Good Morning Team!!! Are we ready for another great week? Can we win another weigh in? I KNOW WE CAN!!!:wizard:

Hope everyone is doing well. I am down 1.6 this week, pretty good. I am hoping to get my new 50 lb clippie in the next week-10 days. Hard to believe I have lost almost 50 lbs!!! But I am glad I have and will continue to work hard on losing the other 50!

Hope everyone has a good day today-my FIL is coming over to paint my family room and I have to go to a continuing ed course this afternoon, so a busy day ahead for me.

Stay Strong, Live well, BE PROUD OF YOURSELF!! You are on the BLUE team!!!

Morning everyone!

Well, only down .4 this week. But, honestly, considering such a big loss last week and my date night with hubby this weekend, I'm happy with it!

I'm off to get the kids up for school and do the dishes I didn't do last night.

Hope everyone has an awesome day!

Hi Blue Team:

Not feeling well lately; definitely fighting off the same thing that had DH so sick last week (and he's still not fully over it!).

As of the weekend I was down a pound, but according to the scale this morning, I'm only down 1/2 a pound. Ah whatever, I'll take it. lol

We're supposed to send our weigh in info to ohMom today right??

Have a great day everyone :grouphug:

Good Morning Blue Team :)

I'm down 1 pound this week. I was kind of upset at first because I saw a lower number on the scale only a few days ago, it's up about 1.4 since Saturday. But I'm over it now because.....LOOK WHAT I HAVE!! A brand new, beautiful 50 pound clippie!! :dance3: I can't believe I've lost 50 pounds so far, only about 30 more to go. I think I can see a dim light at the end of the tunnel

I'm going back to only weighing myself once a week. It makes me feel so much better to do it that way, you would think I would have learned my lesson by now :sad2:

Congratulations to all the other LOSERS this week. :cheer2:

ETA: Seaspray, I hope you're feeling better soon

morning everyone  :surfweb:

ETA: oops! we were all posting at the same time!! LOL

i won't open the WI PMs that i have until we hear (or don't hear?) from her

i am down .3 lbs this week, not much but considering i didn't journal any day the past week i'll take it! and i'm tapering so not doing the big LWs either. maybe my metabolism finally shook up?

went to PT yesterday -- she used an ultrasound machine on my shins, apparently to dilate the blood vessels in that circulation is a consideration in the shin area and if you have shin splints it can be a factor. then she worked it with her thumbs and yow! i felt it. then iced them down. i'm back on Wed and then going to try a TM walk on thursday to see how they behave before the BIG day on Sunday.

i gotta go make myself do some yoga here now....

luckywife --- CONGRATS on the new shiny clippie!!!!!! it looks fantastic on you!!!

I am down 3.2lbs this week:woohoo: 5 more lbs and I hit the goal I set to make it to by vacation.

My use name is pretty simple I am Auntie Michelle to 3 (2 nephews, 1 niece).

I think this may actually be the most fit I have been. In 10th grade I weighed about 35lbs less, but I got there by not eating. Not a healthy lifestyle. In 1992 and 2001 I got to a low of about 5lbs less than I am now, but I still think I am more fit now. I have taken longer to lose the weight this time and been more patient with myself. It all started September 2006 when I joined a gym. From there I aquired a personal trainer and that really has kept me going. On weeks I don't feel like exercising I know I will at least get two workouts done. I still have days when I feel frustrated but I try to see past that and see how far I have come. I was just trying to eat 1500-1700 calories a day, when I started to plateu I joined Weight Watchers. I am down about 66lbs now.

One thing that makes me smile now is all the pictures my best friend and I have been taking. We have done the Disney photopass every few months since January. Now we can look over what we have accomplished this year. You can really see it in our faces. Not just that they are smaller, but there does seem to be a bit more joy. It also makes me smile that we have done it together (she has lost 70lbs so far).

Congratulations to all of the LOSERS!!! And the new clippies look great!! Well, I am up .4 this week! All weekend I was down about a pound and then we ended up having to eat out lunch and dinner yesterday and I figure I had too much sodium. It has also been a small fall break for the kids and my routine has been PRETTY OFF!!! Back to normal tomorrow!

To answer this week's motivational question..... My User name is pretty self-explanitory. I Love all things Disney...(like everybody here!!) and I have twin boys who are 9 going on about 18!!!

The most "Fit" time in my life has to be back in high school when I played girls basketball and was a cheerleader :cheer2: from 9th-12th grade.
We would have Cheerleading practice the last period of school and then immediately have a 2 hour Basketball practice. We ran stairs and "suicides" and countless drills! Our coach was really into getting us into shape..and we were! But you know, I took it for granted because of my age. I think that was the beginning of my weight gain because I pretty much ate what I wanted to and never gained weight. I was after all 18! I did feel proud that I had the energy to do both sports. It felt good to tackle a sport and all of the hard work involved and then see the payoff of increased stamina and skill. We did give up carbonated beverages during our season and at first I thought it was crazy, but I did start to notice that I had more energy and felt better....(I probably need to take that advice now!!)
One thing that makes me smile about that time is how my best friend (who also did both sports) and I would get ready to cheer after the Basketball games. Now...you have to understand this was in the late 80's and the bigger the hair the better! We had to immediately change into our cheerleading uniform after our game because the boys game had just started. So to fix our hair...we held our head under the hand dryer and my best friend hair-sprayed my hair so it stook out like an angel's wing! Wow...I must try to find a picture....I really can't do it justice!
Sorry if this was boring or TMI!!!!
Hope everyone has a great week! Can't wait to hear everyone's story!!

