54 days today for us. Seems like it took forever to get into the double digits, but then the days went by fast. We have a board in our kitchen with the countdown, we've been so busy lately that sometimes we end up forgetting to change the days left.

My boys have soccer games twice a week all this month and October. So I think the days are going to go by fast. It seems like the busier we are the quicker the days go. Plus they are looking forward to Halloween too. Then I have a week after Halloween to pack. It really takes me about a week to pack.

Yeah, with Zach and Blake playing football and Becca cheering, we are super busy but thats okay because it makes time pass quicker. Zach practices everyday after school for a 2 1/2 to 3 hours (except Wednesdays its usually just 1 1/2-2 hours) and he has games Monday evenings. Blake practices Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-7:30 and Becca only practices Tuesday nights from 6-7.
The games last through most of October so that will keep us busy and our minds on something other than Disney.

I was afraid that I was going to have to split my reservation (on the website the code is only good through 11/25) and I was worried about things getting messed up and having to deal with two ressies, but when I called Disney she was able to apply the code and I saved about 25% :yay:

ooohhhhh- good job snagging POFQ!!!! :cheer2: That is a very hard resort to use a code at. I had to change from POFQ to CBR b/c there were no available "code" rooms left. Sniff, sniff. We love POFQ. It's our fave.

Busy with the semester, of course. I teach 3 classes in a row, so I'm talking for 4 1/2 hours straight (and then I have 90 minutes of office hours). My larynx is struggling to adjust!

Of course there's also prep time and marking papers and all, but I prefer the one low number. And besides, apart from throat difficulties, I do enjoy my job a great deal (most days!).

I go through periods of great excitement and other times when I don't really think about it much at all. But I must say that the former are becoming more frequent as well as more intense.....:goodvibes

Oh, and I was so frightened by the dis-news a few days back when I saw a headline announcing the closure of Stormalong Bay for refurbishment. I held my breath and.... thankfully.... January through April. Whew! That would have seriously sucked (I feel bad for those going during those months).....

By the way, everyone going during the first week of November should remember to secure their absentee ballots fairly soon. Unless you're voting for the wrong ticket..... but come on, who's going to do that? ;)

Good Morning everyone!

Thought I would add myself to this thread. I am travelling with my Mum... we arrive on November 15th and depart on November 23rd. We're staying at the AKL in a standard room. This is the first time I have been to Disney where the holiday is just PURE Disney. We are from England so most of our trips have been 2-3 weeks long but we have included lots of other non-Disney activities (Universal, Sea World etc...).

Mum and I are returning just the two of us after a slightly disasterous trip in July this year (with my Dad and my hubby). We had booked 10-nights in a villa and 4-nights at the AKL (Savannah Rooms). Sadly, Mum got badly sun-burned and because of a HUGE blister on her foot, spent the last week of our holiday in a wheelchair. She was in a lot of pain (even in the wheelchair) and going out in the Florida heat made it worse (even through her bandages!). So she didn't get to do hardly any of the Disney things we had planned... we hardly rode any rides, saw any shows and the worst of all, we barely did ANY shopping! (Mum and I ADORE shopping!!!)

I came back having not fulfilled my Disney 'fix' and felt desperate to go again. We joked around a bit about going back in January 2009, but then came another surprise... after miscarrying in June (just before our trip) I was very pleased to find out I am pregnant again! I am 9 weeks tomorrow (Friday) and so would have been far too pregnant to fly in January 2009. I was telling Mum about the (hopefully!) low crowds in November and she was converted. So after a lot of faffing around, we finally booked!!! I will be 17 weeks pregnant at this time and hopefully sporting a bump of some kind (prob. just a mini extension to my already chubby tummy!)

We arrive quite late on 15 November so just going to relax, unpack and grab dinner at the Mara.
16 Nov - we're going to DTD in the morning and then have booked tickets to MVMCP later that day.
17 Nov - Magic Kingdom!
18 Nov - rest day, prob. MORE shopping at DTD and then we have an early ADR at Ohana's
19 Nov - DHS and hopefully Fantasmic (if we can stay awake, we love early nights!)
20 Nov - Epcot and more of WS, we rarely spend anytime in WS so it'll be fun to do for a change!
21 Nov - another rest day, we might try and get a taxi to Mall at Milennia or Sea World (we missed Sea World in July due to Mum's injury!)
22 Nov - Animal Kingdom and dinner at Yak and Yeti.
23 Nov - departure day! we will leave at around 1pm so will pack that morning and rest at the hotel.

