Wait listed chances?

First time cruiser here, planning a family trip on the Magic, May 18th. I have two reservations on hold. The first is a Cat 5, room 7598. The second is a Cat 9. We are waited listed on both for a cat 6, which is where our friends are staying, and which is the price range we want to be in.

There are four of us. Me , DH, DD (5) , DD (2). Any opinions of our chances of getting the cat 6? I've been wondering if we will get it with the Cat 5 reservation, considering it would be a decrease in price, rather than with the Cat 9 it would be an increase.

I'd go ahead and book the Category 5. You would obviously like to have a verandah. With the Category 5 booking, you know you'll get one. If a 6 opens up and the get the price decrease, great! But what if you only got bumped from a 9 to an 8? You'll still be in a porthole room rather than a verandah room. Spend the money and enjoy your verandah.

(FYI, you won't get bumped up to a 7, because all the Category 7's only accommodate 3 people.)