Hi all,

I am sorry to disappoint, but I am up 0.8 pounds. I am refocused and feeling better, so I will be losing for week 7!

My name is MIDamceMom because I spend most of my time carting DD7 to her dance classes. Let it be known that I am not a backstage monster mom though. :lmao:

I was the fittest of my life about 2 years after my DD was born. I was in the 170's and exercised daily. I loved and smiled daily at my beautiful little girl. I felt great. I love looking at those pictures.

Sorry I've been so MIA the last week. Catching up from DD being sick from the shots & going to FL. Now I have a stomache bug - basicaly lost everything I had in me from Sat night on & it won't give up. And, it hasn't helped my weight. Didn't weight last week as I was gone & this week only down .3. But that's typical for me. When I don't eat, I gain.

I'm the only one I know who 3x went in the hospital, had a 7lb + baby & came out weighing almost 10 lbs MORE than before delivery!! WEIRD body!!!

Hopefully this bug will pass soon (no pun intended) & I can get healthy. Beginning to worry about the TOT at MGM in just over a week. 8 miles in 2.5 hours usually wouldn't be a problem, but have NOT trained lately at all!

#1 Tell us about your user name! (see, I said it would be quick, well maybe depending on the story! ) My DS18 was a competitive gymnast for 11 years & this was the gym he went to - gold cup. not exciting. PLEASE think before putting a child in a high level gymnastics program. I've been around it most of my life & much of it's NOT pretty. Now at 18 he's just beginning to tell some of the tales which others confirm.

#2 Tell us about when you were most fit in your life!
a. How old where you/when was it?
b. Was it a special time in your life?
c. How did you feel?
d. How did you take care of yourself? i.e. what did you eat, how did you exercise?
e. Did you do anything special to get to the most fit time in your life?

e. details, details, details, it's all in the details so please tell us if you want to, I would love to hear about this special time in your life!

Ok, another long one. I was a competitive ice & roller skater from age 5 - 15.
Didn't have a normal kids life. Wasn't allowed to learn to swim as it did things to the muscles. Ran every day, took dance, ballet & gymnastics, lifted weights, worked out before & after school, traveled a lot. Every weekend we had to drive at least 3 hours each way to meet up with various coaches I trained with who flew in. At 14+ I just quit - about killed my parents who never truly forgave me for it. Competed gymnastics in MS/HS, ran cross country w/ the boys in HS as the girls didn't have a team (couldn't 'win' as I was unofficial) I have few good memories - the best was probably meeting members of the IOC when they were petitioning to get roller figure skating in the olympics - still haven't. Or when they were cutting a record (yes I'm OLD) for one of my routines and I got to go to NYC & hear them - it was the group that did the music for the Addams Family TV show. It was also kind of fun being the person to test the plates the wheels attached to on roller figure skates - I could break most of them doing jumps - so got lots of free pairs.

Unfortunately, all the jumps took a bad toll on my right ankle(landing ankle). At 15 it would spin in a complete circle - had NO tendons or ligaments not torn(fun to gross people out at parties). I kept going & was on & off crutches for over a year before I had my ankle rebuilt. At the time it was experimental surgery & the night before at 16.5, I was told I might never walk normally again, or at all, they didn't know if it would work. So, for 31 years I've not been able to ski, run, dance, wear heels, etc as if my ankle ever breaks, they can't fix it. They drilled 12 holes thru the bone/joint & took muscle from my calf & tied it all back together. I have screw heads you can see the bumps from under the skin. And, when coaching gymnastics in KS about 7 yrs ago I rolled it on a trampoline & now I very literally have a 'screw loose'. Sometimes it moves around & sticks where it hurts & I have to shake my ankle to get it to a place where I can walk again.

Fun, Fun, Fun!!

1 Tell us about your user name! (see, I said it would be quick, well maybe depending on the story! )

well it's kinda lame, i first found the DIS in 1999 planning our first familiy trip to WDW and my first ever, then after returning i didn't really stay active on the boards. for those who were around then you remember it was just trip planning, not the community, Just for Fun, etc stuff. then in 2003 ( i think i'll have to check my member since date :rolleyes1 ) we decided to plan for another trip, this one a land sea and my parents and brother would join us for the land portion. I told Mom (AlreadyexcitedGramm) about the boards for a friendly place to research etc; but i had to re-register b/c i couldn't remember my username (I thought it was ohmom?) but never would think of remembering my password :teeth: my DH works in networking, big computers, and told me not to use anything remotely like my real name, so I thought, ok i'll be 'ohiomom' and shortened it to ohMom and totally capitialized it incorrectly without paying any attention ::yes::

this one is maybe harder, i was totally NON athletic in school. I think in 2003 when Mom and I joined WISH, got PM buddies and really worked the WW plan I was definately the trimmest ever. Now was I my strongest? probably not, when I feel strong i'm not my trimmest. Powerwalking my first 1/2 marathon with the first WISH team certainly was a huge highlight in my 'athletic days' but looking back i can say i'm more conditioned for the miles 3 years later... but i have a tire around my middle :rotfl2:

it's great to read everyone's stories....keep 'em coming!!

