hanging out with you guys too it was such a blast that night. I'm really looking forward to May where we can hang out again!

That will be very exciting if theres another Pirate and Princess Party in May. Doesnt look like any of the nights after the cruise close at 7 so I may be out of luck. I'm so glad Lindsey and I are a "bad influence" on you :lmao: and you are coming again! I had such a blast hanging out with you guys!

About the AP, I got mine in July before the ticket prices went up. They said here on the boards back then that to make the AP worth the money you have to use it at least 11 days. So I don't know if that helps you or not. But I was planning on getting an AP as I was going to WDW in October for our meet and again May 08. But I ended up going on a suprise trip July 07 so I got it then. I think its great having it! For some reason It puts me in a mood where I want to stay more days since I already have park tickets (and I know thats what Disney banks on). When I went in October it was only going to be 5 days but I added another day. Then for my May 08 trip. I decided instead of staying at the Hyatt I'm going to WDW then the cruise and then back to WDW for 6 more days. Disney really has me hook line and sinker\. ;)

Having the AP also gives you lunch discounts in all the dining restraunts in Epcot, discounts on tours and DTD as well as the spas. Yes most of them are only 10% but still thats a litte extra money left in your pocket.

I love having the AP and plan on renewing it in July even though I don't have as many trips planned for next year. It gives me the chance for when I get a $49.00 soutwest fare to take advantage of that because the most expensive part (the tickets) is already taken care of.

Sorry this is so long, I hope it helped you out! Feel free to ask me more questions!

Just got caught up, we had a snow day today (no school :teacher: ) so I did a lot of work, and now I'm relaxing on the dis!

Wow! Honesty really is the best policy! That's great about the bracelet. I'm glad it worked out for you.

I love that you are trying out the tours and the table service restaurants on your own. I'll have to try at least one or two if I get to go again on my own. I'll read all your reviews and decide which ones are best to do. Thanks!

I've given up on trying to get my family and friends to go to WDW with me. They are all busy with work, school, boyfriends/girlfriends. So I figure I will do everything I want to do by myself. Because if I sit around and wait I may never get to do the things I want to do. Sometimes I wish I had a travel companion but now it really doesnt bother me. :goodvibes

I will be taking a notebook with me this trip so I should have a pretty detailed TR with reviews for ya! :thumbsup2

Oh, I'd go on my own in a second, it's just the money that's stopping me right now! :rotfl2: I'm glad you can go as often as you do, it costs too much to fly out of the Maritimes, so I can't go very often. So after today's snow storm is all said and done I'm really looking forward to the tropical weather of the Bahamas and FL! Oh and some exciting news... Rumor is that there will be some Pirates and Princess parties in April and May. May 21st seems to be one of the days. I'm back! :goodvibes DH & I just got back from CA late last night and, of couse, I'm already back on The DIS! ;) I've been busy doing laundry and unpacking. :laundy: I'm trying to get caught up on The DIS before I have to leave my computer for another few days. We had a great trip in Disneyland and I hope I will, atleast, be able to post some photos and videos for everyone. :thumbsup2

I can't believe all the snow you have gotten! I've been hearing all about it on the news. I was freezing out in Disneyland because it was 45 degrees and windy, but I'm glad we don't have to deal with the "real" snow...just the Disney soap kinds. :rotfl:

yea I've been working like crazy the past few weeks. It will all be back to normal on Wed, but with a lot of returns on gifts  We all get the day off tomorrow paid so thats always a plus! So the holidays have come and gone do you believe it?! And now I can officially say I'm going back to WDW and on a DCL THIS year! I'm so excited 126 days (and yes I'm counting!)

Some other news SWA released the flights for May today and I'm all booked! I get to Orlando at 10:00am and my flight home doesnt leave till 9pm on the 23rd so I will have pretty much full days!

I also bought myself a new digital camera! I've been so impressed with the pictures that people take while at WDW and since I'm a photo snob (I take pictures of EVERYTHING) it was about time that I really get a nice camera and learn the different modes. I got myself a nikon and I'm telling you the pictures are fantastic! I'm so excited to really test it out on my WDW trip and have some great pictures. :goodvibes

Hey Cheryl, Just saw this article:

The long anticipated Pixar stage show is about to become a reality on the Disney Wonder. Starting in March "Toy Story - The Musical" will be performed in the Walt Disney Theater.

