I'm wondering if I need to pack my makeup in my carryon or my checked luggage?? I wear Bare Essentuals (bare minerals) So it is all loose powder. We leave Friday night and I'm trying to pack now.

Your only issues are liquids. And as long as they are in 3oz. containers (or less) and can all fit in a quart size ziploc bag, you are good to go.
Have fun!
Only 10 days to go!:cool1:

Sorry I can't help you, I haven't worn makeup since my wedding.... seven years ago!

It should be OK in your carry-on; liquids are DEFINITELY an issue. We had a fellow traveler who got all her pricey toiletry items tossed at the gate last year. Yikes!

Try to always pack makeup in your carry on. The pressure in the cabin under the plane is low and sometimes makeup (liquids) will explode! If you need liquids (foundation, mouisterizer, etc) try to find small containers or samples of it at places like Wal Mart or Target. Your BM should be fine. Have a great time!

I wear bm and I always carry it in my carry on. I try not to take the white paper that is on the bm off. That way it does not make such a mess.

I just got back last Sunday (Oct 7th). I too use mineral makeup (Pure Luxe and Bare Escentuals). I carried it all in my carry on. Just make sure to put your moisturizer and mascara in your quart bag.

They don't consider it a liquid.

I think you will find that they are fairly easy to work with in most places. I had a small bottle of wonder lotion from the Sofitel hotel in Chicago in my purse...I panicked figuring they would confiscate it...they didn't say a word.

Some airports have free baggies or have them for a nominal fee if you forget.

Things can explode in checked luggage. Make sure they are not very full, and the top is not TOO tight...that can actually make things worse. Put anything in a ziploc you fear could be a mess. I even had that nail polish remover "in a sponge" leak and ruin a top. Now I only buy packets of remover.