#2 Tell us about when you were most fit in your life!
I was was fit my entire life, until about 10 years ago when I moved to a new state and ate out of boredom and homesickness.

a. How old where you/when was it?
I was fit all of my life, gained a few pounds with each pregnancy but then took that weight off shortly after giving birth.

b. Was it a special time in your life?
c. How did you feel?
d. How did you take care of yourself? i.e. what did you eat, how did you exercise?

Ok, well since I've been UNFIT for only 10 years out of 46, it's easier to just say that I was fit and not overweight at all all of my life, until 10 years ago. LOL Not much else to say about it because back then I had no other point of reference (since I hadn't previously ever been overweight). However, NOW I am looking forward to just being "me" again; not "me" hiding inside a fat suit. Sorry if those words aren't politically correct, but it's how I've felt for the last 10 years; as if what the outside world was seeing really wasn't "me". Of course, it WAS "me". LOL *I* was the one who gained all that weight, but I never felt comfortable with myself for most of the last 10 years, and that, along with health concerns, is what motivated me to finally do something about it :)

Just a quick check in, since BL is soon to start (and I'm watching Ellen while I wait).

I was thinking, "Boy everyone is quiet this week".....and then I realized I hadn't seen, read, or subscribed to this week---I was watching last week's thread. AND I didn't even notice the lock on it. :happytv:

I maintained this week, which I am grateful for, since it was not a good week last week.

Congrats to the losers, the maintainers, and to those who gained and posted anyway. :thumbsup2 We are all winners in my book.

Back later!

#2 Tell us about when you were most fit in your life!
I would say right before I had my DD about 8 1/2 years ago. Now, that she is is almost 8--I guess can't blame it on baby fat...LOL:rolleyes:

I usually just walk---they always say---start moving and watch what you eat and you will be ok....now with watching so much of what my DD has to eat, it sure does help!! All those years of hearing white bread, rice and noodles were bad for you---I finally see why! :rotfl: :rotfl: I am really suprised that I haven't been eating from the stress--but hey, I am not going to question it!popcorn::

Well---hope you all have a great week!! I see everyone is doing really great!! :woohoo:

DH has always called me Becka. I found the DIS in 1999 when planning our belated honeymoon and just used his nickname for me.

#2 Tell us about when you were most fit in your life!

I am not sure I have ever been very fit but I think shortly after I got married I joined WW and went to the gym several times a week. Of course right now I am probably about in the same shape now as I was then which is a good thing considering I am 10 years old now.

disneychrista
10-16-2007, 11:18 PM
I had no change this week. Which is better than a gain but not a loss.

My body goes through periods were it does this. I will go one week with very small losses (like < 1/2 lbs), no loss or small gains. Then the following week will be a larger loss. Then it repeats no loss, large loss, etc. So I am on the small/no loss week. Last week was the large loss. So next week is hopefull.

bad news first - I am up 1.5 lbs - it is over "life" happened on the weekend which I just didn't listen to my innerself and ate..............

my user name is for the time we were all going to WDW as a family and I finally took the weight issue to heart and said I did NOT want to be the fat lady in the pictures. Therefore, I was an alreadyexcitedgrammy about going.

Most fit time for me was getting ready for the WDW half event (walking) but I also had a hip/back problem and maybe the time following the event when that healed and I kept up the vigorus exercise - anyway - it is not today and I would like it to be today!

I know that I am healthier since being a part of WISH - and all the friends here keep me coming back:love:

My screen name: my family calls me Vern-a nickname I acquired in HS that just stuck. RDH is for registered dental hygienist, which is what I do.

My most fit-probably right around when I got married, 10 years ago (tomorrow as a matter of fact) I was still overweight (I was 160) but I looked and felt pretty good. Then little by little the weight came back. Now I am back on the path to good health!!

Just read the challenge info. Hmmm.... Actually kind of a toughy for me, as most of my good days on eating are very "set" as to what I eat.
Well, I'll print that out and see what I can do.

Have a great day blue team!

Oh, I like this challenge. I love trying new recipes, and I need to go grocery shopping today. I must make a list. For my favorite websites, I like the following.
http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/index.html
http://www.cookinglight.com/cooking/
http://www.low-fat-recipes.com/index.htm

Whole foods is cool because you can register and make a recipe box. That way you can just go to your saved recipes and not have to look through the entire site again. I am a firm believer in buying organic.

Cooking light is always good for a different dish. I love the magazine, and they include health and exercise information.

I stumbled onto low-fat-recipes in a websearch. There are some treasures on there, but there are some duds to. I think it is fun to search for recipes.:confused3
Before I even read the challenge, I had lowfat vanilla yogurt with raspberries, blueberries and Kashi Golean Crunch cereal for breakfast. That is my staple breakfast. I get a serving of milk, 2 of fruit, a whole grain, and the cereal is high protein. It keeps me full until lunch.

I need to run. Good luck everyone.

I am just getting used to cooking again....I am sad to say that alot of that hasn't been done around here for some time. We just usually eat a sandwich or a lean cuisine, etc....but I am feeling motivated because I think my poor kids just might turn into a CHICKEN NUGGET real soon!:rotfl:

I have been looking at websites lately for new recipes and I have these good ones:

http://www.foodnetwork.com (http://www.foodnetwork.com)
http://www.3aday.org
http://www.3fatchicks.com

3 fat chicks also lists the WW points which is very helpful for me.