The show features six new songs and and what is described as some of the most complex costumes ever developed for Disney Cruise Line. Among the characters is a 9 foot Rex the Dinosaur, a 4 foot round Hamm piggybank and you can expect to see Mr. Potato Head's parts fall off at the most inopportune time.

A rear projection screen is used as Buzz and Woody begin their adventure from Andy's Room to Pizza Planet and onto the infamous Sid's house.

Toy Story will join the two other productions "The Golden Mickeys" and DCL's award winning "Disney Dreams." That means that Hercules (which was replaced on the Magic awhile ago) will be ending.

Thanks Lessa! I'm so excited to see this show. I loved what they did in turning Finding Nemo into a musical so this should be fantastic as well!! Can't wait!!!!

I just read and saw pics of the plans for the new "Toy Story" show on the Wonder and I just love the idea! It is such a great story with great character. I saw the "Hercules" show and it was my least favorite. I think it is a needed change and I think it'll be for the best! I hope I'll have the chance to see it!

Yay so I'm 111 days out from my trip and I'm totally in the Disney mood today!

I just got off the phone with Disney reservations and I set up my magical express transfers. I was a little nervous because I'm at the 2 resorts. Well the guy on the phone was so nice and everything is all set! While I had him on the phone I just had to ask if there was a special pin code attached to my name. (since I've heard about a bunch of people getting the 40% off postcards) No luck though, he said the best offer was the AAA price which I already had. Oh well it was worth checking.

Now I'm off to go watch the new planning video that I got in the mail today. Crazy, yes I know. But I just love those videos, especially since its like 10 degrees here. :cold:

Wohooo 111 more days! :hourglass

Hey Cheryl!

I've been away from the DIS a bit, and now I'm all caught up!

Lilo is adorable, you'll have to take pictures of her with your new camera to show us how the pictures turn out! New cameras are so much fun, I bought a new one (mine IS a DSLR though-they are the kind with the lenses you can change, btw) this past summer, and I'm just hoping to be able to take a trip to the World with it. Pictures are fun around home, but they are so much more fun on a trip!

How many more days now?

All caught up!

Lilo is adorable!

Kona is a great restaurant -- so relaxing and good food. If you have any time before P&P, you may want to just walk around the Poly. We try to do this every time we go -- from the shops to the sitting in the lounge with a Lapu Lapu while listening to the waterfalls, to watching the fireworks on the beach -- I love the Poly!!

I can't wait to hear about the Keys tour. I definitely want to do this in the future, just b/c I love all the trivia.

Also wanted to say, it is refreshing to see you enjoying yourself on vacation and traveling with or without friends. I finally did my first 2 solo trips to WDW and had an absolute blast...wondered why I didn't think to do that sooner!

Finally, alas, we leave on the 12th so I won't have the pleasure of the DIS meet...got to find one for earlier in the month!:goodvibes

Ohh I love the Poly too (well from what I've seen of it.) I hope to stay there someday and at least with this trip I will get to see more if it with the dinner at Kona and Ohana.

Oh I love traveling solo. Something about it makes me feel so independent and free. I'm glad you had a blast on your solo trips. As much as I love going with family and friends, I value my solo time too!

Aw I'm so sad you are leaving on the 12th (my actual birthday! :woohoo: ) Hopefully you will find an early May dis meet to attend.

Oh and I have a quick question for you...how did you make those mickey tye dye shirts? You are so crafty in all your projects, I figure I may try to make one of these shirts! :goodvibes

Here is the entire thread that talks about all kinds of tie dye shirts with Mickeys/Stitch/Tink, rhinestones, etc. The crystal method is talked about starting on page 17 - 20. (I did a crystal tie-dye instead of the typical rainbow twist. It was supposed to resemble water or crystal or granite/marble stone, depending on your color choices.)

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1210609

And here are the instructions:
Use 100% cotton shirts only.

Buy dye in some colors that you like. I bought my dyes from Dharma Trading since they had the better dyes (more vibrant colors) and more choices of colors. I bought their basic tie dye kit which included the soda ash and then added 2-3 additional colors.

