Hi guys, this is my 1st post on this section of the DIS so please be gentle :)

i have just purchased a Nikon D40x DSLR and was wondering if you experts ;) have any good sites to recommend to a complete SLR beginner?

any sites that will teach me how to do more than point and shoot :confused3

I am looking for a local photography course but this is proving difficult as i have just missed the dates for enrolments/classes beginning at my local college. Has anyone done any online courses that you could recommend?

Thanks

wendy :cutie:

The Luminous Landscape (http://www.luminous-landscape.com/) has a section on their front page called "The Understanding Series." There are some great articles in there.

www.nikonians.org (http://www.nikonians.org)

This is a great resource for anyone owning a Nikon camera. Aside from the dedicated forum for your D40, you can pick up pointers and tips from several other areas as well.

Congrats on the new camera!
