Branson and Disney

DH and I were in Branson this weekend for a quick minivacation. DH informed me that he overheard a couple talking to another couple about Disney coming to Branson (and not talking about stores are they're already there). He was also talking to a co-worker today and she mentioned she heard the same thing, that Disney was coming to Branson but they were first going to build a monorail?. So, I'm sure if it were true, someone on here would know! So, I'm asking.... Anyone heard any rumors???? Any truth or just a "wishful thinking" on somebody's part?????

Its a rumor, with no facts to back it.

There were some newspaper articles, and some over-zealous reporters who looked into some land purchases around Branson. They found some paperwork that was traced back to someone in Lake Buena Vista, Fl. They ran with it and said Disney is coming... other than that, there is nothing. If they do, it won't be a theme park, it'll be like the Hawaii venture - a themed hotel.

Thanks for the info. I also found rather quickly a newspaper article from the Branson area that also indicates there is NO TRUTH to the story. I didn't expect there to be anything to it, but a 4+ hour trip versus the 19 hours we're looking at by car would have been nice some day!

I am thinking that the Hawaii thing DVC would be what they are doing. That is where Interval - the Timeshare company they share with has a big HQ - in fact my in laws bought in there. Disney would be smart to put in a DVC there. So many older people vacation there and they would think We will buy here and take the grandkids to Disney... I think it would actually be brilliant.
