(Mods, sorry if this is in the wrong place.)
Is this item still considered beta? How is an item considered BETA? Please give me some background info. I'm still kinda new to VMK (since this year's tiki month.)

There is a thread that covers everything you need to know about beta here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1359476
Basically, right at the start of that thread, there is a definition of beta:
What is BETA?
BETA - A version of an application that is made available prior to the official release for the purposes of testing.
On May 23rd, 2005 VMK opened for BETA testing and on June 27th, 2005 The BETA period ended.
Several items that could previously be purchased in that BETA period were no longer available to be bought. These are the items that became known as BETA.
So basically, yes, the green throne is still beta because it still meets that definition, but because it has been released in such large quantities thanks to the pirates game, it does not have the value of some of the lesser re-released (and in some cases never re-released) beta, such as the orange haunted organ.

I just got it from a bronze key.

It's still considered beta, but as Mnementh said, it is a prize in the Bronze Treasure Chest, so it is no longer worth Beta. It's probably worth buyable right now. :thumbsup2

Nope, not beta
Still beta.
Just easily obtained, re-released but none the less, beta.
Nothing beta will lose its title, nor will there ever be any new beta. The definition Mint quoted from the beta sums it up.
is it worth much? Nope. But is it beta? yup.