Here's to some great new receipes this week!

becka
10-17-2007, 09:02 AM
My favorite recipe sites are:

www.allrecipes.com
www.cookinglight.com
www.sparkrecipes.com

With my DS's and DH's food allergies I am always looking for new recipes that my whole family can eat. I seem to have had the best luck with the above sites especially allrecipes.com since there are just so many to choose from. I figure I probably look at 500 recipes for every 1 possible to make one I find.

disneychrista
10-17-2007, 10:08 AM
Interesting challange. I will do my best to complete what I can.

I usually just google when I want a reciepe. But the sites I usually go to are :

cooks.com - It usually comes up pretty close to the top of the google search and usually has several versions of the reciepe I am looking for, so I can pick the one that sounds the best.

foodnetwork.com - this is a great resource for finding the reciepes that are on the shows. Its great not having to worry about figuring out just what is in that yummy looking dish.

recipezaar.com - same as cooks.com lots of choice, so you are not stuck with one choice.

becka, WOW, congrats on the 3.5# loss this week! That is fantastic!!!! And that new clippie is sparlkly, shiny, and looks mahvelous!!!:cool2:

AuntieM03, congrats on the 3.2 # loss!!!!! You are doing awesome!!! I loved reading about your "smile" moment. How neet to see your changes in photos! Way to go!

DisneyMomTwins, don't worry about the .4 pound gain, I bet you will have that off before you know it, and more!!! I loved reading your story too! Hey, I was a cheerleader too, that is at least 3 of us on our blue team! That big hair of the 80's!!! I LOVED IT! I loved to make mine look like a lion's mane! :rotfl: And playing 2 sports, that is great.

MIdanceMom, don't worry about the gain, I am sure it is just temporary, you sound very focussed to get it off! Glad to hear you aren't a monster mom!;) I loved and smiled daily at my beautiful little girl. I felt great. I love looking at those pictures. that made me smile!!! A mom's love is one very special thing.

goldcupmom, sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Hopefully you will feel well, very soon. Hey, we will be at MGM on the same day of the TOT run! I'll think happy thoughts for you! sounds like a very fun run! What are some of the tales your DS has told you? I can't even imagine. DD is just starting gymnastics, and I hope maybe she could be on the HS gymnastics team, but we will see. wow, you had a very competitive sports life!!!! Yuck about the ankle. but I had to smile at the "screw loose" statement!;)

NancyK, congrats on the 1# loss!!!! You are doing really well!:yay:

ohMom, your capitalization made me laugh, because I think I have capitalized your name in so many ways, I know I have done OHMom, OhMom, ohmom, and probably others! LOL! Our WISH buddies were such a help! Who was your WISH buddy? Mine was/is Wovenwonder (Jody). That first WISH walk certainly inspired so many to get out of their comfort zones and start doing the walks.:cool1:

SeaSpray, I love your story behind your username!:beach: How awesome to read your story. Fit almost all of your life...and you know what... you will get there again! One nice thing, is that you remember what it was like to be fit, I have been overweight for a long time, and I don't remember what it was like to be fit, and sometimes I think that hurts me because I don't have the motivation sometimes like I should, because I don't have that point of reference.

Debbie, too funny about reading the locked thread!:rolleyes1 congrats on the maintaining, that is still a step in the right direction!

Diva Debi, Hi friend!!!:wave2: Tell me more about your domain/store! Glad to hear that you aren't stress eating. the healthy eating is going to benefit all of you and so glad DD is doing well!!!!

becka, love the nickname! and just think, you are heading toward the fittest and healthiest you! That is inspiring and motivating! I got to tell 'ya, I think the pics of the kids in your siggie are just darling!:goodvibes

disneychrista, here's to hoping next week is a great week for you! And maintaing is great! Keep up the good work and push through those slow weeks, the rewards will be tremendous!

AlreadyexcitedGrammy, hang in there with the gain... I know how you feel! (see below) We'll both be kickin it up and posting some great numbers, I just know it! I love your user name by the way! I think all grammy's should be excited! Getting ready for the 1/2 marathon walk must have been a very special time. And with a back and hip problem too, wow, you were really focused!

VernRDH, as I would work on our biggest loser spreadsheet, I always wondered what the RDH was! Know I know! very cool. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY a day early!!!

OK, time to fess up! I gained 2 pounds this week... I am sooo sorry blue team!:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I lost my focus with so many things on my mind. I have to get it back! But at least I got in my exercise today! I missed it on Mon and Tues and this morning I was determined to get it in!

Ok, now my turn...
#1 Tell us about your user name!

Well, I was reading the DIS as I was planning our trip and finally decided to register. I love sleeping Beauty but so many of those were taken that I was just looking around the front room for inspiration and I spied a card my Best Friend sent me (she is a disney fan too) and she had addressed it to "Princess Vija", so being the princess I am, princess: I went with it! BUT, I had no idea that I had accidently pressed "caps lock" so I accidently registered with it all in caps! :rotfl: Later I read somewhere that it was rude to type in all caps as it designates yelling, I just cringed when I read that, because I felt like a town crier announcing my arrival.... Hear ye, hear ye, PRINCESS VIJA!!!!princess: :lmao:

#2 Tell us about when you were most fit in your life!
a. How old where you/when was it?
b. Was it a special time in your life?
c. How did you feel?
d. How did you take care of yourself? i.e. what did you eat, how did you exercise?
e. Did you do anything special to get to the most fit time in your life?
f. Tell us something that makes you smile when you think about it from that time frame.
e. details, details, details, it's all in the details so please tell us if you want to, I would love to hear about this special time in your life!