I'm trying hard to get an ADR for CRT but, no surprise, not having much luck!

That's all I can think to tell you right now!!!

Katie- awww, hon, I hope everything goes great tomorrow.
As far as moving, my #1 tip is to always pack a box that you can get your hands on immediately- as soon as you get to the new place- inside you'll want to put one set of sheets, towels for both of you- toilet paper-Paper towels, hand soap, and anything else that you think you will need as soon as you arrive. There is nothing more miserable than standing among a trillion boxes, exhausted, wondering where your sheets are at midnight or looking for a towel to dry off with after a full day of lugging boxes.
~ Always unpack the kitchen boxes first- once the Kitchen is done, everything else seems to fall into place
~ Make sure the boxes are labeled with each room and then on it put a slight run down of what's in the box- so it will be like this :
Kitchen-
black platter, coffee pot, silverware

~And finally-Don't be afraid to say "I'll get to those boxes later". Don't be upset if everything isn't unpacked out of all the boxes- for the first year, LOL.
After that, we'll talk.;)

I'm not sure about the free dining. Call AAA and see. I got a pin for free dining but my week was blocked...of course. My AAA agent is awesome. When I called to apply the General public code that was released for November, she not only applied it to my vacation, she applied it to all her clients vacations that fell during that time.

This isn't just another apartment that once a lease is over you can move out or stay... I think i'll feel better once the closing is over and i can just sit in my new house. I'm going to go take some benadryl (because i'm covered in hives) :laughing: and go to sleep i'm going to need the sleep.

ok so today is the day. It is 7 am and usually I am in work by now which makes it more of a reason to take advantage of the time off and sleep in but i cant!! First of all, you can only use one discount, you cannot combine or use any kind of code, pin or any kind of discount with free dining. Darn! It's one or the other, so you have to figure which one will work best for you giving you the best discount and fitting best with the time you can go to wdw. You can call and if they have rooms available for the code or free dining or w.e., they can do the figures for you and see which gives you the best deal. Boy, that sure would be awesome to get to use the gp code I had and the FD, wow! But, yeah, no such luck.

But, yes you can still apply a code to your fessie, even if it is paid in full, they just give you a refund!:thumbsup2 I think the general public code I used was DGL so you can try that to see if there are any rooms left to use with that code.

I had discovered DIS in July and had become addicted. Then we were hit with two storms and I have been MIA since the end of August. So here I am escaping to this magical space when I came upon this thread. Ya'll can count me in on this. I'm can't wait and am counting the days.

Myself, DH, DD20 and DS15 are going to WDW from 11/22 - 11/29 and are staying at CSR with dining plan. We are so excited. We haven't been to Disney in 10 years much less stay on property and at that with the dining plan. Going on one last just us family vacation, no boy friends, girls friends, friends, etc. DH and I even have a date planned. :woohoo:

After Gustav hit we were not sure if we would be able to keep our plans. We still had a little left to pay and and at first it was looking like anywhere from 1-3 weeks for DH to return to work. :eek: Not good for our vacation and wasn't sure what damages we had. I had discovered DIS in July and had become addicted. Then we were hit with two storms and I have been MIA since the end of August. So here I am escaping to this magical space when I came upon this thread. Ya'll can count me in on this. I'm can't wait and am counting the days.

Myself, DH, DD20 and DS15 are going to WDW from 11/22 - 11/29 and are staying at CSR with dining plan. We are so excited. We haven't been to Disney in 10 years much less stay on property and at that with the dining plan. Going on one last just us family vacation, no boy friends, girls friends, friends, etc. DH and I even have a date planned. :woohoo:

After Gustav hit we were not sure if we would be able to keep our plans. We still had a little left to pay and and at first it was looking like anywhere from 1-3 weeks for DH to return to work. :eek: Not good for our vacation and wasn't sure what damages we had. 46 days for us! Whew! DH's November schedule came out last week and boy was I bummed! I had called the scheduler and blocked him off for the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th. Well, when the schedule was posted he's working 12 hours nights on the 6th, ruining our plans to leave around 6AM and hit a park along with our 'Ohana dinner that evening. :( The earliest we could now leave was now around 9AM, cutting our park time to almost nothing and assuring a grumpy sleepy man traveling with four females (we are taking DDs BFF with us). Well he called me Friday evening from the ER and told me that another Dr. agreed to swap with him so now he's working 4P-12A, a lot better for us! :) :) :) :woohoo: :woohoo:

This is our first time on the dining plan too. I'm so happy knowing the food is paid for before we go. I wouldn't worry about the crowds too much. While it is "Jersey Week" we aren't from Jersey but are going the 1st-8th because thats when our kids' fall break is. I think I will just be happy to be away from the Alabama humidity.

