Hi,
A friend told me that the Dartford Crossing (part of our route to Gatwick) is best avoided at the moment. Has anyone on the boards had any recent experience?

Mick.

Last time I went through after the crossing going south there was a lot of widening roadworks and it did go on from just after the crossing past A2 to the M20.

Average spped cameras in operation the full way and very slow.

Depends what time of day you go - the roadworks are still there, however if you avoid rush hour which round here is about 8 - 9.30 am, you should be ok :)

<--- Lives 10 minutes from the crossing (essex side)

The roadworks work quite well. The only problem is still Junction 5 (Clackett Lane). I cross the tunnel/Bridge every weekend from South to North and is fine most of the time

Like the other have said it depends on the time of day.

I went down Sunday morning at something like 6:00 and went straight through with hardly any delay. Coming back at 18:00 the same night traffic was very heavy.

Hope this helps

Hi,
Thanks for the info. Looks like I'm in for an early start to avoid the rush hour.!