Hmmm, I was pretty active in my teens, I was a cheerleader and I did water ballet freshman year in H.S. But the MOST fit I ever was was the summer of '85. I went to a Latvian summer camp... Yes, I did and it was so much FUN!!!! Anyway 6 weeks every summer we went there, it is in Michigan. during the day we had classes (geography, history, literature, etc) and then the afternoons were free for activities, volleyball, swimming, jewelry making, pottery, etc. That summer I decided to take advantage of the 6 weeks and really work out. Wasn't too hard to get started. The lunchroom was 1/2 mile away so evey day we walked 3 miles just to eat! I ate healthy at meal times and in the afternoon I would go for a long run every day. I would join in the aerobics classes and go swimming. in the evening instead of going to the "snack" time I would do calisthenics in our room. I started the summer at 132 and ended camp at 117. I lost 15 pounds and I looked HOT!!! I mean sizzle Hot!!! my boyfriend (who is now DH) certainly liked how I looked when I came home from camp too!;) I felt so very special during that summer. I absolutley loved the way I look, and I don't feel like I was depriving myself of anything. I ate healthy, had snacks on the weekends when mom and dad would come visit us and bring treats! OH, we also had a dance every saturday night. LOVED dancing from 9pm to 12am!!! And I was always on the dance floor... i will say I was a good dancer, and slightly popular so I had LOTS of fun!!!!!:cool1: A couple of things make me smile from that time, I love looking at the pictures of me, because I was very happy during that time and it shows! I also used to go running in JUST MY BIKINI TOP!!! (I just reread this and started LOL... I had shorts on too! :lmao: ) Hard to believe the "girls" were ever so small and pert that just a bikini top would suffice KWIM? Now to run in just a bikini top....aiyaaaa :scared1: ahhhh, sigh.... just to be able to run, let alone a bikini top..... :rolleyes1 Someday I hope! that was probably one of the happiest times in my life. Now, I need to get fit again so I can feel proud and happy about me!:thumbsup2

Morning Blue Team!

Happy Anniversary Vern! So what are you and the hubby doing special to celebrate?

#1 Tell us about your user name

Well my SIL has another SIL named Michele (we spell it the same way too) my nieces call her Aunt Michele and they call me La or La La (we didn't want to confuse them so we came up with a nickname for me). When my oldest neice was little she used to call me La La Roo Roo when she wanted something. And the 78 on the end is the year I was born.

I would say right now is the healthiest time in my life. Sure I have lost weight before but now I have a whole new outlook on losing weight. I have changed my diet and I am eating healthier foods that I have never really eaten before. I exercise 3 to 4 times a week. In the summer I was exercising 7 days a week. It really is not a special time in my life other than I made the decision that I did not want to be fat in my 30's and I finally want to be the thin girl I know lives inside of me! What makes me smile is that I have lost 30 lbs in 3 months! I look better in clothes and I feel great.

Well I am going to try my hardest at this weeks challenge. Good luck to everyone!

Have a great day!

Michele

Okay, maybe I missed it, but who won this weeks WI? Or has it not been posted?:confused3

Michele-DH and I are not really doing anything tonight. DD has McDonalds Night fundraiser for school so DH is taking her there. We got a gift card to Bellini's (a chain Italian restuarant) but don't know when we will get there. My wonderful FIL is painting my LR right now and my house is upside down with everything out of place. He will be finished today, and DH is staying home tomorrow to put things back in the room. Then DD has her TKD tournament on Sat, and we are going to the Chinese Buffet and my brothers house for the evening. WHEW!! So maybe Sunday we can get to eat out. We had pizza and wings last night for DH's b-day, and I am pretty much chalking up my WOE for the next couple days due to all that is going on. I am countering all the eating out with healthier meals but I am not sure how things will turn out at next weeks WI.

Did I mention my MIL is bringing a cake over tomorrow too:eek: ?

Hey everyone, I have to say that I am freakin' out right now! 5 days until our trip, and I have soooo much to do! Originally we were going to host our neighborhood party in November, but we were asked to do it this month and it is tomorrow night. I have so much cleaning to do it is crazy. I have to cancel some ADR's, get to the bank, finalize our touring plans, laundry, pack, I have to go to the doctors office today to get refitted for my shoe inserts (orthotics) and DS reminded us he has a concert tonight that we forgot about, DD has 2 classes of TaeKwonDo tonight, and a demonstration speech tomorrow that we have to pack up all the stuff for, I have to do shopping for the food item I am making tomorrow night, and my Dsis is probably having a Csection today so somehow I have to squeeze in trying to see her and the baby, remember I work 12 hour shifts on the weekends, so I won't get anything done there (that includes 1 hour drive time each way)... AgHHHHHHH! I need time and energy and a genie to help me out!!!!!

Hello Blue Team Losers!!! I’m down 1.5 pounds this week. It’s going way slower than I would like, but at least it’s going…..  Next week I won’t be able to send my weight in as I’ll be out of town. My plans include a lot of walking and exercising, and not a lot of eating, so hopefully that will mean good things for the next weigh-in!!