I am planning on the kids pin trading some this year so they are probably using a lot of their spending money on those. As far as extra money, DH is going to Vegas with work in October and he had to pre-buy his airplane ticket and will have to pay OOP for his meals so he will be reimbursed for all that a week after returning so that is actually our spending money for Disney World. The tip money for sit down meals and gas money for driving down and back home, as well a a little extra is in savings just waiting on trip time. I am still watching Southwest's Ding airfares just in case an awesome deal comes along, but I doubt it will.

We don't buy souveniers either, and we didn't do the DDP. I budgeted $800 for meals. But I think that isn't going to be enough. Our dd is spending the 1st weekend with us. I just got a ADR for 9:00 p.m. at O'Hana's. There were openings for Friday, Nov. 7th, from 8:30 until closing. I saw the price and it is $28 a person, plus tip, plus if we all want a drink I am probably looking at a $100 if not more.

Pizza and beer at our resort is sounding better and better.

I actually had a dream we were in DW last night. Actually it was this morning because I was dreaming it when my alarm went off. But it was weird because me and my youngest was on Toy Story and he was whining he wasn't hitting anything getting points. I had left my dd (who just turned 11) with our stroller outside the ride because she had just ridden it...Now for the record, we don't use a stroller anymore so that was weird and I would never leave my 11 year old alone at DW. But once we got off the ride, my youngest ds (who is 7) all the sudden was 2 again. SO that explained why we had the stroller...LOL DH was gone to get us all something to drink and I have no idea where my soon to be 13 year old DS was. We must have left him and his teenager's attitude at home ;)

I also need to print off and laminate the small cards I am making with park hours and ADR info for each day. I also should be hearing from AAA soon saying our documents have arrived and I can come pick them up from their office. I also need to go through all the things I've picked up through the months for the kids entertainment bags on the drive down and see what I have.

I can't believe how soon this trip is coming up my ticker says 38 more days! It's crazy! For a house warming gift my aunt got me a mickey throw blanket and a 25$ disney gift card. I have $100 disney dollars that my mom gave me for my birthday and with all the purchases we've been making i used my disney visa and have 60$ in rewards money to use in disney. Once i told DBF that i think he felt alittle better about going on the trip he was getting alittle worried that we were going to go with no money but i think we'll be ok.

DH and i look back fondly to those early days in our yellow (yes- it was Mr Rogers yellow with green shutters-) house. Okay- I will share with all of you how we in the MAYer thread were able to spot one another- perhaps someone with a bit more computer know-how can figure out a way to do it here too.

First off, you all probably know that I'm part of the MAYer thread- we all started talking before our May 2007 trips, and continue talking to this day. One morning as we were chatting away, I put the Snooty symbol in one of my posts, and the rest is History. That became our "symbol" for our group. Someone was able to blow the snooty up to large size and we all printed them out, and hung them from our backpacks, strollers, etc, next to our LGMH's. That way, when we saw a DIS'er, we knew immediately if it was someone from our "group".
One lady I had been talking to online started yelling at me "Hey MAYer!" in the MK, And I thought to myself- she must be insane. Then I remembered the snooty and we started yelling and screaming and hugging. It's very cool to run into people you've been talking to on a daily basis, and never even know who they are.:)

There ya go. The whole MAYer story.

So--- if anyone is willing and able- I'll take the initiative and say this can be our symbol... :faint: Only b/c I think our list is longer than any other month, and we are gonna pass out after dealing with the crowds, LOL!!!!

That's a great idea, Jo! Wish I knew how to do it, but I don't. BUT, that symbol looks easy to just draw, so even if we can't get anyone to do it, we can just draw it (especially since it's black & white.) I think that's a good symbol, too, because that's basically the way I felt waiting for those darn Nov. hours to come out! :faint:

Hello fellow November travellers... :)

I am a stay at home Mom to 5 kidddos. My oldest just went to college a few weeks ago. This was suppose to be our first vaction without her. Her siblings don't know but she is actually going with us but flying back early to get back to college. They are going to be so excited to see her.

