it took me by total surprise but it's not like i totally didn't see it coming i'm just kind of upset because homecoming is on saturday and i kind of feel like he couldn't wait to get rid of me

then right after he did it he went up to my friend and said "get me a date to homecoming"

i'm kind of broken right now so sympathy would be so great right now

That's what guys are there for, encouragement. It's good to have friends on your side, I had the same type of thing going when my then girlfriend broke up with me. It's much easier to have a lot of friends to help you through it.

This is what I would've done: I would've gone up to a bunch of my friends and started laughing hysterically. He doesn't sound to bright, but even if he was he probably would've been confused as all heck. And I can't belive he got a friend to dump you for him! He is such a coward.