Anyway Princess Vija was asking about our usernames. Here’s my story (and I’m sticking to it).

My dad taught me to fish the minute I could hold the pole, and I instantly fell in love with my favorite pastime. I begged him to take me every spare moment we had, and when I was finally able to travel the roads myself, I went on my own.
One August evening about 10 years ago, I went out to fish my favorite spot. It didn’t disappoint me, and in short order I had my limit of sunfish. Now typically, even if I fished solo, my dad would be home to help me clean my spoils, but on this particular night he was away on vacation, so I was on my own. I was very capable of cleaning fish, as my dad had taught me this as a young child too, but often he would fillet them and I would skin them, so I wasn’t quite as proficient in the filleting part as he was. I cleaned my fish, and, as there is nothing better than a fish fried straight from the lake, I whipped up a killer sunfish supper. I ate until I was full, and feeling mighty proud of myself, I took my big head into the kitchen to clean up the mess. As I was plating the extra fish for the fridge, my will power gave way and I broke off a tasty morsel – just for one last rendezvous. Only…………. this time, the fish fought back. My unpracticed cleaning skills had missed a bone, and interestingly enough, so did my lips, teeth and tongue. My tonsil on the other hand was all over this one…… lucky me. The bone lodged itself in a downward fashion at the back of my tonsil. I tried all the tricks – bread included, and couldn’t get it to give. Not quite sure what to do, I called the nurse line who told me to go in as my esophagus was in peril. :confused3 I did, and to make a long story short, six days, three doctors and a throat specialist later, the bone was dislodged. My nickname came from my friends at work who lived through the ice cream, pudding and jello diet. I caught him myself, I cleaned him myself and I cooked him myself….. somehow, he still won. :sad2:

What do you do?

Hey everybody - I thought to check in this morning and read all of the great stories. I don't have enough time to write my skinniest - I Have to think - but I can tell about my username

I Loved HR PUFFNSTUFF as a child. We used the phrase Witchie-poo a lot and so subsequently things because -poo's in my mind. We had a boatie-poo (family boat) Dano-poo (my sister Danielle) Matty-poo (brother Matt) etc.... So when hotmail came out years ago - I wanted to be clever and not just put my name. So was born HRPUFNSASH. I deleted an F because I didn't want people to think it was a smoking or pot reference. Now it kind of sucks because when you spell it out - people always get it wrong. But I still love it and the mayor HR.

Can I make a request? Can we post a note at the end of each weeks thread mentioning that the new one is starting and a link maybe? I missed out again this week because I only check my emails. I did lose - so I will save it for next week and yes, I am sporting a brand new 10 pound clippie. For those of you with new clippes CONGRATS

:worship: and those of you just getting or working on your 50lb clippies - you are my HEROES!!

Has anyone tried some new whole grain products yet? I bought some of that Kashi Go Lean cereal and was surprised at how good it was this morning. I also bought some whole grain crackers and enjoyed them too! Now I don't think I'll be eating the whole box in one sitting but I'll definitely buy them again. I managed to eat some chick peas yesterday and I bought some lentils and lima beans. DH bought a yummy looking carrot cake yesterday and so far I have resisted. So, all in all, a pretty good start to the week. Tomorrow we're having pizza day at work for a co-worker who is leaving. Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy some without overindulging. ;)
I would love to hear about any whole grain products that are tasty. I am not one to try new things, but hey - we have to get those challenge points.

Well, been gone for a couple days. I have a very limited time on the computer during the week, and this week, sorry to say, has been spent at the forums of my other internet addiction, cakecentral. (It's research, I promise!:lmao: )

So as for my user name, well, I was previously registered on here as mrs_p_bear, and DH is mr_p_bear. (my username basically came from his). But I really had wanted something that was more "me". On a car trip, we were talking about all things Disney, next trip, these boards, how I want a tink tattoo. And I made the comment "I'm such a Dis geek. Hey I'm a geekerbell!" DH was :rotfl: (which was bad because he was the one driving), and that was it. We went on to plan how he would alter a tink pic for my avatar, and I changed my username the next day. (I'm also just a geek in general, not just Disney. And I'm proud of it!:goodvibes )

Challenge stuff...
Like a few of you previously, many times when I'm looking for a particular recipe, I just google it and see where it takes me.I typically end up at
allrecipes.com with this and like it because there are usually many variations of what I am looking for.
I also love foodnetwork.com because I watch several food network shows and like to try out what I see.
bhg.com - I get their newsletter, which always has recipes in it that I want to try.
And for cake and cake related desserts the winner is cakecentral.com :teeth:
(Sorry, cake on the brain)
Now, I'm off to get the kiddos up and start my FRIDAY! (Can you tell I'm just a little excited?:rolleyes1 )

good morning -- wow it's friday already! where did our week go! i have loved reading everyone's stories!! i too had some major "Bon Jovi hair" but in HS :teeth:

nancy -- i just recently bought a new cereal that is labled whoe grains that i really like -- it's called Heart Healthy Blend with Fiber One made by General Mills. the only new whole grains i have had was a sammich yesterday at a food court. i'm going to the grocery tomorrow. otherwise, I like mose all Kashi stuff, their crackers are good. i'm not sure if they are labeled whole grain? their crunchy granola bars are and i like them too

