Ways of earning points/miles towards Fights/holidays

I've just seen in another thread that you can use Tesco Clubcard vouchers to get money off Virgin Holidays to Orlando. I've also recently got the Virgin Atlantic american express card which allows you to accumulate miles which you can use to get flights. Are ther any other ways of accumulating points/miles towards holidays/flights etc for any f the Disney parks.??

We use Airmiles as they are quite flexible. We use our Tesco Clubcard vouchers to buy miles, Shell card for miles and you can get an airmiles credit card. In the last 4 months we've saved enough for a free car rental in Orlando for 2 weeks so that's quite good! You can also use the airmiles for paying for Disney/Universal/Orlando hotels (either all airmiles or a combination of money and airmiles).

We used to have the Virgin Atlantic Credit card but soon got rid of it. American Express just wasnt accepted in many places near me and i just wasnt getting any value out of it. With a combination of several flights, and credit card use we finally had enough for free flights this year (40,000 miles plus £140 each taxes).

Im a fan of the clubcard scheme, there are so many more options, airmiles, vouchers for virgin holidays etc.

Ive just used all my clubcard vouchers to pay for mine and DH's MOT and services. I usually get around 8000 points a quarter and get a £80 voucher from tescos - this is worth £320 in deals towards a holiday etc.

I use the Texaco WE.O.U card when buying petrol. When you have 1000 points you can convert them to Virgin Miles :)

I have just started with the clubpoints, 4 weeks and counting. My Mum is also collecting for us and we have started home delivery, we have got approx 5,000 in the last 4 weeks. How do you buy virgin air miles? and how long do they last once you have bought them?
And does anybody know of a good site for extra clubcard points? Please PM me with the web address, we dont go to WDW until August 2009 so got a lot of time to save them points.

Miles do expire if you don't add any to your account, so even earning a few miles here and there will keep you miles active.
You can earn miles by flying with Virgin or one of it's partner airlines or earn miles through the various other partner schemes - like the Virgin credit cards and WE.O.U etc.
You can also buy miles - 1000 miles is £30 (see website for details).

Another points scheme with Disney rewards is Hilton HHonors.

A 4 day MYW Premium pass will set you back 125,000 points. The Universal rewards are a little more reasonable, with a 2 park unlimited pass at 50,000 points. You can also exchange for VIP tours at Universal - 60,000 points during peak times and 50,000 for non-peak.

Pretty reasonable considering a night at a cat 6 hotel is 40,000 points.

I have HHonors points coming out of my ears... :thumbsup2

Try and sign up as many friends to the Virgin Frequent flying club - you get an extra 1,000 miles when they take an economy trip to US.

Tesco's all the way. I use every voucher they print out at the till at various times and get at least one free flight (converting them to BA miles) per year. Plus if you take plastic, glass etc to the larger stores, you can recycle these items for extra points. It's amazing how quickly it adds up. Also pay using Tesco credit card or BA Amex card for extra points.

i would recommend virgin wine it is well worth buying

you get your first box at half price and 3000 miles as an introductory offer then 750 miles for each box after that

they have a great no quibble guarantee, if you don't like it you don't pay simple as that and the wine is about the same price i'd pay in the supermarket, we didn't like a particular wine and we'd ordered 3 bottles, with a quick email they refunded the cost of all three bottles and told me to give the two unopened ones away

it ranges from £3-4 per bottle upwards

I use Tesco's and Virgin amex and flying club.

Last year Virgin Amex part of flying club were offereing 2 points for every £1.00 spend until July of this year, so I managed to earn around 30,000 miles this way. I also get miles for each flight I take currently done 2 flights with virgin and I have recommended a few people to flying club, so earnt 1000 miles there for each one. I nearly have enough for 1 free flight or miles plus money.

Saying that for us Tesco's is better. I have just booked OKW for 2 weeks in Ahust with 14 day ulitmate tickets and car (not insurance yet), and I had to pay cash of 570.00. The rest was paid for in deals, some 3400.00, not bad for 18 months dedicated to Tesco's shopping.

Check out paid to shop that was recommended on the post above. I also have around another 2000.00 waiting to be spent from deals. In addition we have had 2 free trips to blackpool pleasure beach would have normaly cost 99.00 each trip and a day out at Magna, plus some free meals. Not bad for Tesco knowing all my spending habits. Don't forget the Tesco credit card.

It really depends on how you like to take your holidays as to which way is best for you. But every little helps!! whichever way you save.