Draw a Mickey head (or other character) on the shirt using pencil and then do a baste stitch (simple 1/2" up and down) using dental floss. Knot off.

Pull the floss together tightly so the material with in the stitching (ie, the Mickey head) pokes up, dye the Mickey Head (dip in liquid dye or squeeze dye onto it), and then seal the Mickey head in a ziploc bag with more rubber bands so no dye or water can get in.

Bunch the rest of the shirt in a LOOSE bundle like a pie and tie off with rubber bands. We used about 4 per shirt. Keep the Mickey heads poking up since you don't want to dye these anymore.

Then you soak the shirts with plain water (once again, the ziploc should keep your Mickey head from getting wet if it's tied tighly enough) while they are wrapped up in their rubber band bundle.

Once wet, then you squeeze the excess water out but they still need to be wet.

Put the shirt in a bucket and then sprinkle the DRY dye on top (use 2-3 colors) then put the wet soda ash on top, just enough to make the dye wet. Then you can either add more colors and put some more soda ash on (just to make wet, not a lot at all). Then you flip over and do the other side. Once done, put in plastic bag and wait 24 hours. The instructions I saw said you can use 5-7 colors

We used turquoise, baby blue, lilac and peacock blue...plus fushia red for the Mickey head.

The end result is supposed to look like water (if you do blues) or granite stone (if you do browns/orange/reds) or crystals (multiple colors would work), depending on the colors you use.

I got my dyes from Dharma Trading Company, since they had over 65 colors to choose from...It did take about 7-10 bd to get them.

Definitely post a pic to the thread if/when you do them.

I'm going to make another set for our May trip as soon as the weather is nicer. It is VERY messy!

In other news I talked to B and K and they are in the process of applying for their passports! :woohoo: They have an appt. this week and they are paying for them to be expeditated since I had so many issues with mine last year. Can't believe how fast the time is flying now (or well it seems to be). In less than a month we can start booking excursions and Palo!! :cool1: We havent really talked about that yet but I really want to go parasailing at Castaway Cay. I think that would be a blast and what a great memory! We will have to see, it was hard enough getting B on space mt in July so I don't think she will like the idea of flying in the air behind a boat. :lmao: We will have to try and talk her into it.

Also rumors around the Dis were that the extended P&P party dates were going to be announced this past friday and that never happened. I'm begining to think that they arent going to extend them just have them in August again like they did last year. I was really hoping to go to this party as I heard the fireworks are fantastic and Tink is in the parade! :tink: Also I really want to meet Capt Jack Sparrow. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Disney reads these boards and knows how much people would love to have the party extended.

Other than that nothing else is happening on the Disney front just 101 days and counting!!! :woohoo: :cool1: :dance3:

I was having WDW withdraw this weekend so my brother and I decided to take a ride down to Burlington MA and head to the Rainforest cafe! I really wish I had brought my camera with me. But this RFC is located in the mall and usually fills up fast. We got there at noon and were seated 30 minutes later right next to one of the fish tanks. I just love this restraunt and it is the closest thing I can get to WDW. :rotfl: My brother and I had a great time enjoying our lunch. And what do you know, whats across the way from RFC but the Disney store! :lmao:

Sounds like fun. One of the malls in Virginia Beach had a Rainforest Cafe. I only ate there once though before going to see Rent. Well it turns out there was something on my seat as when we stood up to leave I had some sort of a sauce splotch on my nice skirt. :headache: :lmao:

Hi Cheryl! I'm finally back on The DIS and hopefully things get back to a normal pace. I feel so out of it when I am away from here for too long! :goodvibes I just love the Rainforest Cafe too! We've been going since it opened at DTD and it was the first stop of all of our trips to Florida. We always had our first meal there and began our vacation there. Plus, they always have such cute stuff t buy in the gift shop. :rotfl: I added uodated to our DIS Meet thread. Tell me what you think abotu changing our DIS Meet theme to the Pirate & Princess Party? It looks like it's going to be another DISney Princess meet for us! :woohoo: Hmmmm...t-shirts??

Hey Girl! Missed ya here on the Dis!

