Darn... as a Disney Dad (and the official planner) I didn't even think about applying. :sad1:

I didn't make the cut either. :sad2: I hope a Canadian somewhere out there (preferably a DISer) gets the chance to represent us on the panel! :cheer2:

It WAS open to dads, just "implied" that it was for moms. I signed up and got my standard rejection letter and I'm a dad. AND in the rejection letter it said thanks to all moms ( and dads )

Just read over on the Passporter boards that two of their members made the next level, both Americans. But I "know" one of them and IMO it's a good call on their part. It would be nice to see a Canadian on the panel.

Rejection letter here too... but I am still hoping a Canadian gets a "position". Would be REALLY nice to see us represented!

Heres an update, over on the family board it has been discovered that there are more than one rejection letter. One letter includes a paragraph that states:
Because of the incredible passion you and so many others have shown for Walt Disney World Resort®, we've been inspired to explore more concepts for programs -- beyond the Moms Panel -- to engage moms and dads like you who want to share their passion for the Parks. We plan to follow up with you in the near future with more details.

Mine had this paragraph. There was also one that did not include this paragraph. As well, some got a extra email asking to be part of a movie survey, (it seems this was open only to US residents though) so CDN's wouldn't have received this email. Others are stating they haven't received any emails. All very interesting. It did say on the original form that you must commit to 6 months so maybe we have a chance for the future, or maybe they will need panelists for a "Canadian forum" or a "DVC forum". Fingers crossed.

I doubt we'll see any Canadians on the panel since none of us Canadians here were accepted. Just like the Disney Visa, Disney Catalogue, high shipping to Canada on Disneyshopping - I'll stop now!

Speaking of Disney VISA, when was at WDW in September of this year, the Disney VISA people said that we should expect it to come to Canada within the next 6 months to a year, who knows though.

Can you please tell me how you heard of this? This sounds so interesting. I would love to know how Disney "put out the call."

:goodvibes Mine has the 'passion' paragraph (;) ) so maybe something will come of it, but I am not holdin my breath :coffee:

I just double checked, and mine had that paragraph as well, but I hadn't even noticed it at first. Just sorta thought it was a "feel good" touch.