on this weeks challenge, so far i have one day of 5 for 5 in; but i forgot to eat berries the first day so i blew that one. i will post some websites later, and definately check out the ones shared already. i love Whole Foods Market but didn't realize their website was so cool. thinking back of yesterday i think i only ate 2 dairy servings!! shoot! had i realized that i would've made diet hot cocoa instead of my hot tea in the evening. poof! i'm sorry guys i have had a very distracting week, but the challenge is printed off and hanging on my frig......i will pay more attention ::yes::

we have a Spanish exchange student here until Nov 3, she arrived this past tuesday. she is a sweetheart; but my point is i'm noticing that she just doesn't eat near as much as we do. we were forewarned that especially the girls, don't eat as much...and i'm not worried about her she's eating. but for example, my DD took her out to dinner and said she was surprised at how much food my DD got which to us was just a regular dinner. for lunch the past two days we have needed to pack her a lunch and all she will take is a sandwich, nothing else and believe me I offered ;) i know part of it is the whole 'weird American' food probably, this is why i'm taking her to the grocery tomorrow too

i gotta go........

Hi everyone - I'm back! Sorry I've been gone so long, we had major "things" and I was out and couldn't get online, then this week, well where has the week gone? I promise to be a contributor again!

Just a neat little side note about how this challenge grows and spreads...I had a pm today from someone who saw my sig on another thread somewhere and he wants in, he's been following the show and has lost 49 pounds - how awesome is that?

I haven't been sleeping well and need to exercise, that will take away the stress and help me sleep better RIGHT??!!

Okay, now I've loved reading about everyone, my turn:

#1Tell us about your user name! not too much to tell, Jennifer Z is my name
#2 Tell us about when you were most fit in your life!
a. How old where you/when was it? 26
b. Was it a special time in your life?Yes, I was getting married
c. How did you feel?FAT at 140 #s which is now lower than my goal weight!
d. How did you take care of yourself? i.e. what did you eat, how did you exercise?I pretty much just ate less, and we had a gym where I worked and a personal trainer and aerobics, etc at no cost
e. Did you do anything special to get to the most fit time in your life?Yes, I used NutriSystem (the thing that shocked me was how small the portions are and that's all we need to live!) and exercised
f. Tell us something that makes you smile when you think about it from that time frame. Wow, lots makes me smile since I was getting married. I remember shopping for a new suit for work (in my previous life, now since dd nad becoming a SAHM I don't even think I own one! :rotfl2: ) and it was trendy and cut at the hips and I thought it made my rear look big so I asked the sales clerk and she said something along the lines of, "well yer the way it's cut calls attention to your hips but you sure don't have to worry about that!"
e. details, details, details, it's all in the details so please tell us if you want to, I would love to hear about this special time in your life! Hmmm, my details are a little odd, after we got married in May, in November I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, had a few surgeries, a big radiation, medication problems w/thyroid and calcium, and I lost my focus...:sad2: BUT enough of that, it was years and years ago and I will be glad to tell you my details of being fit again as those days are drawing closer daily! :thumbsup2

I second the request for the new thread to have a link in the prior week's thread!

OhMom - love the story about your exchange student! What a different perspective.

Here are some whole grain products I love: Kashi Nut Clusters, FiberOne chocolate and oats (YUM! and only 2 WW points), AllBran Cin. Squares, very tasty, DD, 9, even eats them for a snack

I just love reading everyone's stories. Geekerbell, your avatar pic is too funny! I love the glasses on Tink! I am so stressed with everything I have to do that I am finding myself reverting back to my old "weighs". I am looking forward to our trip, but I also know that when we get back I will have to get into a routine and not falter for anything.

And guess what? I am officially an auntie! I believe a Godmother as well! He was born yesterday. She had a c-section because the pitocin wasn't working and baby's hearrate was dropping. He apparently is doing fine, breathing on his own and will probably go home with them in a few days.

I am so obsessed with planning for our trip. I have to get off the DISboards, and just pack, clean and do everything, but I keep looking for that one last hint and info that will help our trip. Am I crazy??? :dance3: Feel like it!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello, Everyone! Just popping in to say that I have been doing okay on the challenge. Dairy, fruits and veggies are never a problem for me. No berries, though. :( So far, I've had beans, and chickpeas. I tried a new whole grain vegetable cracker today. I'm not fussy on vegetable crackers. I like my veggies raw! I eat whole grain cereals every day. I've tried the Kashi, but not for a long time.

Sorry, I was MIA. I did not get home until 10pm every night this week, plus I had morning events and things so I have been very busy.

I was down 1 pound for the week.

My screen name is a combination of the first two letters of my first, middle and last name. Rebecca Ann Sta= ReAnSt I've been using it since high school for various online things.

As for when I was/am most fit it would probably be right now at the age of 25 I have been overweight since I was about 3 years old. I remember in 2nd grade being asked if I was pregnant by another student.:upsidedow

Since January of 2006, I have lost almost 70 pounds. I kind of been stuck in the same 10 pounds for a long time. I weigh less now then in 9th grade. I cut out soda, chips, cookies, brownies, cakes, etc in the large amounts I was eating them. Plus I started walking, riding bike, doing yoga, pilates and other things to get active. I drink tons of water and less other drinks.