I'm thinking about working in a trip to RFC in May. Maybe for lunch when I get back to WDW from the cruise. I don't know yet. I just think thats the cutest place. Isnt there a dinosaur version opening up at DTD soon? I don't know how that one will go over.

The new updated thread looks great, you did an awesome job. I think the name change is a good idea. (I wrote you more on our meet thread)

Oh, is that what it's going to be?
I saw they were building some T-Rex place at DTD, but wasn't sure what it was and it's taking them a year to build it. :confused3

So the 75 day mark till the cruise has come and gone. B and I spent all last night on the phone figuring out what we are going to do. They have decided to do the Atlantis Aquadventure at the Atlantis resort in Nassau. That includes the use of the beach, aquarium, and water park for 5-6 hours. But this costs $155 per person! :scared1: To me it doesn't seem worth the money for the amount of time there. Maybe I'm just being cheap But can you seriously use those facilities long enough to make it worth it?:confused3. Anyway they booked this excursion and since we decided to split up for the day I haven't decided which (if any) excursion I will be doing. Here are my options:

Taken from the DCL site:
Discover Atlantis
Unravel the mystery of Atlantis! Enjoy a 25-30 minute narrated bus tour before arriving at Discover Atlantis, a breathtaking ocean-water aquarium that faithfully attempts to recreate the mythic lost city — and take a peek at the region's tropical marine life with over 50,000 fish representing 150 species.
This one is only $39 and it seems pretty neat. It goes over to Atlantis and you can explore the aquarium. I'm just so nervous that I'm going to lose track of time and miss the ship. :headache:

Or my other option is...

Take a laid back day and take in the sights and sounds of the island by myself. Maybe hit the straw market and some shops, get my hair braided on board and lounge by the pool.

I can't decide which I want to do. I think the biggest thing like I said is being afraid that I'm going to miss the ship. Also I don't know if you can go back to the ship when ever you want to or if there is a set time if I did the first option.

Now for our next day at Castaway cay:
We booked tubes for the day and banana boat rides. We are planning to have a beach day and take in the tranquil waters. We may be doing some snorkeling. :woohoo:

I was hoping to book a Palo brunch to suprise them but I found out there isnt brunch on the 3 night. :guilty: I don't want to book a dinner because I want to be able to experience all 3 restraunts on board. So that was kind of a bust.

We can't believe how fast the time is flying and pretty soon we will be on board heading to the bahamas! :cool1:

Also on Post cruise news. Our Dis planning is going well. Our meets are the 21st and 22nd and its turning into another DISney Princess meet with the P&P P on the 21st after our dinner at O'hana. Also we are going to be getting a b-day cake on one of the nights to celebrate Lindsey and my B-days! :woohoo:

So thats all the news for now. In 72 short days I will be enjoying a nice dinner at Kona Cafe and heading over to DTD for Cirque.

That is a tough decision on the excursions. I have only one tip for you guys re:Atlantis.

You are right, the one day aqua-adventure pass is really expensive. What many people do is actually book a room at the hotel itself or it's partner hotel (Can't remember what it is but I am sure someone on the cruise boards would know) Anyways the price of the room for the day often comes out much cheaper than the excursion would and everybody on the room reservation would get full access to the resort. So you three could split the cost of the room and then go your seperate ways or spend the day together. You would just have to find your own way to and from the ship. (Taxi/water boat). Anyways just something I though you might be interested in.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money or none of the excursions appeal to you another option would be to stay on the ship. Most people would have gotten off so you would have the place to yourself. I hear they also offer discounted spa packages on port days.

Thanks Lessa! K really has his heart set on this one I guess. He really doesn't want to listen to any other ideas...thats just him and his stobborn ways. Thats fine with me. I'm leaning toward a more care free day with some lounging around and shopping anyway. Since my WDW portion of the trip is planned to a T these couple cruise days are going to be a nice relaxing break.

I've heard about that too where the boat is a lot quieter at port with the less people. I'm actually kind of looking forward to exploring the ship and taking pictures by myself for the day. But shhhh dont tell B and K that :lmao:. We will be meeting up at dinner again and spending the night hanging out together.