This is our 14th. trip to the world. We took our fist trip back in 2000 and said it was our once in a lifetime trip... and maybe we would make it back in 5 to 10 years.. Well that notion did not last long. I came back home and found disboards and the obsession began.

We are staying at SSR this time around. We joined DVC in 2005 and love being able to go to WDW more often.

I hope to see some of you in November! :)

Okay- I will share with all of you how we in the MAYer thread were able to spot one another- perhaps someone with a bit more computer know-how can figure out a way to do it here too.

First off, you all probably know that I'm part of the MAYer thread- we all started talking before our May 2007 trips, and continue talking to this day. One morning as we were chatting away, I put the Snooty symbol in one of my posts, and the rest is History. That became our "symbol" for our group. Someone was able to blow the snooty up to large size and we all printed them out, and hung them from our backpacks, strollers, etc, next to our LGMH's. That way, when we saw a DIS'er, we knew immediately if it was someone from our "group".
One lady I had been talking to online started yelling at me "Hey MAYer!" in the MK, And I thought to myself- she must be insane. Then I remembered the snooty and we started yelling and screaming and hugging. It's very cool to run into people you've been talking to on a daily basis, and never even know who they are.:)

There ya go. The whole MAYer story.

So--- if anyone is willing and able- I'll take the initiative and say this can be our symbol... :faint: Only b/c I think our list is longer than any other month, and we are gonna pass out after dealing with the crowds, LOL!!!!

So... anyone wanna do it? :faint:

Sounds like a great idea Jo. I tried changing the size using Paint Shop pro on the laptop but its all pixelly looking so if someone else hasn't re-sized it, before I get on the desk top later I will try using photshop to change it.

Luckily they are past the "princess mania" stage, now they're in the "can we bring a friend" stage which is pricier, :rotfl:

Hi Robin! Thanks for the warm welcome. This will be our second trip to the World with our kids. We went last year and they had a blast. We went in September so it was pretty darn hot. We are trying November this year in hopes that it will be a little cooler. The girls ask every day if today is the day we leave for Disney. lol

This will probably be our last trip to WDW for a while because my husband just got orders back to San Diego (he is in the Marine Corps). So after this, it will be Disneyland for a few years... not that I am complaining because I loved living in California when we were there 4 years ago.

LOL, right there with ya Katie. But I keep telling myself I can't start officially packing until DH gets home from his trip to Vegas. He will be gone the 5th-9th for conferences. So the next week I can start packing some things. I'll just tell him there is no sense putting the luggage up for a couple weeks just to have to drag it back down from the attic...LOL I think the week he is gone, I will try to start the shirts I want to make (stick figure family, ones that say Disney World of Bust for the ride down, and tie dyed mickey heads).
I'm still debating on the photopass CD. I'm not sure I want to worry with having our pictures taken a lot so I may just skip that. Plus I am particular about my photos (you know, I hate when it looks like there is something growing out of someone's head...:lmao: ) So I think I will just try to get someone to take our photo in front of the castle (hopefully I can get a photo on our way to our breakfast at the castle without people in the background).

What are you guys doing? Are your going to pre buy/or just buy the CD?

Almost?! ;) I have DH's clothes pretty much packed. I have my clothes set aside and since I'm a worrier by nature, I'll be loading suitcases as soon as we're done with DDs wedding this weekend. I already went shopping for the odds and ends that I can pack. Everything bought now I think. :cool1:

And oh yeah, I'd like to introduce myself :) I'm Laila, or Lei, aaaaall the way from Jakarta, Indonesia (in South East Asia). My coworkers and I are attending the IAAPA trade show at the Orange County Convention Centre this Nov, and of course, we'll be doing Disney and Universal too. The company is putting us at the Quality Inn hotel on I-Drive.

This will be my second visit to WDW. First one was last year (a very short one if I may add). Though I'm a total rookie, I learned a lot from DIS Board and the ever so helpful guidebooks :)

cinderella's table in the AM on 11/23 - almost the same time as another Diser who is going to be there a few minutes after us...and who we are going on the fireworks cruise out of Polynesian the same night! (unbeknownst to dh & dd!)

