Two weeks from today we gather from around the nation, "The Raiders of the Lost YARC", and a few normal people. We gather to make Disney history, we gather to enjoy the first ever Tower of Terror, Twilight Zone, Night race.:cool2:

How awesome is that? Who's excited about doing something that has never, ever been done before? How fitting that so many of the WISH Team will be there to experience what no one has ever experienced before.:dance3:

Who can believe in the Magic? Who is ready to go the distance and bring home the memory? And of course bring home the one of a kind medal.:cool1:

It takes a special kind of courage to face the unknown, even when it's a Disney experience. No one knows the perils of the deep woods that await. No one knows the what can happen when so much magic is loose in the world.:scared1:

Who's Ready? Who's Not Afraid?pirate:

Bill - I think I am with you on the normal thing!! Well at least to me I am normal!! It everyone else that isn't!! :lmao:

I don't know if I am ready for this 13k or not but what can you do - its 12 days away and I have 7 more runs planned (a 5 miler tomorrow, 2 miles Wed, 3 m Thurs, 8 miles  Saturday or Sunday, then I am scheduled for my taper - I guess that is what it is called!! :confused3 3 miles, 2 miles, 2 miles and then rest and then 13k - YIKES!!!) I do feel more confident about the 8 miles after this weekend. I did my 5k on Saturday and then walked 7 miles on the TM last night - toward the end of my 7 miles I did start running and it wasn't bad. I just wanted to get the miles in and I wanted to take it easy so I didn't hurt myself.

Whatever happens at the TOT race is up to the "ghosts" I guess!! Hopefully they won't :scared: us too bad!!! LOL

OMG, Bill, dear friend you are one of the last people I would have pegged for the poster child for normal. Oh now I get it this is a joke right? Good one.

However you did volunteer to work out the arangements with the virgin's union. We still don't have a sacrifice yet, now do we? You had best get cracking. The Boogie is gonna want a sacrifice and I guess it will be the slowest one in the walk if we don't have a virgin to give him.

We could throw one of the Team In Training honnies to the Boogie, but no you and Vic had to have a virgin.

When she was good she was very good but when she was bad she was....

Oops wrong pretty woman.:)

Yes being normal is way over rated and not nearly as much fun.

Did you hear the story of normal 'TnTsParty' going to Starbucks?

She got her coffee and a scratch off. After scratching it off she started screaming, "I won a motor home, I won a motor home". She ran up to the counter and yelled at the clerk, "I won a motor home, where is it I want it?"

The clerk went and got the manager who came over to talk to her, "Lady, you have not won a motor home, that wasn't one of the prizes, the biggest prize is a breakfast". She got an evil look in her eyes and said "Yes, I have won a motor home, your trying to steal my prize".

The manager said, "Let me see your prize ticket". She showed it to him, it said "win-a-bagel"

Yep TnTsParty is normal alright.:rolleyes1

Nice Dave - Thanks for that one!!! I was with you on the Starbucks but then after that I lost you!! But speaking of Starbucks I did end up getting a coupon for a free drink - any drink, any size. It was because they messed up and took my order and gave me the syrup I bought (I usually make my own Starbucks at home - much cheaper!!) then they forgot to relay my order to the barista - so since I had to wait what seemed like forever they gave me the coupon - guess its kinda an oops on their part. Nice to know they take care of thier customers though.

Now on with the normalness!!! LOL

Here in Winter country, TM is the only safe route for me.

Back in the old days of training for ultra's, I did 8 hrs straight on a TM:eek: . Watched 2 football games during my journey

Actually the main reason I like doing longer distances on the TM is that I can watch a whole movie (well soon I am going to be up to 2 movies - or at least 1 1/2 movies) And here when I first started looking for a TM I said I didn't need one with a TV monitor - now I know I NEED that TV - hooked up to a DVD player and I am in TM heaven!! I like the longer distances on the TM because I don't want to quit in the middle of the movie.

But don't get me wrong I did NOT run except the last mile. I walked for the 1st 6 miles. I actually get bored running outside - there goes my theory that I am normal - :rotfl:

All Joking a side, unusual for me, this will be a special event and a special time.

It's not really about a race, it will be the first time that I've ever toed a starting line and not cared in the slightest what my time will be.

It's about making a statement of health and our journey to fitness. It's about being with family and good friends celabrating life.

We sacrifice a heck with our training. We deserve an event for the pure joy of being there with others who sacrifice as we do.

I look forward to meeting all of you, even the ones who are going to beat me for teasing them. I'm proud to wear the WISH colors when I race.

See y'all in 11 days, you're all heroes.