Hey girl! DH & I skipped Atlantis on our day in Nassau. It seemed like too much work, money, and stress for us. It ended up being a sweltering hot day outside and we could take the heat just long enough to do a quick walk into Nassau, then we rushed back to the Wonder. It's actually a perfect day to spend on the ship and we chose to eat lunch at one of the restaurants. It was great! Just an idea! ;)

Thats what I'm begining to think about the day trip to the resort. As much as I would love to see it, I also think it's going to give me a lot of stress. So as of right now I'm going to get off first thing and do some shopping around the port then head back on board to explore, get my hair braided (yes I'm so looking forward to this :rotfl:) and grab lunch. I'm thinking that will be a more relaxing stress free option.

Well, I've already decided it's Pop Century again (I just love that hotel), even though I want to stay at all other hotels too, on solo trips, it's totally the hotel for me. I also have at least the pedicure planned, if not a manicure too- I've never had either of them done before, so the GF for my first I think is great. I only did counter service my last solo trip, but I think I'll try 50's Prime Time Cafe this time, unless I happen to find a Dismeet somewhere else that I would be interested in joining. I want to travel around some of the hotels, seeing as this will be during December, if I go, and then get to DTD for the World of Disney Store and maybe do the Adventure's Club too.

Wow, that's not bad for planning for an (at this point at least) IMAGINARY trip! :rotfl:

 :woohoo: :cool1: 39 days! I can't believe it! :woohoo: :cool1:

The time is really flying by now. Just over a month and I will be on my way! I keep checking my mail box for my magical express booklet. Something about getting that just makes everything seem so close. I've always gotten it pretty early in the past so I'm hoping it will come early again. And I've actually started packing!!! :rotfl: :lmao: I know, I'm totally crazy. But when I think of something I have to put it in my suitcase or else I will most likely end up forgetting it.

Oh some other exciting news we finally have our final designs for the shirts we will be wearing for the Dis meet P&P party.

Arent they cute!?! I know I showed you guys the "What happens.." one but the pirate one was new. A couple of us that are going to the meet tried to order them through Zazzle and cafepress (those tee shirt making sites) but the images were either too small or blurry. I think were all just going to end up making our own with the iron on transfers. Then they will at least be big enough to see on the shirts.

I wish I had more exciting news to share...till then...39 days!!!:cheer2:

I hope you get your Magical Express stuff soon! We got ours yesterday and it does make the trip seem that much closer. I'm really jealous that you get to go on a cruise...hopefully some day I can go on one.

Your shirts for the P&PP are super cute! My sister and I were talking about the P&PP yesterday and she was saying how she wants to dress up or something...I suggested we make t-shirts. hehe Who knows if we'll do anything though. Can't wait to hear all about your trip and the DIS meet with the girls! :)

To be honest I don't know. I'm assuming they came from the DISigns board. Lindsey found the "What happens..." ones and another girl Megan found the Pirate ones.

I haven't gotten the mail yet so I'm still crossing my fingers that the ME stuff came!

I never thought in a million years I would be going on a cruise (no less a Disney cruise). Hopefully you will get to go on one soon!

I'm really looking forward to the P&P party. I think tee shirts are the easiest way to get in the spirit. Hopefully you and your sister will come up with a cute design!

The pirate/princess design did come from the DISigns board. I believe that Amy (M_I_C_K_E_Y) did them.

I can't believe we are a little over a month away. I have to sign up for ME still! Guess I better get on that right now!

I've been Dis'ing all morning and watching the travel channel (there showing a ton of Disney shows). I can't tell you how excited I am. :rotfl:

We are going to have such a blast at the meets! Just cross your fingers for no rain. We had tons of rain last year at MNSSHP and it kind of screwed up our meet and plans a bit.

It really does feel like we have been planning forever. It is all worth it in the end though!

I know. Ugh it was pretty bad. That was the only night of my whole trip where it was crazy rain like that. If we ever have another meet in the fall we will have to plan something like this year where theres one inside and another night outside.

Lets see, lets see...37 days and counting!! :woohoo:

My Disney visa rewards points card came today! :cool1: Like free money to shop at Disney with. You can't beat that. Oh and I was also doing a little online shopping yesterday. I ended up buying some cute tops and some shorts for the cruise from Old Navy! As soon as they come I will take pictures so you can see. I'm crossing my fingers they all fit. I've never had a problem with Old Navy's sizing so hopefully they will all work out.

