We leave in about a week and my DD3 starting getting sick tonight. She will be well before we leave but it got me thinking about worst case scenario. She has multiple food allergies, which mean multiple medicine allergies due to inactive ingredients. I like to be prepared if we need to visit a hospital. Which one is best in the disney area? Thanks. Hopefiully we won't need to use the information.

There are three different answers.
If there is an emergency the Reedy Creek Emergency Services will take him to where he would get the best treatment.
Otherwise the Florida Hospital Celebration is right outside of WDW and the most convenient.
However, the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children, which is close to the Kaley Avenue exit of I-4 (I think it is exit 82) actually has a Pediatric ER and Trauma Center.

Anyone have experience using any of these facilities?

We had to got to Florida Hospital Celebration when my daughter fell and broke her arm at WDW. It was very nice - VERY slow - not terribly kid friendly. If given the choice, I think I'd choose the Arnold Palmer with Pediatric ER - In a tough situation, even the little things help like toys, TV, etc. Just my opinion. Good luck and hope you don't have to use the advice!!!

Does Arnold Palmer handle neuro issues and trachs? Karen
Karen,
My boys have hydrocephalus and shunts along with CP and other medical issues. Our neurosurgeon told us to go to Arnold Palmer hospital if we think the boys are having a problem. He also gave us a referral to a particular doctor. Since they have a trauma center and peds ER, I would think they could handle trachs, etc. Here is the link to the hospital:

AP is one of the best kids hospitals in Florida and climbing the list in the US. If you need to go some where go there.

US children's hospitals treat kids until the age of 18. If they have special needs then it is usually 21. And if they have congenital heart defects and if it is a heart issue it is unlimited.
I work at the kids hospital here in MN and we have several heart "kids" who are in their early 40's.

My DD has many disabilities and goes to Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul. They recently opened "Gillette Lifetime Care" because many of the 'children' are adults now and still need specialized care.
