I wonder why recently the boards get faster as the day progresses but seem so slow in the morning?

YES! It's driving me crazy today too! Maybe it's only us Minnesotans having a problem!

Your Wisconsin neighbor is also having a problem. *sigh*

Others have noticed this as well.

Working well for me too.
Let's see what the response is like around 10AM.
I hope the issue, whatever it was, is resolved.
edit: 8:05 CDT and it's slow again.
Is there a backup or some process that runs in the morning?
And what times are the heaviest usage times?

I thought it was my computer! I have made space, erased emails, did all I knew to do to make my computer more responsive. Thanks for the heads up!

I wonder if it has to do with the software which truncates people's signatures. Everyone's signature needs to be processed before it is displayed and probably on every single thread.

That would make sense if the traffic levels were very high when response times are slow.
Not knowing the traffic patterns here I can't say what times of day are busier than others, but there are times when I would bet the traffic is light (like right now) and I still experience delays.
Other times, when I would assume heavier traffic, around lunch time, it responds quickly.