BBB at DTD on 11/25 for surprise Hannah Montana makeover for dd (late birthday gift!) - hope she still likes HM by then! she has been driving me NUTs to buy the wig but I won't let her!

still need to try to get the special menu for Coral Reef for 11/26...then home on Thanksgiving day :sad1: the saddest day of all!

need to rent me a scooter again...it really enhanced the vacation for me. I have heel spurs and other issues, so it made it much easier for me to hang with the family!

WooHoo!!!! WooHoo!!! Since the shuttle has delayed it's November launch yet again we get to stay an extra day at CBR!!! We will now arrive CBR Nov. 12th and check out the 16th. I LOVE being able to add a day! :) hehe

Our plans are now to drive to Savannah on the 11th taking in the AirForce Museum on the 12th...leave there around lunch time to check into CBR hopefully by 5:30pm on the 12th. :)

Hello all!

I'm a newbie & glad to say we'll be at Disney 11/15 - 11/21!! This is our very first family trip to DW and we are through the moon excited! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: DD (9) can hardly contain herself as she's never been before.

We are staying at SOG. I'm still trying to plan everything because we had no idea the planning involved in going to DW :eek: We REALLY thought you just winged it -- show up and have fun :lmao:

Thanks Jo! I'm doing my best to recover. my girlfriend and I drove and walked along the Mohawk today, and tomorrow I'm going to go to campus to swim or possibly take a bike ride. On top of prepping class for Tuesday, of course. But it shouldn't be too bad.... I'm actually looking forward to getting back to work, because it does have the effect of making me feel normal! It's very strange right now, though, as I'm in that process of re-learning what my body signals are. For instance, this morning I was hungry, but the empty stomach felt a lot like a gastric concern. And as I didn't get enough sleep last night, I've been tired today, which at times has masqueraded as dizziness and sick fatigue. It's remarkable how being very sick can mess with so many of your basic senses.

As to the tick, no, can you believe it, it's something else! I thought Lyme when I began presenting symptoms, but in fact it appears not to be that. I won't go into the specifics of what is wrong with me... it's enough to say that it's serious but not life-threatening and with medication and other lifestyle adjustments it should be under control in a few weeks. What a month, huh? :confused3

it is 5:22am and i'm sitting here dreading getting in the car and going to work after the wonderful week off i had. Thanks Jo! I'm doing my best to recover. my girlfriend and I drove and walked along the Mohawk today, and tomorrow I'm going to go to campus to swim or possibly take a bike ride. On top of prepping class for Tuesday, of course. But it shouldn't be too bad.... I'm actually looking forward to getting back to work, because it does have the effect of making me feel normal! It's very strange right now, though, as I'm in that process of re-learning what my body signals are. For instance, this morning I was hungry, but the empty stomach felt a lot like a gastric concern. And as I didn't get enough sleep last night, I've been tired today, which at times has masqueraded as dizziness and sick fatigue. It's remarkable how being very sick can mess with so many of your basic senses.

As to the tick, no, can you believe it, it's something else! I thought Lyme when I began presenting symptoms, but in fact it appears not to be that. I won't go into the specifics of what is wrong with me... it's enough to say that it's serious but not life-threatening and with medication and other lifestyle adjustments it should be under control in a few weeks. What a month, huh? :confused3

Well I'm sorry that you are having to deal with all this. It has been one tough month for you. And what ever it is that's wrong, I hope you can get it under control and feel somewhat normal soon.

it is 5:22am and i'm sitting here dreading getting in the car and going to work after the wonderful week off i had. I dont want to leave the house!!!!:sad1: I'm also alittle worried because it is the first time DDog Duke is going to be left alone for more than a quick run to Lowes in the new house. On a similar note, my 7 year old Ds got up crying saying he didn't want to go to school because he hated having to go. Poor thing did this when he started Kindergarten too. I'm sure its partly because he is overtired from the past couple weeks, but hopefully this week will slow down and he can get some rest this week.

Well, we are taking a direct flight. They say it takes about 2 1/2 hours to get there. We will be using ME transportation, so I am thinking we will be at ASMo around 6:30pm or so, barring any delays.

That is soooo true. I can't believe time actually passed. Of course I have the vacation count down tickers and i see it every day. Last week, i was just too busy with my Pathfinder unit (Girl Guides) that I didn't log in. Imagine my surprise to see 4 days gone!
