I am currently waitlisted for a 2BR either VWL or BCV for 16 - 19 December (we have a ressie for SSR). We are a military famly, currently stationed overseas. As such, our mail is SLOW getting to us. My question is, WHEN the waitlist comes through (that is my optimism speaking :goodvibes ) will it be reflected on my account section of mydvc.com? Also, how long will they keep us on the waitlist? What would be the last possible date for the waitlist to come through?
TIA for your help!

Very happy to hear that! If the updated reservation information is late getting to me in the mail, at least I can check the website and know which resort to drive to when we arrive!!

your waitlist will be automatically cancelled 7 days before the date. I have a waitlist for 1 day that expires today...oh well. I have a cash reservation so I guess I will be using that. Good luck to you and thank you to your family for protecting our country:flower3:

At 7 days out you can call MS daily to see if a room has become available. You can even check daily after you check-in, if the day you need is after check-in. I have had luck in the past with both of these options. Good luck! Never give up!

There are two points when MS will cancel your waitlist. The first is at 31 days out, the second is at 7 days out. The first one is optional, the second is not. To avoid being taken off the waitlist 31 days out, call MS and tell them you want to stay on the waitlist until 7 days out. At 7 days out, the waitlist goes away and you have to call every day to see if you can get what you want.
I believe the reason you have to request to stay on the waitlist inside 31 days is so that you can avoid having points go into holding if you are waitlisted for a resort that requires fewer points than whatever you have currently booked. In that situation, if the waitlist comes through there will be points left over that will go into the holding account. This probably doesn't apply in your case since you are booked into SSR and waitlisted for resorts that require more points not fewer, unless you are waitlisted for smaller accommodations (for example a 1BR at SSR, waitlisted for a studio at BCV, VWL).