In other news I put in for my vacation at work today! I was just going to take Wed the 14th to Sunday the 25 (I have weekends off anyway). Then I started thinking about it Mon the 12th is my b-day (so thats a paid day off) then it would be kind of dumb to just go back and work for one day so I ended up taking that off too. :rotfl: Nothing better than 2 weeks vacation!

It's so cute at work there is a woman in her mid 60's and she is going on a cruise May 3-10 (so right before me) and we are always talking about our vacations. We compare plans (even though theres nothing to really compare hers is a 8 day, Mexican, in a suite). But we have fun talking about it everyday. Every morning she says how many days she has left and I'm quick to reply how many I have left. Haha can you tell I really am excited!?

Anyway I just wanted to check in and say hi!! As it's getting closer and things are falling into place you will be seeing a lot of updates from me! :goodvibes

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

Love the Disney rewards, I always call it "free Disney money", and DH quickly corrects me that it's not actually free, but sure does feel like it!!!

I saw the comments above, I cannot WAIT for Friday night to see the new Samantha Brown show. I watched the ones this weekend like 3 times, its ridiculous. I need my fix!!!

Hey girl, long time no see!!! :upsidedow The way I see it for the rewards money is that if I'm going to buy something anyway why not put it on my DV and get the rewards. As long as you pay the card off it really is like free money. :rotfl:

I know, I couldn't believe when I saw that it was the "season of Disney"!!! What perfect timing. It's like the travel channel knew I was going on this vacation and had these shows to get me even more pumped. :lmao: I think a good portion of the Dis members will be watching the travel channel a lot in the next few weeks.

I'm glad you are excited to read my TR, I'm excited to write it! Thanks for sticking with me.

Hahaha I think I would be the same way. There is just something about Disney. When I had to cancel my trip last May (I was going to celebrate my b-day of course lol) it crushed me. Even though I was going to Paris, somewhere I only had dreamed about it still crushed me to call Disney reservations and cancel. Call me crazy . But now I wouldn't trade my trip to Paris for anything in the world.

Haha am I packed yet?! Since you have read my last trippies you know I pack early! This trip is no different. I'm not completely packed but I've already filled one suitcase. :scared1: And thats not even the important stuff like bath stuff, shoes, clothes I still need between now and then. Ugh can you believe it?! So it looks like I will be traveling with 2 suitcases. Which is good because Southwest still lets travelers fly with 2. Just stopping by to say hi Cheryl!!! Looks like you are well on your way to your big trip, I enjoyed reading and catching up, it was great!! I can't wait to hear all about your cruise and DIS meet, I am so going to miss being with all of you.:goodvibes I will be there in spirit though.

That is great you are starting to pack, you sound like me, I can't bring the suitcas down but I like to lay stuff out early, that way it is kind of in one place and hopefully that way you don't forget anything, but I always do, at least one thing.:rotfl:

Lindsey, had to LOL about packing light, I never do either, I don't think I would have been happy with DH either.:lmao: I have tried and tried to pack light, it doesn't happen. As a matter of fact, when I went last month, I only took one suitcase and I knew it was stupid because coming home I had to pay the over 50lbs pay, I knew I would, bought too much stuff at DL.:rotfl: I don't find so much the clothes and stuff that is hard to pack, it is all the daily stuff that you need to get ready, that is what gets me everytime. We just need so much as women to get ready for a day.:goodvibes

Thanks for stopping by Jen! It's getting close now. Sorry you wont be able to come this time. We will be thinking of you. :goodvibes

That stinks you had to pay the over weight fee for coming back from Cali. But at least you know for next time, bring the extra suitcase.

One month till my birthday and 32 days till WDW and DCL! :cool1: :woohoo:

So remember when I said I never had any sizing issues with Old Navy well of course this is the one time I do. I ordered some shorts and they are wayyyyyyy too big. I need to send them back and I'm hoping I will get the smaller size before I leave.

But the 2 shirts I ordered fit perfectly...