The thing that makes me smile is fitting into a size 12 dress on my Disney cruise. I never wore that size before. I basically went straight from kids plus sizes to women's sizes like a 16-18.

In high school and college I was in Marching band and let's just say I would have had a much easier time at this weight then what I weighed then.

As for websites I like Foodfit.com (http://www.foodfit.com/) it has lots of healthy recipes. Plus tips on healthy eating and fitness ideas and there is a message board.

I also love Taste of Home (http://www.tasteofhome.com/) it has great meal ideas that are 30 minutes or less and they are all sent in by readers of the magazine and their kitchen tests most of them before they put them on the site.

Now, I need to get fit again so I can feel proud and happy about me!:thumbsup2[/QUOTE]

It is really interesting to learn about everyones screen names!! It is funny how some of them come about.

I do go to different websites for recipes but lately I have been finding books for low carb meals for my DD. It really is a new and amazing way to look at food. I can't go without any carbs and that isn't good for you anyway--so it is working for the whole family.

Hope you all have a good weekend!! I am looking forward to tomorrow--it is supposed to be 74 here---which is crazy--but at least I can get out and walk.

The BLUE TEAM ROCKS!!!!:woohoo:

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. We are having above normal temperatures.:cool1:
It's official - after six meals with legumes, I can officially say that I do not like them. :lmao: I've used several new whole grain products this week, so I think I've overdone it on the fiber a bit. ;)

Terry and Vija - Hope you both have wonderful vacations!

GO BLUE TEAM!

After almost an entire week of not exercising due to my back I think I should be okay to go with my regular exericse. I will probably hold off on the weights for another week, as my back is still not 100% (about 85%).

But the good news is that I did not gain this week, even w/o the exericse. I was actually able to record a .4 loss. Not much but in the right direction.

Well the sites I use to get recipes are:

Simpleanddelicious.com
foodnetwork.com

Plus many others I can't think of right now.

Hope everyone has a great week! Good luck with the WI tomorrow!

Hi Team,

Sorry I haven't been around lately. I have been fighting a cold and my body has just been exhausted. Now today my ear is throbbing. I hope it's not turning into an infection.

The good news is I've been maintaining so we'll see what the scale says tomorrow.

See you tomorrow!

I took a pretty big fall yesterday. I made very bad choices and allowed my emotions to get tied up into food which is the reason I have to lose so much weight in the first place. I can't be exactly sure and I may have overestimated exactly how many calories I ate but when I plugged it all into SP I got almost 5,000 calories! :scared1:  :sad2: The MAX for my day in my calorie range is only 1590.

DH asked me last night if yesterday was just a "splurge" or if I "fell off the wagon". I told him that would not be decided until today. If I kept eating out of control then I fell off the wagon. If I get right back into my eating plan then it becomes a splurge. So far today things are good so it is leaning towards a splurge.

I don't want to let myself get too down because of this but I do know that I have to face it which is why I tried so hard to journal it all in and count every calorie - just for accountabilities sake.

I really am sorry if this causes us to fall in the standings this week. I have not been in BL mode this past week and I am afraid it is going to show on the scale tomorrow.

Vija - I'm so happy for you, Auntie! And have an amazing trip!

ohMom - Wow, congrats on the 1/2! That is a goal for me someday, hopefully someday soon. Do you run it all, or do a walk/jog?

Sabrina - So sorry you aren't feeling well! Hope you get better soon!

Becka - Well, I have definitely been there. It always amazes me when it happens, and I log in everything and come out with that high calorie number, that I actually used to eat like that most days. Scary.
And is it just me or does it bug you too when DH's make those comments? I know when I have an off day and my hubby asks me about, I typically want to choke him. ;)

My weekend was actually pretty on target, that's a first in a while. I have an interim goal weight I want to hit before my boys' birthday party in November, and it is another 11 pound away. I may not hit it, but I sure am going to try!

Have a great Monday everyone, and good luck on WI tomorrow!

 Don't beat yourself up about this Becka. Real life involves falling down and getting back up. I would bet that most of us on this forum know all about emotional eating. I know I do. And we're a team - each of us will have weeks when we contribute positively and other weeks when we don't. If the scale isn't good to you tomorrow, it will be next week.

Becka - put yesterday behind you. Today is a new day. This is a new lifestyle not a diet. And in life we all have good days and bad days. Yesterday was just a bad day.

Good morning Blue Team!

Thought I'd go ahead and report in my weigh in results. I had a 2.4 loss for this week. Quite happy. Now I'm only 1.6 away from a new clippie. Hopefully I'll be there next week. I have to say, that sure does give me a little more to motivate me.:cool1:

Have a super day!

Hi everyone :wave2:

I have no weight loss to report today :( But I didn't gain, either. We had a special family day on Saturday; DH and I took the boys in to Boston to see "Wicked" and then we went out to a big dinner - appetizers, entrees, and desserts! Yeah, I felt pretty "wicked" eating all that, but it was a one-time thing and a special day for us. DH and I will leaving in 2 days to go on a 10-day cruise, so we wanted last Saturday to be a fun family time together before we go.

Anyway...I don't plan on going crazy with eating while I'm on the cruise. So hopefully I won't have a gain, or at least not too big of a gain, to report when we get back.

I hope Vija is having a great time in WDW! :sunny:

I'll try and post one more time before we leave on Thursday. Have a great week everyone! :grouphug:
